“Arven, you awake?” Nemona shouted from outside his dorm. Arven groaned as he sat up and moved his hair from his face. He rolled out of bed and, with the help of Mabostiff, got ready for the day.
”I’m coming, I’m coming.” Arven yawned as he slugged out of his dorm room with his trusty backpack. Nemona grinned before running over to Penny’s dorm.
”Penny wake up! Arven’s was faster than you this time!” Nemona shouted as she pounded at the door. A few moments later Penny walked out, picking at her uniform.
”I hate wearing this…” Penny grumbled as she pulled her Eevee backpack up. “What’s going on today anyways?”
”Well… I’m not sure actually.” Nemona hummed as she tapped her chin. “All I know is that there’s an announcement and event going on so let’s go!”

“Good morning students!” Director Clavell announced as he stood at the podium in the middle of the atrium. The students were sitting in rows in front of him, the teachers were by his sides. “Today is an exciting week for you all! We are going to begin the Familial Week Run!” The students cheered wildly and loudly, though Nemona and Penny couled tell Arven was not going to like this. “For this event, you students will be going to be using Pokemon that your families have used in the past. You will be given time to train them up before we host a two day Championship with your new team of Pokemon. The winner of the Championship will be awarded with a special surprise!” Hushed gasped and murmurs ran through the crowd as the bell went off.
”Oh I can’t wait to ask Mom for her Dragonair!”
”My Dad just had a Tatsugiri… I’m screwed!”
”I mean, I’m using the same team my mom uses…”
”Oh no… But I’m allergic to Shinx!”
”Should I use Mom’s or Dad’s team..?”
”My Dad has a Gryados! How am I going to train up a Magikarp for that?!”
Arven rolled his eyes while Mabostiff looked up at him worriedly. Mabostiff nudged Arven’s leg, snapping him out of his trance. “Oh… hey buddy.” Arven absentmindedly scratched Mabostiff’s head before heading inside, ignoring Nemona and Penny.

It was break time when the three got together again. Nemona and Penny found Arven sitting in the shade of a tree watching the other students battling each other and hanging around.
”Arven! We couldn’t find you during lunch!” Nemona exclaimed as she sat next to Arven with a thud. Nemona’s new Yamper ran up and began to play around with Arven’s lounging Masbostiff.
”Yea… you didn’t pick up any of my calls either.” Penny shrugged as a Brongzor floated behind her.
”Who uses a Brongzor in your family?” Nemona asked as the Brongzor floated up to Arven’s face. Arven gently swatted the Brongzor away as he pulled out his Rotom phone.
”My dad uses it.” Penny shrugged. “Real big Steel-type enthusiast to say the least.”
”Ohhh, is he the one that says the Adven-tour thing?”
”Yea. It’s so stupid to be honest.” Penny groaned and rolled her eyes. “I mean, I could’ve used Mom’s team but she doesn’t use as many Pokemon as Dad anyways.”
Arven squinted as he looked over and stared at Penny’s hair. “Penny, is your blue and red hair dyed in?”
Penny pushed her glasses up, a bit confused. “Uh yea, thought that was obvious.”
Nemona gasped before sitting upright. “Then what’s your natural hair color!?”
Penny shuffled backwards a bit while Arven pulled Nemona down by her shirt. “Personal space Nemona.” Arven sighed.
”Right right!” Nemona giggled as she sat back down, though her eyes were still bright. “So what’s your natural hair colour!?”
Penny slowly sat back down before grabbing her Rotom phone and pulled out a picture. Nemona gawked at the picture before squealing in delight. “You were so cute as a baby!” Penny’s face turned red with embarrassment in response. Nemona gasped before pulling out her phone and showed Penny a baby picture of hers.
”Even as a baby you had such a big smile.” Penny chuckled. “Arven uh… surely you do have some baby pictures too right?”
Arven mumbled for a moment before looking up and seeing a couple other students heading their way. “Hey Penny!”
”Wha-!” Penny got tackled by two blurs but managed to wiggle her way free from the pile. Giacomo and Eri had stupidly large grins while the other three caught up.
“Finally we found you!” Mela sighed with relief. “Giacomo and Eri were getting very annoying.”
”For once I agree with Mela.” Ortega huffed as he swung the top of his cane into his hand. “They were growing more and more hyper by the minute.”
Nemona chuckled as she watched the former Team Star leaders catch up more and chat while leaning next to Arven in the grass. “You good buddy?”
Arven just looked away from the girl and stared back at the battlefields where the other kids were training. Nemona hummed quietly, not wanting to prod Arven any further. Mabostiff nuzzled Arven’s hand and quietly squeaked. Arven looked down and scratched Mabostiff’s chin, though he almost seemed like he was in a trance.
”Nemona! You must be the one that has the Champion rank right!” Eri exclaimed as her attention diverted to the girl with the green streak. “I have been meaning to ask and battle you!”
Nemona immediately sat up straight. “Finally! A challenger!” Arven chuckled as he slowly got to follow the others to watch the two battle each other.
