Sunlight filtered into the small bedroom, curtains only open an inch. The light barely showed through, only enough to leave a warm glow on both of the bodies that laid tangled in bed. Red eyes slowly opened, sleep still clouding his vision, the sun hitting them immediately. He closed his eyes quickly before he buried his face into his boyfriend's hair. A small, almost unnoticeable, smile appeared on his lips as he sighed contently into the messy green hair.
He laid there for a few more moments, the feel and smell of his boyfriend almost lulling him back to sleep. However, day off or not, he knew he had to stay up with how late it must be already. Even if he only made them breakfast before dragging the other back into their bed.
Izuku let out a soft sigh at the arms wrapping around him, conscious still asleep, hands tightening their hold on the blond. Katsuki smiled a bit wider and debated on just ordering breakfast instead if it meant not having to leave as long. Still, he’d have to get up to even get his phone to call so, neither idea was exactly enticing to him.
He begrudgingly re-opened his eyes, revealing his boyfriend sleeping peacefully. Katsuki blinked a few more times, adjusting his eyes to the light surrounding him, wanting to take in the full view of the other. After a few more seconds of letting his eyes adjust, Katsuki could finally gaze at Izuku clearly. He watched the way his chest would rise and fall, how his eyelashes were long and almost looked like they curved.
He admired his lips, ones he loved kissing and that always tasted like the vanilla chap-stick he had started wearing. Cheeks that had freckles painted across his face, Katsuki wanted to trace them with his finger. He thought Izuku was beautiful, he’d tell him that often too, he liked the blush that would rise and the bashful kiss and smile he’d get in return. He’d still deny it often which made him a little sad.
He wished that Izuku could see how pretty he was, yes pretty. Izuku has always been pretty, he is so very pretty that Katsuki doesn’t understand how no one else talks about it.
It’s funny because Izuku said the same thing about him a few nights ago, after their patrol when they were laying in bed together, just sharing quiet kisses. He talked about how handsome he thought Katsuki was, and his face still felt warm when thinking about it.
He wouldn’t believe it really if anyone else said it, except for when he does. When they’re laying in bed together and Izuku whispers about how he finds Katsuki handsome–beautiful even–and caresses his face, well, Katsuki can’t help but believe it.
He buried his face into the other's hair again, breathing in that shampoo Katsuki always buys that Izuku steals. He placed a kiss to the crown of the other’s head, lips just resting there for a moment before pulling away, staring at his sleeping boyfriend again.
The sun was gleaming even more now, resting across Izuku’s cheeks, scarcely grazing his eyes and trying to wake him. Katsuki turned his head behind him, trying to look at the digital clock that laid on their bedside. The blinking red lights showed; 10:52 A.M.
He turned his face back to the male, hand moving to cradle a freckled jaw, fingers tracing over the spots covering him. Katsuki shuffled slightly, making them face to face, and leaned over to press a kiss to Izuku’s cheek, lips pressing on each freckle and mole that danced on his face.
Once he reached the bridge of his nose, Izuku let out a sleepy grumble, hand coming up to his cheek. He smirked and grabbed his hand. Izuku stirred in his sleep as he continued with his mission, pushing him back slightly to get to his other cheek.
Izuku groaned and mumbled incoherently, the only thing he could make out was a slurred ‘Kacchan’ and an even softer ‘huh?’. He kissed Izuku more insistently, making the other let out a quiet laugh at the quicker presses of lips.
“Izuku, c’mon. We can order breakfast from that cafe you like, and lay in bed for a while,” Katsuki said, Izuku’s eyes trying to pry open at his words.
It could’ve been from him saying order breakfast, or from him saying lay in bed. Katsuki wasn’t sure but he just wanted to see his eyes. Izuku still let out a whine as Katsuki kept trying to wake him, he’d never been an early riser like the blond was.
“Five more minutes..” Izuku moved to turn his back to Katsuki but he pulled him back, kissing everywhere he could reach again, his hands moving to hold the other’s waist and hovering over him.
If Izuku wasn’t gonna wake up on his own then Katsuki would force him up, via kissing, dragging, or tickling. The last one sounded the most promising for an awake but grumpy Izuku so he’d save it for now. Last time he woke him up like that Izuku refused to kiss him for 30 minutes, so he would really like to not have a repeat.
“No, I gotta call the place and I left my phone on the desk so I gotta get up, and so do you.” Izuku groaned once again but finally, his eyes fluttered open a bit. He looped his arms around Katsuki’s neck, a tired smile showing once he could see the blond’s face.
“If you’re gonna kiss my face, at least kiss my lips too.” Izuku pursed his lips, Katsuki rolled his eyes but leaned down. No matter how many times they kissed, neither would ever get over it.
It was each of their favorite things to do, whether it was good morning kisses, good night kisses, heated and lust filled ones, or just random spur of the moment and passing kisses. Each one felt just as wonderful as the last and Katsuki still couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have this.
Izuku pulled away, pressing another kiss to Katsuki’s cheek, smiling cheekily, like he had won something and to Izuku? He had.
“Come on, let’s get up and order, I’ll kiss you some more after.” Katsuki sat up, laughing at the groan of displeasure his boyfriend let out as he left the bed. He made way for the curtains first, closing them completely and leaving the room in darkness.
He flicked on the lamp in the corner of the room by the desk, filling the room with light but not blindingly so. Izuku sat up, rubbing his eyes and watching as Katsuki called the cafe.
Izuku left the warm bed and trudged over to his partner, arms wrapping loosely around Katsuki’s waist as he finished up the order. Izuku pressed a few kisses to Katsuki’s neck, the blond preening at the affection. He placed the phone down and turned around, they’re mouths meeting tenderly once more, slotting perfectly.
“The food should be here in about 30 minutes, they said. You wanna shower?” Katsuki wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and Izuku laughed loudly, a smirk pulling at his lips.
“Wait for the food first, then we have all day.” Izuku kissed him again, and moved towards the bathroom, gesturing to Katsuki to follow. The blond smiled for the tenth time already, his eyes latching onto the affection swirling in the green eyes of the person he loved.
He wished every morning could be like this but he'd take today. Today and every other day he gets to wake up next to him, that was more than enough for Katsuki.
