Leo Valdez's Superman

Summary:

Jason stopped struggling underneath him and the wig in Leo’s hand lay forgotten.

Leo’s teasing smirk faltered.

His hands tightened slightly on Jason’s shoulders as the weight of the moment hit him.

The warmth of Jason’s body underneath him, the sound of his breath—everything seemed to amplify in that instant.

Jason swallowed, his eyes searching Leo’s face. “Leo,” he whispered, and Leo could hear the uncertainty, the tension. It made something in his chest tighten.

“Yeah?” Leo replied, his voice quieter than it had been all night.

He wasn’t sure what Jason was about to say, but the atmosphere had shifted—gone was the carefree teasing from moments ago. Now, there was something else between them, something heavier and harder to ignore.

Chapter Text

This wasn’t how it's meant to be.

It’s not how I should be.

But his electric blue eyes, staring into mine at that moment made me feel something I shouldn’t feel.

I always admired his eyes, they reminded me of the sky. I told him that once, he frowned at me, probably because it reminded him of his dad. But I didn’t think about Zeus when I saw them, I thought of him and every time he’s saved my ass with his stupidly cool wind powers.

And everytime I remember my heart dropping every time he wrapped his arms around me. Everytime we landed back on the ground again, I yearned for him to hold me again. Sometimes I wished we could just fly away, from all this madness, all this fear. Just me and him alone somewhere quiet.

No but it's wrong. Each time I had to remind myself it's wrong.

Boys can't like Boys.

I can’t like Jason.

“Leo, earth to Leo” he said waving his hand in front of my face.

“Dude did you hear me? Is there something on my face?”

I realised I had in fact not heard him and instead had been staring at his face like a fucking idiot. “Sorry, what'd you say jason?”

“I SAID, do you have anything planned for Christmas.”

“Yeah Percy’s mum's party remember, she invited all of us.”

He looked sad all of a sudden “What? I haven’t heard anything about that.”

“That’s because you don’t check your emails and that's the only thing Sally knows how to use.”

I grabbed his phone from his lap, blushing as I grazed his upper thigh and opened up his phone.

“How tf do you know my password-”

“Shush” I hushed him as I shoved his phone in his face with the invite open.

His face lit up immediately, shit he's so cute.

Stop it

I dropped his phone and he catched it before it hit his lap and he rolled his eyes at me while smiling.

“Why’d you get so stressed dude, Percy loves you.” I inquired as I pulled out some random pieces of metal and started tinkering with it.

I saw Jason out of the corner of my eye staring at the gadget I was creating, he often did that. “Idk sometimes i'm scared our banter is his actual feelings and he does hate me and we are secretly in competition with one another.”

Competition? I thought. Jason could beat Percy any day. Well that’s probably not true, Percy’s like crazy powerful. But Jason’s my superman.

He’s not your anything. He’s not yours and will never be.

I scoffed at what Jason said and just kept my focus on the metal in my hands.
