Chapter Text
Dipper makes his way to Bill's statue just like he does every year to check on if the demon has managed to break free. Of course it seems as though the statue has not moved an inch, still sitting there waiting for someone to come and shake his hand. But as Dipper approaches instead of seeing a stone statue he sees a human passed out on the ground surrounded by the remains of Bill's statue. Dipper runs over and is concerned about the human before he realizes that the person is wearing a suit with golden triangle buttons, a bow tie and a top hat, he also has blonde and black hair, and is wearing a eyepatch, plus has a scar going from the corner of his eye down his cheek.
Dipper stares down at the unconscious humanoid demon unsure if he should leave him there for the wolves, or drag him back to the shack. If he does drag him back they will be able to keep a close eye on him, if Bill wakes up here and he has his powers then he can catch them off guard and kill them then take over the town again. Dipper sighs and picks up the demon starting his way back to the shack, thankful it will be a few days before the Stans get back, he can deal with this himself and not worry them.
Dipper carefully walks through the woods carrying the demon hoping that Bill won't wake up and kill him on the way there. As they get to the parking lot Bill wakes up and stares at the sky for a moment before a blue eye snaps to Dipper. “Pinetree?” He mumbles.
“Can you walk?” Dipper asks.
“Everything hurts. Hate meatsack.” He groans, closing his eyes.
Dipper sighs unsure why he cares about how Bill is feeling but carries him inside the shack and lays him on the couch. “Can you tell me what happened? Why did you pass out in the middle of the woods?”
“Well, As you can see you guys didn't kill me. I. I asked a powerful being to save me. In short they sent me here to show I can be rehabilitated.” Bill explains with a sigh. “Didn't think they'd shove me in this terrible body.”
“You were sent here by some one to be rehabilitated? Who was it?” Dipper asks, sitting on the armrest by Bill's feet.
“Axolotl, They are one of the most powerful beings in the Multiverse. You look older, how long has it been?” Bill asks, looking him up and down.
“Ten years.” Dipper says, looking away from him. “Grunkle Stan got his memories back shortly after we stopped you, Grunkle Stan and Great Uncle Ford are both out on the boat right now, they will be back in a few days hopefully. Right now Mable is out with Candy and Grenda.”
Bil sits up, “So you brought me here and no one else is around. Why didn't you just kill me? What are you planning to do with me?” He asked, eye narrowing.
“I figured it'd be better than leaving you out there when there is a possibility you could come and kill us. At least this way I can at least be aware of what you are about to do and therefore have a higher possibility of stopping you.” Dipper explains looking at his eyepatch. “Do you only have one eye still?”
Bill blinks and sits back against the couch moving to set his feet on the ground. “Um no I have two eyes in this meatsuit apparently.” He says and takes off the eyepatch.
Dipper watches him and sees that his other eye is golden and catlike just like how his demon form looks. “Cool, So are you feeling any better?”
“A bit, being a human sucks. I can't feel my powers, and this outfit is suffocating… or maybe that's just my skin?” Bill hums looking at his hands.
Dipper stares at him for a moment. “Right. Well tomorrow we can go and get you some more clothes. What am I going to tell everyone.” He sighs rubbing his face.
“Were is everyone?” Bill asks, noticing how it's quiet and Waddles is just asleep on the floor.
“Mable is out with her friends, Grunkle Stan and Ford won't be back for a week or so. Soos and Melody left us with the house, they live out in town and help out with the shack still, but Soos figured he can leave the shack to me and Mable when we are on break for college.” Dipper explains.
Bill nods. “How did everything with your parents go?”
Dipper frowns and sighs. “They got divorced over the summer that we were here. Luckily we were able to convince mom and dad to let us stay together. It was hard for a while but during winter break we would go see dad. Then during the summer we would come here.” Dipper looks at Bill. “Did you have a family?”
Bill looks away. “Yeah. They are gone. Have been for a long time.” He says staring off into space for a moment. He shakes his head and smiles. “It doesn't matter. What we need to focus on is you making sure Sixer doesn't come along and try to kill me.”
Dipper crosses his arms. “He has every right to.”
Bill frowns a little. “Yes I suppose he does… Though I will have you know I didn't lie to him. Everything I said was true.”
“You lied by omission.” Dipper sighs.
Bill rolls his eyes. “Yeah yeah. What ever you say.”
“So. You said they sent you here by an Axolotl to show you can be rehabilitated right?” Dipper asks as he gets off the couch. “Well one of the first steps in doing so is admitting your mistakes. And one of them is how you tricked Great Uncle Ford into trying to destroy the world.”
