Chapter Text

Annie sat upstairs in her bedroom brushing her hair down.

She was so excited for her first day at her dream school that she almost didn't hear her mom calling her from down stairs

“Hurry up or you'll be late for your first day annie!” Her mother called from downstairs.

It was her first day at her new dream school Godolkin university and she was really excited!

“coming!” She yelled back to her mother

Annie got up from the mirror she was looking at and ran towards her door before leaving She checked her hair one last time, grabbed her book bad then left closing her door behind her.

When she arrived downstairs her mother looked her up and down and stuck her lip out

“I can't believe you're going to university!” She said as tears fell down her face

“awe mom! I'll only be away for 4 years and plus you can call!!” Annie said her cheeks turning red from trying not to cry

“are you sure you don't want to just..I don't know..live at home you can stay here you know!” Her mother said more tears escaping her eyes

“I'm sure mom I wanna go and meet new people an-and see new things!” She smiled and her mother smiled back sadly.

“okay..just stay safe..please” She looked at her mom and hugged her tight “I promise I'll be safe..okay?” she kissed her mom on the cheek and her mom kissed her back on her cheek “okay okay let's go we need to drop you off..”.

It was a few hours later when they both arrived at the university

“woah…it's so big!” Annie said in awe her jaw dropped as she saw all the students with all of their unique powers.

Some of the students stood out among the rest such as a guy who had seemingly walked all the way from his home to the school he had a dark green hoodie on even though it was burning hot out.

There was another guy who had bright blond hair and bright blue eyes.

He was getting out of an all black car followed by two men who seemed to be both of his fathers.

One of the men who had brown hair spoke to him seemingly happy whilst the other signed to him and smiled,tears ran down his face.

The blond boy spoke back, looked around and smiled before hugging the one who was crying then walked to the school the guy in the green hoodie spotted him and ran towards him the blue eyed boy rolled his eyes then walked into the school

“oh!” she said loudly “

“uhh mom you can stop here!” Annie said after she got out of her trance.

“oh alright!” her mother said quickly then abruptly stopped causing cars behind her to honk “sorry! Sorry!” her mom said waving her hand out the window

“alright I love you hon stay safe..” she smiled sadly

“Love you to mom, you stay safe as well!” They hugged one last time before she got out of the car and walked to the school.

It was her first day and she was nervous.

God she hoped it would go well.

Chapter Text

Annie walked down the hallway slowly, some people glanced towards her before they continued on their way, most just continued to talk to their friends, uncaring of her.

Although no one was really looking or talking to her she felt…seen like she had made it but she also felt anxious she felt that if she made one mistake everyone would crucify her for it she shivered at the thought of her class she hating her but continued on.

As she walked down the hallway to her class she saw the same blond haired blue eyed boy standing there so she thought she'd say hi.

When she walked up to him she saw him talking to that same guy with the green hoodie, she smiled and hoped she could make two friends in one day.

“hello!” She said full of energy “my names Annie but my supe name is starlight it's nice to meet you!”

The guy in the green hoodie looked her up and down and smiled before speaking “my name's Kevin, it's nice to meet you too” he smiled stupidly “oh! And my supe name is deep..” he said trying to be mysterious, before striking a pose. she felt slightly uncomfortable.

The blond guy sighed and put his middle finger and thumb on the bridge of his nose and massaged it “I apologize for his speech actions he doesn't know any better..” he started Kevin put a hand on his chest clearly upset and John ignored him

“I'm John but you can call me the homelander that's my supe name but i prefer it more than my real name” he smiled briefly before continuing

“what brought you over here towards us?” He asked.

“Well I wanted to get to know you two better and I wanted to ask..” she breathed in then out “would you like to be friends?” she asked slightly embarrassed

Bothe the teens looked at eachother and kevin snickered a bit homelander sighed

“Yeah I'd love to be friends with you!” Kevin said happily

“I would like to be friends with you as well” homelander said smiling once again, though it didn't show in his eyes

“awesome!” Annie said, pumping her hands up into the air, some people looked towards them. homelander looked around before looking back at her weirdly “oop..sorry!” She said he rolled his eyes slightly “it's fine”
She blushed embarrassed.

