Work Text:

The moon is out, the crickets are chirping, and the breeze is gentle…It's a peaceful night indeed.

Well, it's peaceful up until the Crackhead Trio plays a certain game called Uno. Some people refer to it as “The game of betrayal,” others refer to it as “The game that ruins friendships,” but if you asked a certain red-headed boy, he'd say the game was absolute hell.

...

For now.

------------------------

A frustrated scream can be heard from Blyke. “WHAT THE FU-! How the hell did you have another plus 4?!”

The culprit Blyke is referring to is sitting across the table, smirking widely and feeling great. “Heh. Haven't you ever heard the term ‘Hate the game, not the player’? It's not my fault I had another plus 4!”

Blyke growled as he grabbed 24 cards. “Fuck you, Isen. And what the hell Remi!? You also had another plus 4!?”

Remi smiled sheepishly at Blyke. “Sorry Blyke, but I didn't want to have to pick up 16 cards for your sake.”

Blyke sighs as he looks at his now pile of cards. “Man…I already had 10, to begin with, and you two have, like, less than 6 left!”

Isen, still smirking, decided to taunt Blyke. “Too bad, too sad, Blykey boy!

Isen's smirk then has more malice in it. “That's my revenge for you blue-shelling me and stealing my win earlier!”

“You're still mad about that Isen? Even though you won like…” Remi thinks for a second. “...10 times?”

Isen turns to Remi. “Oh sweetie, it was 20 wins, no need to humble me.”

Blyke snaps his head to Isen. “20 wins my ass! You won 5 times at most!”

Isen points to Blyke in a “get a load of this guy.” way. “Someone's jealous.”

Blyke stands up. “As if! I could never be jealous of someone who uses Steve in Smash and still loses!”

Isen stands up. “Hey, that was one time!”

“One time!? You get your ass kicked anytime you use him, which is all the time!”

Remi watches the two nervously. She knows that one little thing between them could cause the entire girls dorm building to collapse. “H-Hey guys, no need to fight! Let's just keep playing!”

Blyke and Isen halt their argument.

“Fine.” Blyke huffs and begrudgingly sits back down.

“Okay…” Isen stands down and sits back down on his cushion.

Remi sighs in relief. “Thank you.”

Isen examines his cards. “Who's turn is it?”

Remi smiles cheerfully. “Mine!”

Blyke looks through his cards and adorns an evil smirk. “Well then, go on Remi!”

Isen eyes Blyke suspiciously. “What made you all happy all of a sudden?”

Blyke looks at Isen, feigning innocence. “Oh, nothing to concern your sweet little face over.”

That statement makes Isen even more suspicious. “I think I should be concerned, you were just whining about the amount of cards you had to pick up!”

Isen thinks for a moment. “You're…You're gonna do something to me with the cards you got, aren't you?”

Blyke's smirk, still full of malicious intent, widens. “Now, whatever gave you that idea?”

“You basta-!”

“You're turn Isen.”

“Huh?”

Isen looked over to the discard pile. Remi placed her card, an innocent red 5.

“A-Alright…”

Isen eyes Blyke suspiciously. ‘What does he have?’

Blyke is still smirking widely at Isen, only further making him suspicious. “You heard Remi, Isen. Your turn."

Isen nervously puts down a red 8. ‘What does he have!?’

Blyke's smirk widens even more and it feels like a shadow of evil had blanketed over Isen. “Why, thank you, Isen.” Blyke places a red reverse down, turning anything that he places in the future towards Isen and giving Isen another turn.

Isen gulps as he puts down some random red card. ‘What is he planning!? I can feel the evil from here!’

Remi places a wild card, changing the color to blue.

And now…it's Blyke's turn. “Heh…hehehehhe….”

Isen is even more nervous now as sweat drips down his face. ‘I've got one more plus 4…but who's to say he doesn't have 5 with how evil he looks right now?!’

Blyke dramatically lifts a card from his hand into the air. “Hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” And then slams the card down, revealing a plus 4.

‘Damn! If Remi has a plus 4 and Blyke also has one more…I'm done for!’ Isen places his last plus 4 and watches with horror as Remi also puts one down. ‘No…No! NOOO!’

And then Blyke puts the final nail in the coffin, he slams down a plus 4 with the force of a cripple slamming into the cafeteria wall, all the while laughing maniacally. “FUCK YOU, ISEN!” As Isen’s jaw drops, Blyke flips him the bird with both fingers.

“A plus 16…? N-No…it's over…” Isen dramatically flops onto the table and whines. “It's all over…”

Blyke sits back and puts his hands behind his head. “MAN! That felt good!”

Isen continued to whine for a few minutes before finally picking up his cards, all the while looking devastated. “Fuck you Blyke…”

Blyke decided to take the chance to mess with Isen just as he did to him earlier. “Too bad, so sad, ya gaw-damn stalker.”

That got Isen to sit right back up. “H-Hey! I told you already, it's investigative journalism!"

“Suuuuurrrrreee buddy. Whatever Cecile tells you to keep you sleeping at night.

Remi looks at Isen, pity in her gaze. “To be honest Isen, it is a little stalkerish…”

Isen huffs as he grabs the cards he was supposed to draw. “Whatever. You guys wouldn't understand unless you joined the newspaper club.”

Remi places a blue 2. “I'm not that interested in journalism, sorry Isen!”

Blyke places a plus 2 for Isen to pick up and Isen doesn't even care anymore. “Yeah, miss me with that stalker shit.”

Isen draws the 2 cards. “Tch. Whatever man…”

The game goes on for a few more minutes before Remi ultimately wins…Isen and Blyke bickering until the end.

Blyke yawns as he pushes his cards to the middle. “Well, I guess we better call it a night. Got school tomorrow, after all.”

Isen pushes his cards to the middle as well and stretches. “Yeah. I guess we should. Let's have another game night next Tuesday, so I can kick your asses again at Mario Kart.”

Blyke scoffs. “Yeah right! I'll kick your ass at Mario Kart and Smash!”

Remi stands up and yawns as well. “Come on you two. Go back to your dorms already, I'm tired…”

Blyke sighs and stands up, grabbing his bag. “Alright, alright…goodnight you two, see ya in the morning.” And with that, Blyke leaves Remi’s dorm.

Isen turns to a tired-looking Remi. “Hey, do you really think my investigative journalism is stalkerish?”

Remi, too tired now to care, nods. “Yes, now get out.”

And with that, the game night of the Crackhead Trio ends. Never to be seen again…

…

Well…until next Tuesday, that is.

Notes:
