Jack didn't use pet names often usually opting to just use the name of his partner. Which made the times he did use pet names so much more special to Dave.
The pair were sitting at a table during work while trying to avoid doing said work. There were only about 2 hours left meaning they didn't have to wear the suits and just needed to pass the time and avoid boredom. Granted they should also be cleaning not sitting around bored but details, details.
Either way this is exactly what led to the current sight. Of the pair trying to make a very tall tower of cups out of all the non glass cups they had found.(Steven was thanking foxy they had at least thought about this enough to do that.) They we're building it in the shape of a pyramid with all the cups facing down and placing the new layer of cups on top of the in-between space. But it keeps either falling over or getting knocked over because of making the base layer to small and not thinking of just adding to it.
"Fuck, still not enough on the bottom!" Jack called to Dave from the other side of the booth where they'd been building this.
"Time to start again!" Dave yelled.
As he yelled he flung himself at the cups and at Jack, which lead to the sounds of plastic and paper cups falling to the floor and Jack being knocked over onto the booth. They both made and 'oof' sound as they hit each other.
"Hiya Sportsy" Dave said with a grin as he looked at his orange companion.
"What the hell babe" Jack says look at Dave who is grinning at him from his resting place on his chest.
Dave's face lights up, "oh my god, did you just call me babe???"
Jack's face flushes red and he gives Dave a small smile before looking away out of 'oh god I love him a d but Jesus Christ pet names don't sound right coming out of my mouth'.
With that they try and fail to find the right number of cups for the bottom layer for the rest of their shift. All while Dave has a lovestruck grin on his face.
