Work Text:
The night has really only just began. Music booms throughout the entire nightclub and his friends have all worked their way through the sea of bodies on the dance floor.
Wangji in turn had deemed a spot at the bar far more comfortable. He’s leaning against said bar, nursing a watered down drink, when he notices a frantic looking Jiang Cheng—though if he’s being honest—Wangji 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 notices Jiang Cheng.
The man looks slightly uncomfortable, that alone is enough to have Wangji straightening up.
Jiang Cheng has yet to notice him as he weaves his way through people, clearly looking for someone—perhaps Wei Yong or Jiang Yanli.
“Where are you off to?” Wangji asks, hand flying out as soon as Jiang Cheng’s within reach. He snakes his arm around Jiang Cheng’s waist to stop him from walking any further and smirks.
“Lan Wangji” Jiang Cheng breathes, and maybe it’s wishful thinking, but Wangji thinks he senses some sort of relief from him.
“You okay?” Wangji asks with slight concern.
“Ah, yeah—sort of” Jiang Cheng says, releasing an awfully awkward chuckle while scanning their surroundings. Wangji raises an eyebrow at him and Jiang Cheng deflates with a sigh. “Wen Chao is here”
Annoyance flares within Wangji at the mention of Jiang Cheng’s ex boyfriend and he has to roll his eyes.
“And you’re running away from him?”
“Avoiding him, mostly” Jiang Cheng says. “I’m drunk enough to where if he doesn’t immediately try and humiliate me—which honestly, would still do it for me—if he asked, I’d probably go home with him”
A fiery stab of jealousy courses through his body at Jiang Cheng’s confession.
“Are you—do you still—well” he frowns deeply at the man in his arms, unable to form complete sentences. He doesn’t understand. He thought Jiang Cheng was 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 with the guy after everything he put him through.
The lying, the cheating—he even tried isolating him from his family and friends.
“God no” Jiang Cheng shudders, “but I am drunk…and horny so—” Jiang Cheng shrugs as he pats Wangji’s chest.
And well Lan Wangji’s brain sort of short circuits for a few seconds before it’s registering exactly what Jiang Cheng had said.
A new wave of jealousy overtakes him at the mere thought of Jiang Cheng going back to that man simply because he’s drunk and horny.
“Seriously, Jiang Cheng” Wangji deadpans, because what the hell?
“Don’t you get all high and mighty with me, sir” Jiang Cheng tells him, stabbing his chest with an accusatory finger. “Just because 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙪𝙪𝙪 are one gorgeous specimen and can get whoever you please, doesn’t mean the rest of us are as lucky—so sorryyyyy if I’d honestly fold for an easy fuck”
Wangji’s not sure why he does what he does next, (he does know why—he’s angry, and jealous—and he’ll be damned if he lets Jiang Cheng go back to 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 piece of shit) but he leans down and captures Jiang Cheng’s lips with his own.
The kiss clearly takes them both by surprise, but they’re quick to respond. Jiang Cheng’s clutches at the fabric stretched around Wangji’s chest, and Wangji’s hold on his waist tightens. Jiang Cheng’s lips are soft and plush against Wangji’s own dry ones, and he tastes of artificial fruits. Wangji can’t get enough.
Jiang Cheng gasps, and Wangji takes the opportunity to deepen their kiss, diving his tongue into Jiang Cheng’s warm wet and awaiting mouth. They groan in unison, Jiang Cheng going pliantly boneless in Wangji’s hold.
“A-Cheng thinks I’m gorgeous?” Wangji asks, once they pull away from each other, panting, their foreheads pressed together. A slight smirk plays on his lips and he leans in to peck him once again.
“You 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 you are” Jiang Cheng says with an eye roll, trying to pull away, but Wangji is having none of that. “What are you doing to me?” he whines, hiding his face in the crook of Wangji’s neck.
“You said I could easily have anyone I want—and I want 𝙮𝙤𝙪” Wangji whispers, right up against Jiang Cheng’s ear, sending shivers down his back.
“Fine, then do something about it before I go and find that slimy ex of mine” Jiang Cheng teases, and Lan Wangji doesn’t have to be told twice. After he’s done with Jiang Cheng, he won’t even remember his own name, let alone that bastard of an ex.
