Vaggie and Charlie were walking happily back to the hotel hand in hand; they had just finished an interview with Katie Killjoy and were looking forward to the positive feedback. They arrived back to find everyone at Husker’s (Husk) bar, all except Alastor, who was standing next to Niffty with his usual maniacal smile. "So, doll face, how did your interview go?" Angel Dust (Angel) asked Charlie as Husker poured everyone another round of drinks. "It was awesome!" Charlie squealed in delight. Vaggie smiled at her lover's excitement, "Relax, babe. You might explode with excitement." "Vaggie is right," Lucifer smiled, having finally gotten his daughter's lover's name right. Walking up to Charlie, he gave her a tight hug. "I am so proud of you, sweetheart." “Thanks, Dad,” Charlie said, returning the hug. Adjusting his monocle, he said, “As touching as the scene is, I do believe we have a re-opening to prepare for.”
It was the evening of the re-opening of the hotel. Alastor, with his showmanship, had welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support. Charlie was happily talking to the overlords when she noticed Angel Dust sitting at the bar with a worried expression on his face. Putting a gentle hand on Angel's shoulder, Charlie asked him softly, "What's wrong, Angel? Normally you're the life of the party. I have never seen you this quiet before." Gulping his drink down in one go and signalling Husker (Husk) for another one, he turned to Charlie and said, "I am worried about Cherri. I haven't seen her for a while now. And with all these turf wars, she could be dead, and I wouldn't even know!" "How about I go and help you look tomorrow?" "I would like that, doll face, but I think you have a girlfriend waiting to dance with you." Hugging Angel, she walked over to Vaggie.
Charlie watched as the last person left. "That was awesome!" she said excitedly. "I am so proud of you, sweetie," Lucifer said, hugging his daughter. "I must concur, it was a most delightful evening." They turned as they heard Vaggie say in a frustrated voice, "Niffty! You can clean up tomorrow!" But Niffty shook her head and began sweeping with more vigor. Alastor chuckled slightly at Niffty before saying, "I am off to bed. I will see you all in the morning." He was about to leave when there was a loud and urgent knock at the door. Lucifer opened the door and gasped in shock. Standing at the door was his eldest daughter. "Emily! What are you doing here?" "Hi, Mama," Emily greeted nervously. "Can I come in? I need to talk to you and Charlie. It's urgent."
