The small Café was more peaceful than what Choi Jung Soo had initially anticipated when he had set out to meet with his friends.
There was only the Barista at the counter and just a lonely redhead young man having some cake at one of the tables by the window.
Enjoying some tea and looking serene as the sunlight danced over him in an enchanting display, making him look ethereal.
Choi jung soo took a moment to pinch himself to make sure he was seeing right. Wondering if it was physically possible for a human being to look like an exotic painting. He even went out of the door and entered again three times just to make sure he was still in the same world.
The presence of the Barista standing behind the counter with all kinds of sweet delicacies on display did confirm that he was still in the same world.
The aforementioned Barista's judgmental stare and raised eyebrow helped too as he felt himself be filled with embarrassment and remembered that he was still standing at the door, like a fool.
He quickly looked away to spare himself further embarrassment but ended up meeting the eyes of the handsome stranger instead, who gave him a confused smile and made his brain short-circuit.
If the redhead hadn't been moving, Jung Soo would have thought of him as a beautiful statue instead.
This was the moment when Choi Jung Soo should have just smiled back politely and continued on his way.
Place his order and grabbed himself a seat to wait for the other two.
That was what anyone else would do. Someone like Roksoo for instance.
But because it was Choi jung soo and not Kim Rok Soo, he went towards the redhead instead to apologize for staring.
Seeing him profusely apologizing for being so rude, the confused redhead waved it off with a smile and assured him it was fine.
He even offered him a seat and shared his cake!
Choi Jung decided, then and there, that they would now be the best of friends!
Since the place was empty and there was no one else besides them, Jung Soo stuck around the guy even after apologizing and being forgiven because he was a very social and outgoing person and had decided in his head that the guy could use some friends.
'Why else would he be here all alone?'
He started talking to him about all kinds of things much to the stranger's amusement.
That was the scene Lee Soo Hyuk walked in on.
He faltered for a minute before putting on a perfectly charming smile and moving towards the duo that was busy conversing.
He knew for a fact that they didn't know any redheads. So, this was probably just a poor soul that got caught by his over eager dongsaeng while trying to enjoy some peace and quiet.
His dongsaeng was the type of person who found it hard to believe that some people just liked to enjoy some peaceful time alone.
He had planned to walk over to them, apologize and hopefully drag jung soo away to set the poor guy free.
Feeling a little sorry for the unusually good-looking stranger as he reached close enough to hear his dongsaeng's rant about Rok Soo acting like a dragon with his hoard, everytime they tried to pry about his boyfriend.
"He didn't even tell us his name! They have been together for almost a decade now! A decade! And we don't even know his name!"
It was a very familiar rant. It wasn't like Roksoo was actively hiding his boyfriend or anything. Their youngest was just a very private person and prone to giving extremely short, one word or sentence answers, since he was too lazy to explain too much.
It's not that they didn't know anything , they knew a lot actually, they knew that the two met very young and had been friends since a long time before they even got together. They knew that the other loved sweets and loathed sour things just like their youngest and that he looked like he walked straight out of Fantasy novel. Or so Roksoo says.
In fact, they knew enough about him for them to even consider him a part of them too. They did hope to meet the guy soon though, maybe they can finally bully Roksoo into introducing them today.
Lee Soo Hyuk sweat-dropped at his dongsaeng's antics as Jung soo went to introduce him to the stranger only to realize that he hadn't even asked for his name yet.
Seriously, these punks.
Before they could go through another round of awkward apologies, the red head stood up to offer his hand instead and introduced himself first.
"Hello, I am Cale."
He smiled and Lee Soo Hyuk had an epiphany.
'It is actually possible for people to look like a fictional character.'
Now, Soo hyuk had full faith in his dongsaeng and his judgment but love tended to be blind and he had always thought that Rok Soo might be subconsciously exaggerating his partner's beauty.
Afterall, no one actually looked like they walked out of the pages of a fantasy book.
'Yet, here we are.'
Now that he has discovered that people like that do exist in real world, he wanted to see his dongsaeng's reaction to Cale's beauty and maybe use it as a gouge to guess what their future brother-in-law might look like.
Instead of dragging Jung soo away, he took a seat, to wait for Rok Soo here instead and joined in on the conversation as it shifted to him now that jung soo was introducing him to Cale and telling him all about Soo Hyuk's acting skills.
Seeing that he wouldn't stop praising his talents, Soo hyuk proudly bragged about his dongsaeng's sword skills too.
Smiling as he immediately started sputtering from embarrassment.
"I am not very good right now! But, my uncle Han said that I definitely have the talent to be a great swords man one day. Specially if, I continue to hone my skill diligently!"
