On April of 24th, 2024, an unknown person shot Sunny in his abdomen while celebrating a picnic with his friends and Mari. The shooter was caught hiding in the bushes by Hero but unfortunately ran away before he could do anything. Wounded, Hero called 911 as a response. The following shows the operator with Hero on an emergency line as him and others were helping Sunny to slow the bleeding.
Operator:
"911, what's your emergency?"
Hero:
"Hello... we need an ambulance quick! M- my friend was shot in the abdomen and is bleeding!"
Operator:
"Okay, okay... calm down. Are there anybody else with you?"
Hero:
"Yes, I am with 3 of my other friends and they're helping him to slow the bleeding!"
Operator:
"Alright... we need your address, honey."
Hero:
"I- it's at [REDACTED]."
Operator:
"Alright... we've dispatched an ambulance on the way and officers to investigate the situation. I want you to do the following while emergency is on their way. ETA 4 minutes."
Hero:
"Okay, okay... w- what should I do...?"
Operator:
"I want you to keep pressuring on your friend's wound for as long as you can. If anything you found that can be used as a bandage, roll across the abdomen and make sure it fits around. Use a splint if the bullet is stuck within and take it out carefully. Stay on the line."
Hero:
"Alright... alright..."
The first two minutes shows Hero, still on the line with the operator, can be heard helping Mari and Kel to pressurize Sunny's wound.
Hero:
[inaudible] "...can you lean over the tree?"
Sunny:
"...barely. I- I can't feel my legs at all..."
Hero:
"Stay with us for a moment, alright? You'll be fine, Sunny... you'll be fine."
Kel:
"The bullet is still stuck inside... what should we do?"
Hero:
"A splint... or a scissor that can fit to take out the bullet."
Mari:
"Here! I found a scissor that I kept!"
[inaudible]
Hero:
"...there. Now I just need to roll this cloth around you."
...
Hero:
"Okay... that should do it. Can you still feel your arms, Sunny?"
Sunny:
"Y- yeah, I can."
Hero:
"Good. Keep pressuring on the wound."
Mari:
"I'll stay with him over here. You and Kel can wait outside of the park."
Hero:
"...hold on, I need to get back on the line..."
...
Hero:
"Hello?"
Operator:
"Hello. Is your friend feeling slightly well?"
Hero:
"Yeah... he is. I took out the bullet and rolled a cloth around the abdomen. I think he should be fine."
Operator:
"Did you tell him to pressurize the wound?"
Hero:
"Yes, I did."
Operator:
"Okay. Emergency is 2 minutes away from your location."
2 minutes passed by, and first responders arrived at their picnic spot. Sunny was immediately rushed over by the paramedics and put him inside of the ambulance before being given first aid. Officers also arrived at the scene to investigate the shooting that occurred. The following shows an audio recording of a police bodycam footage that was classified due to disturbing moments that were shown.
Officer Emerson:
"Hello, kids. This is with Officer Emerson and my colleagues behind; Officer Collins and Officer Kent."
Hero:
"Hello, Officer... as you can... see, our friend was shot. I- I saw the shooter hiding behind the bushes from a distance in our picnic area, but they ran away before I could... do anything."
Officer Emerson:
"Hmm... alright. Looks like we need to set up a perimeter around the park."
...
Officer Emerson:
[inaudible] "...Kent, call in aerial support. We're code gray on all units available."
Officer Kent:
"Okay."
...
Hero:
"So... is there any way to find the shooter?"
Officer Emerson:
"Tracking down is quite a challenge. Shooter might've ran away through that... thick forest behind the picnic area. That's where a helicopter will circle above to locate them."
Aubrey:
"Ugh... just make it quick. I really, really want to punch their face for this!"
Hero:
"Aubrey... this is no violent matter for now. Let the officers do their job."
Aubrey:
"Whatever."
...
Hero:
"Basil, did you take the picture of the shooter before they ran away?"
Basil:
"Yes, I did. Here it is..."
...
Officer Collins:
"Shooter's identification is a white male, looks like... 5'8, leather jacketed, and I can see his beard visible from the picture."
Officer Emerson:
"I see the gun he's holding on the picture... either a 1911 or a Glock."
Hero:
"Wait... how can you identify the gun he is holding?"
Officer Emerson:
"Do you have the bullet you took out?"
Hero:
"Yes. It's ziplocked here."
...
Officer Collins:
".45 ACP... has to be a 1911."
