Work Text:

Calls of 'good morning' exchanged between students in the halls, the floor rumbling as others scurried and scrambled off. Most of them greeted Techno in a polite manner.

The pink haired senior could only extend a free hand and wave to his fellow peers. On the other hand, was a checklist filled with neat handwriting, unreadable to any other normal person's eyes, because it was only catered to his and his own liking only. A small huff, he'd like to complain, but this wasn't the correct time to do so as he walked to the Student Council club.

It was already full of chatter inside, and he was sure it was because of her.

Once the doorknob turned, however, Techno stood there in the doorway looking clean as ever. His gaze could only be towards the podium in the middle of the room and there were chairs pulled to form multiple rows here and there. Each member of the club snapped their heads immediately, almost a little shocked. Just like the normal routine, they got up and formally greeted him with a small head bow.

Of course, he'd normally be pissed at how unkempt his surrounding was, but right now... that wasn't the biggest issue.

Strides forward. He was calm, cool, collected. Almost a little too calm—everyone felt a little uneasy. Like the room had quickly fallen ill.

"We'll arrange the chairs..."  Someone began, but the president had already cut him off.

"It's fine. It's not a bother."  Techno swiftly replied, not even bothering to look at the person's way, but he hoped his usually gruffy and unfeeling tone would come off as warm even for a split second.

Right now, he could not ignore the irregular beating hammering in his chest.

While all the talks and conversations in the club's volume had lowered down to mere whispers, the Vice President was dressed as neat as ever today. Ignore the way how Techno looked utterly mesmerized, his legs feeling shaky the more he stepped closer to the podium. He wanted to smile for her, he really almost wanted to.

He should have forced himself to do so, but it would only look awkward. He clutched onto the to-do list in his left hand before clearing his throat.

"Ev... everything fine?"  He inquired in an unusual soft voice. "Need my help?"

Today, he hoped not to look like a fool. At least of all today when he has finally drawn to the conclusion. Whether it was a slow realization or the pesky rumors that he chose to remain ignorant to until now... he bit the inside of his cheek. Techno was just waiting for the right moment, some privacy between the two of them. His nails were digging onto the only thing he was clutching onto right now, a checklist that had yet to be filled up.

"It's fine, not a problem."  The VP answered clearly with a small smile, did it always look that beautiful?  "It's my job anyways."  She nodded along at the conversation.

Of course! Why hadn't he realized any earlier? He could feel the corners of his mouth turning up without his permission. He smiled, too.

Ever since she had been given the rightful spot of Vice President, the second most important position in the school right beside him, rumors always circulated around the halls that they could be in a relationship of some sort. It was pretty normal, just average school talk and a random topic to fill in a gossipy conversation.

But now, he almost wanted to confirm those rumors.

A. Her attitude.

In his eyes, many students were originally worried that she wouldn't meet certain criteria. Especially when standing next to Techno who was a big deal from the beginning. She was kind and was never afraid to extend a helping hand. Actually, just a few days later, they were all very surprised and all doubts had been cleared. Apart from being a great prime example of a student at school, she could definitely kick ass. Something Techno immediately noted down quickly after.

B. Bad as hell, beautiful.

No reason to elaborate. He's always thought she was beautiful. Not like his deadpan glare would ever give that away.

C. Can't believe he has her all to himself.

Which was a half-truth. Yes, they were seen together a lot of the times, but only because they were both President and VP. Naturally, they were assigned a lot of errands and tasks. This all seemed complementary—the two of them always together. Why  shouldn't  they be a couple, anyway?

Now Techno was in a very good mood, the thought remaining in his mind even after announcing all the events and general news happening in the school. Not to mention, his tone seemed to be much more upbeat. Every single member who whispered amongst themselves in the room thought he had gotten sick. Once everyone had scattered off and out of the club room, he took what was once easy steps—now hard ones, to her.

Spring had just begun after all. Why not let another feeling blossom out of this beating heart of his?

His hands felt shakier than usual. But that's okay, he extended them out enough to the point where she had turned around, a raise of an eyebrow as a reply before looking down onto the checklist.

☐  Will you go out with me?
