“And how’re you gonna stop me?” Smirking, she juts her chin up to meet his eyes as Gray’s left brow kicks up in a challenge.
It’s only here she notices how close they are. Six inches of air, maybe less, separate them. Distant neon light skips along the high points of his profile in soft relief, tripping up between the gaps of his lashes. He meant too much for her to ever totally forget his face, but relearning his fine details once they’d reconnected had been rewarding.
“Got a few ideas.” Gray says, swallowing, and it dawns on Carmen that she could kiss him right this second. She could kiss him, and, well. He’d probably let her.

Or, Carmen keeps in contact with Gray after New Zealand. It starts off fairly innocent--he's an old itch of hers she can't help but scratch--but as they keep meeting, things....escalate, to say the least.
