groaning as he wakes up, matthew sits up when his alarm is set to go off at 7am. he reluctantly pulls from his boyfriends arms and slides out of bed. matthew yawns as he goes to the bathroom to begin getting ready until he hears a loud boom and heavy rain fall. his eyes widen and he jumps back in bed with his boyfriend, hiding under the blankets as he checks the weather app on his phone. yup. just as he thought, it was going to be storming all day. it started at 2am, though matthew was still sleeping so he wouldnt know. frowning and texting his manager that he couldnt make it due to the storm, he sets his phone back down on the side table before he buries his face into his boyfriends chest, sighing as he inhales the familiar scent.
usually, hanbin woke up at 9 to get ready for work at 10 but with the way his tiny boyfriend held onto him, hanbin couldnt pull himself to get up. he looks out to the window, seeing and hearing heavy rain fall accompanied by hail and thunder. since hanbin was the owner of the bakery down the street, he decided that staying closed today wouldnt be a problem since he probably wouldnt even get many, if any, customers. so, hanbin rubs matthews back gently, pulling him into his chest as he plants a soft kiss to his cheek and snuggles back under the sheets with him for a couple more hours of extra sleep and warmth with him.
around noon is when they both start getting up. matthew blinking his eyes open to see an already awake hanbin, staring at him. “why do you always do thaaaaattt?” matthew whines and covers his face. “because i find you adorable when you're asleep. even more so than when you're awake~” hanbin teases him, hiding his face in matthew's neck. matthew blushes and rubs his eyes as he grabs his phone to check what his manager said. matthew feels hanbin kissing his neck which only makes matthew giggle and try to pull away before theyre both a laughing mess on the bed. “ahh, hanbinnie, let's get up.” matthew whines a bit as he tucks his phone away, not caring about it when he's with his boyfriend. “fineee” the older male groans out before he laughs and climbs out of bed, pulling matthew with him.
after brushing their teeth, changing clothes and hanbin making them both some food (which was just ramen because neither of them were too hungry), they sat on the bed, giggling over silly things on matthew’s tiktok. “baby, watch this!” he point to his screen which hanbin's eyes were already on. “oh my god,” he laughs out with his boyfriend over someone getting jump scared. “noo, that's so bad.” before they're both laugh again. the whole day consists of laying around together, matthew's head in hanbin's lap and hanbin's fingers raking through his hair as they talk about anything and everything. around 5pm, they get bored again and matthew pops up from his spot on the couch.
“what are you doing?” hanbin asks, glancing up from his phone at his boyfriend. “it’s perfect weather for a fire, is it not?” he hums and bends down, attempting to light up the fire place. “it is but-“ hanbin watches him before he laughs softly. “-here, let me.” he says, tossing his phone aside before he stands up and goes to him. matthew laughs and sits aside, kneeling beside the fire place as he watches hanbin fight a stick from the pile and toss it in. hanbin leans down, gently blowing on the fire until it sparks up, a small whoosh could be heard as the fire grows bigger, now burning the logs. “there we go, is that better?” hanbin asks, looking over at his boyfriend who was already staring at him fondly. “it's perfect, my love.” he says before he's launching over to the older. he wraps his arms around his neck and kisses him. with a small oof sound falling from his lips, hanbin holds matthew's waist as he kisses him back with a small laugh. “let's get some blankets and watch a movie here.” hanbin says against matthew's lips softly.
a loud bang can be heard as the matthew gasps and looks out the window, seeing the trees light up from the lightning and thunder. hanbin holds onto matthew before the smaller male in his lap looks back at him, scared but hanbin makes a silly face causing them both to laugh. “come on, i'm starving! what should we make?” “what about ordering food? the mexican restaurant next door still delivers, right?” hanbin asks as they both stand up and matthew goes to the room, changing into his comfy sweat pants and a black tank top. “i think so, jiwoong hyung hasn't told me otherwise!” hanbin looks over at his boyfriend when he comes back out and just smiles, admiring him. every little thing about matthew made hanbin fall even more madly in love with him. the way his nose scrunched up when he laughed, the little moles all over his body, his soft hair, his chubby cheeks, hanbin was always staring at him.
“hello? earth to hanbinnie?” matthew waves his hand in front of his face which earns a small laugh from hanbin before he replies to him. “hanbin isn't here right now due to his boyfriend being so cute. matthew brain rot.” he says in a robotic voice and pretends to be an actual robot, shutting down. matthew laughs loudly and shoves at his shoulder before he walks to the couch. “i'm dating a nerd!” he yells out as he sits down and covers his face, laughing. hanbin nods, laughing as he sits down next to him, cuddling into his side. “you knew what you were getting into 3 years ago, babe.” he comments and matthew nods, agreeing as he slides his fingers through his boyfriend's blonde hair. “well, yes! and i wouldn't change it for the world, love.” he says and leans down, kissing his nose gently. hanbin’s cheeks heat up as he smiles, his whisker lines showing as matthew squishes his cheeks. “i love your smile.” he pouts and plants a kiss to each of hanbin’s cheeks before he smiles at him.
with a loud knock to their front door, hanbin gets up to go get their food while matthew sets up the living room table since they were gonna watch a scary movie in there. “oh, thank you!” hanbin bows and carries the 2 bags containing their food. “oh, where is the rice? and the salsa?” matthew asks as hanbin hands them to him right after the other. “you know me too well.” he says and hanbin replies “well duh, i've known you for 5 years, matthew.” he says with a small laugh. after setting everything up and getting cozy, the two eat peacefully while watching the movie. hanbin gives matthew some of his enchiladas which the younger gives him some asada in return. they usually shared their food anyways so this wasn't anything new, just their little habit of always taking care of the other. with matthew leaning against hanbin’s shoulder each time he takes a bite and shares his food with him, hanbin rests his head on matthew's each time his was on his shoulder. hanbin feeds matthew a small piece of his food which the other enjoyed since matthew loved the feeling of hanbin spoiling him. “thank you, it's so good! it's the chicken ones, right?” he asks as he sips his drink. “yeah, it's my favorite!” hanbin says with a big smile.
the storm rages on and the two are still cuddled together, their leftovers having been put away as hanbin held matthew against him. matthew rested his head on hanbins chest and felt his eyes getting heavier with each time he blinked. “you sleepy?” hanbin asks matthew as he pushed his black hair back from his face. “just a little. can we stay here?” matthew mumbles as he looks up at him. “yeah, of course, baby.” towards the end of the movie, the two had fallen asleep on the couch, hanbin laying on his left side with matthew facing him, face buried into hanbin's chest and hanbin's arms around matthew's small waist. though shifting to fit them both on the small couch they had, the two were quite comfortable.
hanbin probably needed to open his store tomorrow but the rain didn't seem like it was letting up anytime soon and yes, matthew could just walk to his job since it's near the bakery, he didn't want to walk in the rain so he just decided to take a few days off, while it was storming, and spend them with his boyfriend. since the two had busy schedules often, they didn't have time to just have days to themselves like these anymore. despite hating storms, matthew was glad it was pouring down rain for the next few days so he could stay in the house and spend as much time as he could with hanbin. having matthew in his arms, cuddled up against him and the dim light from the tv and lightning, hanbin couldn't be happier for a storm to allow him to spend time with his beloved matthew.