Officer Emerson:
"From the picture, the grip does look like a model of the M1911. It ain't far from the cartridge it supports."
Aubrey:
"Is it that easy for you guys to just identify a gun by telling what bullet it uses?"
Hero:
"Aubrey, they're police officers. They have more experience about this than us."
Aubrey:
"Oh, sorry."
Around 1:22 PM, a helicopter can be seen flying above the picnic area, the spotlight became bright as it was circling to search for the shooter.
NCE1491:
"This is November Charlie Echo, One Four Niner One. Aerial support inbound. We're circling above the perimeter to find the suspect, over."
...
Hero:
"How long will the search last?"
Officer Emerson:
"About... 15-20 minutes, depending on the crimes a suspect have committed."
Hero:
"So... the shooter had shot Sunny in the abdomen... does that count as an attempted murder?"
Officer Emerson:
"Yep. It is considered a felony nonetheless."
Aubrey:
"Hmph. I hope that guy will rot in prison."
Around 2:44 PM, the conversation became less serious. Until at 2:50 PM, it was reported that the helicopter that was circling above the picnic area, was being shot by what the officers would assume to be the shooter who had shot Sunny. The gunshot wasn't that far off from the area and other officers who were below the helicopter's view began to chatter with another officers in the park.
Officer Hoover:
"10-74, CODE RED! TANGO SPOTTED FROM NORTHEAST! REQUESTING AN IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE, OVER!"
Basil:
"W- WHAT WAS THAT?!"
Hero:
"QUICK! GET SUNNY TO A SAFE PLACE!"
...
NCE1491:
"WE'RE HIT, WE'RE HIT!"
Officer Solomon:
"OFFICER DOWN! REPEAT, OFFICER DOWN! TANGO IS FIRING BACK!"
Officer Emerson:
"Copy that! We're moving into your position! Hold your ground!"
The three officers who were just at the park immediately left the spot and quickly rushed in to support the other officers who were on the line of fire by the shooter.
SWAT Unit 1:
"Tango is moving northeast!"
[hail of gunfire missing over Emerson]
Officer Emerson:
"Give me cover fire!"
SWAT Unit 2:
"He's backing away!"
...
SWAT Unit 1:
[inaudible] "...over the bushes!"
SWAT Unit 3:
"Flashbang!"
[loud deafening noise]
???:
[inaudible] "...you'll never catch me alive!"
...
Officer Solomon:
"Cover fire! Cover fire! We need medevac on the line! Two officers down!"
On what sounded like an eternal firefight, the shooter was eventually pinned down and shot by a sniper from the helicopter above them.
CF-32:
"Charlie Foxtrot 32, suspect neutralized. Allowed to approach, over."
...
Officer Emerson:
"10-44, shooter is dead. I repeat, to all units, shooter is dead."
SWAT Unit 4:
"Dusted!"
After the officers confirmed the death of the shooter, which at the time of the recording's unclassified status, never been revealed by the Faraway PD, the officers returned back to the park, with Sunny still inside of the ambulance, awaiting further orders from the dispatchers.
Hero:
"...is it clear? Did the shooter die?"
Officer Emerson:
"Yes, the shooter has been neutralized."
Mari:
"Oh, thank god... I can't imagine what would happen if the guy still lived..."
Aubrey:
"Hmph, not a chance!"
...
Officer Emerson:
"Doc, is the patient secure?"
Dr. Montgomery:
"Yes, sir. Patient is at a stable condition. Should we move along and send him to the hospital?"
Officer Emerson:
"Yes. Dispatchers have given a greenlight. You're free to go."
Hero:
"Again... I couldn't thank you guys a lot for our friend's safety."
Mari:
"Thank you, officers... for saving my brother. Especially the paramedics too."
Officer Emerson:
"We appreciate the support, children. We should get going now. The body will be donated to science."
...
Officer Emerson:
"10-33, dispatch, area secured and clear of threats. No sign of civilian casualties except for the shooter, over."
Dispatch:
"Copy that. You are clear to RTB."
The recording was then cut short after the officer said goodbye, and the footage was, as stated before, classified. The audio has since been archived and kept for recreational purposes. The two officers who died by the shooter were Lieutenant Haynes and Lieutenant Clover. A statue of the two fallen officers were built by the mayor as a sign of their heroic action and respect. Ever since then, Faraway restricted the freedom to buy guns without license and prompted for a town-wide ban of gun selling without a signatory by the ATF.