Kevin looked down at his hand “oh shiiit..I had to get to class like 2 minutes ago fuck I see you later guys!” Kevin said before running off, bumping into multiple people as he ran.

Homelander looked at him and groaned quietly “I should also get to class” he sighed before tilting his head slightly “wait..your new here right?” He asked

“Yeah why?” Annie asked back

“Well if you're new here I have to give you a tour of the grounds and stuff..I'll go ask the principal if I can” he murmured under his breath “come with me now” he said in a authoritative tone”

“Oh o-okay!” She said walking with him

Homelander sighed before he spoke again “the principal is..an asshole i he thinks he thinks he's a know it all but he's not” he bares his teeth slightly, his sharp canines show Annie backs away slightly and homelander takes notice “sorry..” he says his eyes flick away

“it's okay..” she says. Trying to change the subject she points towards a statue of a man wearing a trenchcoat and a WW2 helmet “who's that?” she asks

“oh that's soldier boy” he responds back looking slightly uncomfortable “he was and still is a true war hero..you've never heard of him?”

“no never” she smiles “I Didn't even know his name until now!” homelander looks confused

“No one ever told you about him?” He asks

“no one besides you!” Homelander looks away

“That's weird everyone should've known of his accomplishments..” he looks away and continues walking, Annie continues on with him.

After a while of walking in silence they both made it to the principal’s office homelander stood there and and breathed in slowly before knocking on the door

“Come in” a deepish voice called out and homelander entered along with annie

When they entered all that was there was a desk,two chairs one on each side of the desk a plant that was in a giant pot and a name plate that read ‘Stan Edgar’ in bold letters

John stood there waiting for something to be said “hello John” the voice said “and hello..John's new friend” the strange man said looking away

“Hi” Annie said nervously

John sneered at the man and spoke “Annie is new here so I was wonderin-” he was cut off before he got to continue

“Yes you may give Annie a tour of the school but after today she will have to get to where she needs to go on her own tomorrow and so on” the man said still looking away

“yes I know that and thanks” homelander said before turning away toward the door his sneer was gone and was replaced with a grimace they both left the principals room

“Welp..guess we better start the tour..right?” He smiled and his blue eyes sparkled

“Yeah..we should!” Annie smile

“You might even get to meet some of my friends” homelander said happily

“Yay!” She again pumped her hands into the air and homelander gave her that same look and laughed. She laughed along with him.

Maybe she'd like this school after all.

“The gym is giant!” Annie said excitedly

“Yep its just so everyone can have space of their own..I mean you don't want someone with a Pyro power to come in contact with someone that's conductive you know?” Homelander said knowingly

“Yeah you're right..” Annie said “never thought of that!” She smiled at him he smiled back

“Yeah a lot of people don't until they see it happen” he smiles let me show you were your dorm is” he stops before he starts “unless your doing the home to school way like i am”

“No I'm definitely not!” She laughed “my mom wouldn't wanna let go of me hehe!” She smiled. He did not.

“Alright the let's go then” he walked and she followed

“So you don't stay here at all?” Annie asked

“I stay here sometimes i do have a dorm but I prefer to do school to home” he said

“Who comes to pick you up, your mom or your dad?” Annie asked

“I have two d-” he stopped himself “my….mom comes to pick me up” he said begrudgingly

“Oh okay!” Annie said obliviously happy

“Let's continue..I'm sure you want to see your dorm and who you're going to be dorming

with” he said quieter than usual

“Yeah I do!” She said happily

They continued the rest of the way in silence

“This is it” he started “your own dormitory well your dorm and someone else's as well..I suppose” he said thinking

“Oh my gosh…I can't wait to see my roommate!” She said excitedly

Homelander smiled and ducked his head as something – or someone was thrown his way “you might wanna back up annie” he warned he he backed up as another body came hurling towards her door