Bill sighs. “Ok maybe I wasn't completely honest. But that's not the point.”
“It's part of the point Bill. You shouldn't use people. We are not your puppets to do what you want.” Dipper says cringing slightly at the word puppets. He hasn't been much of a fan of that word since the whole possession.
Bill glares at him then looks away. “Whatever. I don't care.”
“You should if you want to show Axolotl that you can be redeemed.” Dipper says sternly, crossing his arms.
Bill sighs. “Okay okay. Maybe. Possibly. I was. Slightly in the wrong… But Stanford read those cave writings! He should have really seen this coming. Besides he didn't really even ask what my big plans were, he just went along with it. It's not my fault that he was so easy to manipulate.”
“Bill.” Dipper starts then stops for a moment before sighing. “You are missing the big picture. We will come back around to this for now let's focus on the fact that you probably need to stay here. Were you given any form of ID or money?”
Bill pats his pockets and shakes his head. “Nope. Guess the Axolotl decided to not be too helpful.”
“Wonderful… Lets keep you out of situations where you would need them then. If push comes to shove well. We both know Grunkle Stan is great at making them. We don't have any more extra rooms so I guess you can stay in my room. We can get you a sleeping bag or something.” Dipper says as he gets up to go find one.
Bill slowly gets up to test out his new meatsack and makes his way around the living room then to the kitchen. He opens a few drawers looking at the knives and forks before heading back into the living room to see Dipper coming down the stairs. “What are you doing?”
“Testing out the new meatsuit.” Bill says and starts to go upstairs.
Dipper glances into the kitchen to see all the drawers and cabinets open then follows after Bill. “I couldn't find any sleeping bag. So I am going to make you sleep on the couch until Grunkle Stan and Ford get here.”
Bill smiles at him. “Aww why can't I sleep with you?”
“Because Bill I don't want to share a bed with you.” Dipper glares at him even though for some strange reason the idea doesn't sound too bad. He shakes his head thinking it's just the human body Bill is wearing. Bill's stupid human body looks stupidly cute. So of course Dipper is going to think something like that.
Bill looks around the attic then sits in the window. “If I must, I will sleep in the living room. What are you going to tell your sister?”
“The truth I guess. She is not coming back tonight she is staying at Candys. But I will let her know before she gets here. I would like to take her to the mall with us since she is better at clothes shopping than I am. Not like we have much to be able to spend on you so don't expect anything fancy.”
Bill rolls his eyes. “Of course I shouldn't expect much. I can live without such luxury. I've been in prison for years anyway.”
“You will be treated better here than in a prison. So enjoy it. Because I am sure we could get you locked up if we have to.” Dipper says in a warning tone.
Bill looks away from him. “Yeah okay. I will behave.” He groans.
“Good. Now come on, I am going to make dinner. Are you hungry?” He asks.
“I can eat.” He says and follows Dipper back to the kitchen. Bill sits at the table and watches as Dipper closes all the doors and starts to cook.
Getting bord Bill goes into the tourist part of the shack and tries to enter in the old code for the lab. After a few tries he finally gets it open and heads down to Ford's old lab. He looks around the lab at Ford's research when Dipper comes in. “Dammit Bill you're not allowed down here.” He says going up to him and snatching the papers out of his hand.
Bill rolls his eyes. “You never said I am not.”
“Well I am now. Come on, dinner is ready.” He says taking Bill's hand and leads him upstairs. Bill allows him to and he sits at the kitchen table, Dipper gives him a plate and sits across from him to eat. “Okay. No going down into the lab, and no leaving the shack without telling us where you are going, better yet, have someone go with you. No need to have you getting into trouble.”
“Okay mom.” Bill says sarcastically and hesitantly tries a bite of food. “This is good. Thank you Pinetree.”
Dipper smiles. “Your welcome Bill.”
They eat the rest of the meal in silence and Dipper looks at the time to see it's still a bit early to go to bed and decides to ask Bill, “Would you like to stay up and watch a movie?”
Bill nods. “Sure. you can throw whatever on i'm sure it'll be fine.” Bill says glad for some form of mindless entertainment.
Dipper takes the dishes to the sink and leads Bill to the living room. He looks through the DVDs and finds a movie to throw on. Bill stays quiet watching the tv. About half way through the show Bill falls asleep on the couch.
When Dipper notices he takes a blanket and tosses it over Bill before going up to his own room and texting Mable that Bill has come back from the dead, he waits a few moments to see if she will text back, when she doesn't he goes to bed himself figuring Bill will be fine.
