Work Text:
Inumaki was a very famous streamer, probably one of the biggest on the platform. His username was “Onigiri,” but almost all of his audience just called him Inumaki. His content was very varied, but he mainly focused on video games. He didn’t really talk; he used subtitles on his lives and videos, and he also used ASL sometimes. Obviously, he didn’t talk about his private life. He had only briefly mentioned his parents sometimes, and he occasionally played with friends (specifically one named ‘Panda’ and another one named Itadori). No one knew if he was in a relationship, but that changed very quickly one day.
Inumaki was playing a horror game; everything was going fine until a loud noise was heard in the game. That scared Inumaki, and he accidentally fell off his chair. The chair fell too, obviously making a very noisy sound, and when the chat was asking if he was fine, a voice was heard:
“Honey, are you okay? I heard something falling,” the voice said—well, more likely screamed—because whoever was talking was definitely not in the room, and his voice was heard anyway.
Inumaki muted his microphone and then said something. Obviously, the viewers didn’t hear him, but that was not important. He actually spoke?! The chat was going crazy, to say the least. Inumaki unmuted his microphone, and the subtitles just showed, “I’m sorry for that. Where were we?” The chat obviously didn’t respond to the question; the only things readable because of the speed the chat was going were, “Who was that?” “Chat, clip that!” “Did anyone record it?” “Did the voice call him honey?????” and stuff like that. Inumaki checked the video game screen, and he was dead, meaning he had to start the game all over again. He was not in the mood, so he checked how much time he had been streaming—3 hours. He quickly said goodbye to the chat and ended the stream.
He walked out of the room, through a lot of halls, and down some massive stairs. His house was huge, to say the least. When he arrived at the living room, he saw a man resting on the couch. The man was looking at his phone, so he didn’t see him arrive. Toge smiled at the sight of that man because that man was his husband, Okkotsu Yuta.
He and Yuta met in high school. They started dating in almost the middle of their first year. Yuta was the first son of a very wealthy family. He was from Switzerland, but both of his parents were Japanese. Their high school was in Paris, France; both of them were exchange students. They got married in Switzerland, which is where they live right now.
Yuta noticed Toge standing behind him.
“Did you finish your stream?” Toge nodded in response. “Stop standing there; come here.” And Toge did that. He sat next to him on the couch, leaning his head on Yuta’s shoulder.
“What do you think about making our relationship public?” Toge spoke.
“Where did that question come from?”
“I think they heard you calling me honey.”
“Oh, well, I don’t really care. My romantic life doesn’t really make an impact on my job, so if you want to make it public, I’m totally open to the idea, if you want to, obviously.”
“Really?”
“Yes. What did you think I was gonna say?”
“I don’t know; I didn’t think of that.”
“Well, as long as you’re comfortable, I don’t have any problem, dear.” He placed a kiss on Toge’s forehead. “I would be happy to let the world know the amazing husband I have.” He smiled. Toge loved Yuta’s smiles.
“So, how do you want to do it?” Toge asked.
“I don’t know. What ideas do you have?”
“I could probably invite you to one of my streams.”
“I like that idea.”
“Really?” Yuta left his phone aside and kissed Toge.
“Yes,” he smiled.
“Are you free on Saturday?”
“I think so, yes.”
“Then it will be on Saturday. I’ll set up everything.”
“What do you mean? Can’t we just start the stream?”
“We can, yes, but I usually announce every time I have a special guest.”
“So I’m a special guest?”
“Of course you are.” He stood up. “I’ll go set everything up. Be right back.”
“Ok. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
Toge walked to his stream room. He turned on his computer and posted on Instagram and Twitter (obviously):
“Stream with a special guest on Saturday! You won’t want to miss it. This is probably the best guest I’ve streamed with ;) - Onigiri
(Link to his account)”
The post quickly started receiving a lot of attention. People speculated about who might be this special guest. Almost all of the replies mentioned celebrities, some others streamers, some others YouTubers, or even actors/movie directors. Toge was going to love the reaction they’ll have when they find out that they probably don’t know his guest. Yuta was a very famous figure in the business world, but he really doubted any of his followers would know him or guess he was going to be the guest. He was already picturing all his fan accounts going crazy, and even the news talking about it (probably), since Yuta was actually pretty famous too. He could imagine the headlines of the articles: “Famous streamer Onigiri dating Yuta Okkotsu” or something like that.
He was excited, very excited.
And so, Saturday arrived in the blink of an eye. Toge was setting up a chair next to his. The stream was already starting; the waiting screen was already visible to him and his viewers. In 5 minutes, the whole world would meet his husband.
“I’m ready,” Yuta walked into the room. “Do I need to help with anything?”
“Uh, no. Everything is fine. Stay by the door for a little while. When I tell you, come and sit down.”
“Okay. Do I need to say something or anything like that? I’ve never been on a stream.”
Toge laughed. “I know. Don’t worry. Just act like yourself.”
“I don’t feel like acting like myself in front of thousands of people is a good idea.” Toge laughed again.
“Don’t worr—oh, wait, just 30 seconds before starting.” Toge could feel how Yuta was more nervous than before. It was actually very normal for him to be very nervous or anxious.
Toge waved his hand at the camera while the subtitles started greeting the chat.
“Oh yeah, let’s greet our special guest,” the subtitles wrote. Toge looked at Yuta and gestured for him to sit.
“Hello,” Yuta greeted the chat a little shyly.
Toge searched Yuta’s name on Google to explain who he was.
“Yuta, would you mind introducing yourself a little bit more?” the subtitles showed again.
“Well, I think you already saw everything, but there’s something missing.” He looked at Toge and smiled; Toge returned the smile. “I’m Toge’s husband,” he spoke. “His surname is actually Okkotsu,” he added. Toge rolled his eyes as a joke.
“Well, you heard him.” Toge showed his ring to the camera. It was a rose gold pink tourmaline ring. He also had a white gold jadeite ring. “The pink one is my wedding ring, and the green one is my engagement ring. Show yours.”
Yuta showed his hand, revealing a platinum padparadscha sapphire ring.
The chat went crazy. Everyone was talking about the relationship reveal; it appears that no one expected it. There were also some homophobic comments that Toge ignored, but Yuta appeared a little disturbed. Toge held his hand, and he started to calm down. The chat was talking about how lucky they were because both of them were ridiculously good-looking. Some of them were saying that they’d make tons of edits of Yuta; others talked about their rings and how the gems on them were hella expensive. Toge answered some questions from the chat:
“How long have you been married?” 3 years, but we’ve been together for 7.
“Do you live together?” Obviously.
“Do you have pets?” We have a golden retriever and a snake.
“How’s the top?” Next question.
Very basic questions. Yuta was enjoying it so far, except for the homophobic comments. He was definitely not enjoying them.
Everything went great, and now the world knew how amazing his husband is.