“WHAT THE FUCK DUDE” the first guy

yelled out

“WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU FUCKING MY BITCH?” the guys asked

“I DIDN’T FUCKING TOUCH HER SHE TOUCHED ME!” He said

Now that she looked at them both she could see that one person –the one being attacked– was Kevin and the other was Reggie

“Guys” homelander said slightly annoyed “stop please”

Either they didn't listen or didn't hear him because ether continued their argument/fight

“DON’T FUCKING LIE AB I UT HER LIKE THAT SHE WOULD NEVER TOUCH A FISH FUCKING FREAK LIKE YOU” Reggie yelled spit flying out of his mouth as he spoke

“I DIDN'T FUCK THAT BITCH” Kevin said.

he opened his mouth to say more but a fist flew to it instead continuously

“Holy shit..” Annie covered her mouth as she saw blood run down kevins face homelander looked towards her then back at them he closed his eyes and breathed in and out slowly

“STOP” homelander yelled out his eyes glowed a bright red

Both Kevin and Reggie looked up

“There is a person here” he started “Do you know how embarrassing that was on both your part and mine?”

They both looked at eachother then back at homelander “sorry homelander..” Reggie said

“yeah sorry man..” Kevin replied his speech slightly muffled by blood

Reggie got off of Kevin and helped him to his feet then looked down

Kevin looked towards the wall embarrassed

Homelander looked towards Annie

“I am so sorry you had to see these two idiots fight annie” he said sympathetically “I hope you know not everyone here are idiots”

Kevin sighed slightly

Reggie looked over to wall as well then spoke

“oh cool your rooming with mav” he said trying to re route the conversation

“Oh great that perv..” homelander mumbled under his breath

“Ooo” Annie started “who's mav?” she asked

“Well..you'll probably find out..” Reggie said “if he bothers you you can just move rooms okay?” He said kindly

“Alright, thanks!” She smiled and Reggie gave here a rueful smile

They stood there for a few moments in silence before the lunch bell rang

“Welp..I think it's time we got to lunch gang!” homelander clapped his hands and smiled

“Ohh yeah!” Annie said happily “you said I'd get to meet your friends right?” She asked

“Yep..I Mean you've already met two of them but yeah you will” he smiled

“Cool, let's get going then!” She said

Both Reggie and kevin said “alright” at the same time Kevin scoffed and walked forwards away from Reggie

As soon as homelander saw Kevin walking towards him he began to walk in front of them all towards the lunch room

Annie ran to homelanders side and talked with him the whole way. He didn't mind that she did.

When they made it to the lunch room it was packed full with an array of different people.

Even though it was crowded though they made way for homelander when he walked in some people said hi to him others tried to meld into the crowd

Annie went up to order her lunch homelander had told her he had his dad make him lunch from home so she didn't need to worry about him

“uhm sorry I'm new here and I don't know my lunch number..” she said when she arrived at the ordering station

“That's fine you don't need no lunch number baby”  The nice lady said “you just order and go!” She smiled

“Oh that's awesome, thanks!” She smiled back

“No problem baby now, what do you want to order?” She asked and Annie ordered her food

When she made it back the table was filled with his friends

“Oh hey” he said “I saved a spot for you” he smiled

“Thanks homey!” She said happily

He looked at her weirdly then went back to eating

She stopped smiling and began eating as well

“sorry didn't mean to make you uncomfortable..” she said softly

“you didn't make me uncomfortable I just didn't..know you were going to give me a nickname..and so fast into our uhh friendship?” He said still looking away from her

“oh I'm sorry I won't call you that anymore!” She said remorsefully

“It's okay really you don't need to apologize” he smiled

She looked at him almost like a sad puppy

He laughed and poked her cheek

She laughed as well

“Welp..seems like my friends had better things to be doing..sorry you couldn't meet them all today..” he said remorsefully

“It's okay I'll meet them another time..right?” She asked smiling

“Of course you will” he smiled back
