Sakura was nervous the first time Sasuke asked her out on a date. It was about a week ago, and she couldn’t believe her ears when Sasuke asked her to dinner. They went to a cheaper restaurant in town, since both of them were high school students, and they didn’t have much money.
Still, she had a blast. Sasuke was attentive; he listened to everything she had to say. He was a gentleman, opening the door of his car for her, pulling out the chair for her in the restaurant, and making sure she was comfortable. She felt like she hit the jackpot; she wasn’t sure if he would want more dates, but she was happy to be able to experience such a wonderful night with him.
When the date ended, he took her home in his car. They were talking all the way to her house, and when they arrived, he opened the car door for her, and he waited until she walked into the house before driving off.
The next day, she was asked to go on a second date, and she eagerly agreed. She couldn’t help but rub it into her best friend, Ino’s face. She wasn’t jealous of her, but she also had a little crush on Sasuke, so she was disappointed when Sasuke asked Sakura out instead of her. Still, she was supportive of her friend.
“Guess what, Ino-pig?” Sakura practically yelled as she arrived at their lockers.
“What is it, forehead? Did you embarrass yourself so much yesterday that Sasuke decided to leave you to walk home alone?” The blonde girl teased.
“You can grieve all you want, but he actually asked me out on a second date.” Sakura said, throwing her hair over her shoulder. She got her things out of her locker before turning to Ino. She had a shocked expression on her face, and Sakura didn’t understand why.
“Good luck, forehead! You just have to keep watch on his fangirls.” The blonde said with a teasing smile on her face.
Sakura didn’t reply, as it was time to head back to class, but she didn’t understand why Ino was shocked. Was it that hard to believe she was wanted by someone? Or was it because it was Sasuke? She didn’t understand, but the bell rang, disrupting her train of thought.
Sasuke asked her officially to be his girlfriend when they were on the fourth date. If they hadn’t known each other since childhood, she would’ve been weirded out by it, but she wasn’t. Their fourth date had been a week ago.
They still went on dates and hung out after school when they had the chance. But it wasn’t every day like before; she understood that both of them had to study hard if they wanted to get into a good college. Sasuke also had his father to please by being the top student, so she didn’t pressure him. Still, he managed to make time to see her almost every day.
She felt happy when Sasuke asked her to hang out on the weekend. It was Friday, so really, he meant to ask her to hang out tomorrow, and they both knew that.
Sakura told Ino the news since she was always the person she could ask if she needed advice or if she just needed to talk to someone.
“I need your help, Ino. Me and Sasuke-kun are going to hang out tomorrow, and I want to make it special.” She told Ino.
“Did you have your first kiss yet? Maybe start with that first.” Ino suggested.
Sakura thought about it, and if she was really honest with herself, she really wanted to kiss Sasuke. She wanted to feel his soft lips dance with hers and feel his hands get lost in her hair as he pulled her in deeper. But she was also shy. What if Sasuke didn’t want to kiss her? What if he didn’t want her to be his first kiss?
She knew Sasuke hadn’t kissed before because he told her before he had even asked her out on a date. She had her doubts, and she was also extremely shy about being the first to start their kiss. She was just as inexperienced as Sasuke. However, she also fantasized a lot about their first kiss, and she wanted to be able to kiss him freely when she wanted to without having to worry about it.
“I’m not sure, Ino. What if he doesn’t want me to be his first kiss?” Sakura asked.
“If he wouldn’t want you to be his first kiss, he wouldn’t be dating you.” Came the firm reply.
Ino knew Sakura was shy and that she tended to overthink a lot of things, so she knew she needed to help build her confidence. And what better way than to have her kiss Sasuke?
Saturday started normally. Sakura woke up and showered before brushing her teeth. She knew she had to dress a little better than she normally would, so she did. It wasn’t every day she went on a date with Sasuke-kun, after all.
Sasuke came to pick her up at 11:00 AM, and they made plans to have a picnic by the river. It was a hidden place that not many knew about, so there wouldn’t be anyone else other than them. It also meant that if Sasuke didn’t want to kiss and he pulled back, no one would see her failed attempt.
It put some ease on her mind temporarily until she heard the honk of Sasuke’s car. They wanted to spend most of the day together, hence why he came to pick her up so early.
She ran down the stairs excitedly and yelled a ‘Bye!’ to her parents before opening the door. She waved to Sasuke before closing the door behind her. Sakura made her way over to the car, and Sasuke opened it to her from the inside.
The car ride was filled with chatter, and before she realized it, they were almost at their destination. They still had a little to walk since the river was in the forest, where they couldn’t go by car. Her hand found Sasuke's, and she intertwined their fingers.
Sakura felt Sasuke squeeze her hand, and they started walking.
The date was going well so far; they’d been out there for a couple of hours now, enjoying the food they brought and talking about all sorts of things. Her heart started beating faster as she thought about the kiss they were probably going to share today.
Sakura stood up from their spot and made her way over to the dock that reached into the water. Before sitting down, she removed her shoes and socks and put her feet into the water.
She heard Sasuke follow her, and he was soon seated next to her in the same way she was. She looked at him, a warm smile tugging at her lips. Her green eyes glimmered, and the wind blew her hair, making her look like an angel in his eyes.
When Sasuke looked back at her, she knew it was the perfect opportunity. If he wanted to kiss her, they would paint a beautiful sight, and if he didn't, then she would probably run away, crying her eyes out.
She moved her hand from behind her and placed it on his cheeks. She saw his eyes following her hand's path, and she saw the light blush on his ears when her hand settled. Sakura angled his face a bit better before scooting closer to him.
When she was close enough, she moved her face closer to him. Their lips almost touched as she stopped to whisper to him.
“Is it okay if I kiss you, Sasuke-kun?” She mumbled, lips almost touching as they formed her words.
Without an answer, Sasuke pressed his lips against hers. It was both of their first kisses, so it wasn’t the best; it was choppy, and their teeth rubbed together while they kissed.
Still, Sakura was satisfied. It wasn’t the best kiss they were ever going to share, but it was their first. When they separated in need of air, Sasuke was determined to keep their kiss going.
After their breathing calmed, Sasuke pulled her back in. Their lips danced a beautiful dance, and his hands fisted in her hair to angle her face better. Her hands were thrown across his neck, and she kissed him back with vigor.
From the outside, they painted the perfect picture. Sitting by the lake, reflecting the sun, kissing with passion. Pink hair blown by the wind meshed with raven hair as their lips moved against each other.
Sakura was more than happy; she took the first step towards their first kiss, and from the looks of it, Sasuke was too. He wouldn’t stop kissing her until it was time to go home.
