The past still haunts Charles every now and then. The images of Westchester, his sister, X-Men, all of his children – he supposes it will be a long time till he lets memories be memories, and even longer till the pain behind them fades, but he’s not bothered anymore. He has the life to focus on, peaceful mornings brightened by the sunrise’s colours, friends he made on Genosha, and the man he’s fallen crazy for. And it’s more than he’s ever dreamt of having.
“Lucky telepath,” he lets the words fill the air between them, his smile widening when Erik chuckles fondly in response.