Choi jung explained in embarrassment over the exaggerated praise the eldest was giving him.
"I am sure you would do well."
Cale, the nice redhead they were getting to know, smiled at him encouragingly and Jung Soo beamed at him.
"I will try my best!"
Before his chatty dongsaeng could start another topic, Soo hyuk decided to put a break to their one-sided conversation and let their new friend talk too.
"We have been really rude and only talking about us so far. So, what about you? Any special interests?"
"I do happen to have a rather unique talent. "
Soo Hyuk saw a tiny glint of something pass by Cale's expression but couldn't quite catch it.
"Oh? What is it? Would you like to share with us?"
"Yeah! Tell us!"
Looking at the eager and curious faces, Cale let out a chuckle before sharing his secret talent.
"I am very good at making people loose their tempers."
"......"
"......"
His response was met with silence. Before the other two people finally rebooted.
"That's- Um- Nice?"
Choi jung soo honestly didn't know how to respond to that so he blurted out the first thing he thought of.
"So you are good at making people angry?"
Lee Soo Hyuk was admitedly, doing better than Jung soo and looking closer at Cale's expression to see clearly what it was as that glint reappeared.
"Yes. I can make almost anyone loose it"
This time Soo Hyuk clearly saw the mischief in Cale's smile and decided to play along.
"Oh really? Why don't you try it on us then."
This conversation was very amusing for him, specially since he was a very mild mannered person so it made him wonder what could Cale possibly try to anger him.
"Yes! We aren't easy to provoke! You can say whatever you want in front of us!"
Choi jung soo had finally reached the very wrong conclusion that maybe Cale was too blunt and that's why he didn't have any friends so he was trying to warn them in advance in his own cryptic way.
Like Roksoo!
Cale made a show of putting his finger on his cheek and thinking it over, eyes scanning over the table as his phone screen lit up for a second with a text.
"It wouldn't really work now, of course. Since you already know i want to anger you, it would be fruitless if it isn't a surprise. "
He tilted his head and let out a resigned sigh.
"Hmm. Maybe some other time."
He shrugged his shoulders and nodded his head with a big smile as if that was a deal.
"Besides-"
His smile widened as he got up with an elegant flourish to take his leave.
"Your friend is here."
Right on cue, the bell at the entrance chimed. Signaling the arrival of someone.
"Don't worry! I'll greet him properly on my way out."
Roksoo, just like the other two stopped at the entrance and frowned at the unexpected scene.
This time though, it wasn't the person at the door walking towards the mysterious redhead's table but Cale walking towards the door instead.
Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo had expected their dongsaeng to just pass by the unfamiliar redhead and get his sweet treats instead. They were just about to warn Cale about it but this day was apparently the day of anomalies.
Their borderline anti-social youngest stood by the door, waiting patiently for the redhead to reach him.
They watched in confused amazement as Cale confidently introduced himself to Roksoo, who didn't brush him off instantly.
They blinked like owls in unison as Cale raised his hand but instead of a handshake, his hand went further up towards Roksoo's face.
'Huh?'
'Is he gonna slap-'
Cale brushed a stray strand of hair away from Roksoo's face and gave him a much softer smile than he had given them, like he was precious, someone special, whispering something they couldn't hear, as he slowly slid his fingertips down Roksoo's face.
'Huh?!'
'Isn't that too intimate for a greeting? We should probably stop this...'
Then to their abject horror, Cale pulled Roksoo's collar and smashed their dongsaeng's lips against his own.
Their brains stopped working and they were stuck in their spots as they watched Cale slowly deepening the kiss, his hand letting go of Roksoo's collar to wrap around his neck instead.
They watched, rooted in their spot as his other hand wandered around their dongsaeng's waist and slipped inside his back pocket.
They were still staring with their jaws hanging open from shock when the lip-locked pair finally separated and Cale turned towards them with a smirk on his now glistening lips and winked at them.
It was only when the redhead ran away laughing did they finally snap out of it and chased after the hooligan who just stole a kiss from their youngest.
"Get back here you brat!"
'Roksoo is taken already!'
What will they tell their brother-in-law when they finally meet him! They failed in protecting Roksoo!
All the while the person in question watched this all with a blank face while licking his lips and guessing the flavor now lightly present on them.
'Apple cupcakes'
Roksoo let out a long suffering sigh, then calmly reached into his pocket, taking out the piece of paper that had just been slipped into it discreetly.
When he opened it, he couldn't quite help the twitch of his lips as they curled upwards when he saw the mini note with a winky face in it.
'Dinner date? ;) '
Letting out a small huff of amusement, he grabbed his phone and messaged a very familiar number with a soft, fond look.
"I want something expensive. "
