Physical checkup with:
Hippocrates, PhD: Sept 29th, 21██
Results available in Case History File #2354A6-9
Overview:
███ has displayed erratic behavior upon inpatient assessment. She was continually scanning across the room as if searching for something and often shifted around on the bed space despite being wounded. She was semi-cooperative, but polite throughout the entire assessment. As she started to open up to discussion, her breathing became taut and she was beginning to feel anxious with recollections of the past event. She was constantly fidgeting with her fingers and rubbing them.
███ described yesterday, Sept. 29th, as something that “no one should have ever had the chance to experience”. She fixed her gaze on the wall clock to focus which helped her speak clearly and uninterrupted. She said that she had never felt as overwhelmed before. When asked further about this account, she refused to recite most details covering that day except for when she hurt a fellow teammate named Liv. She began to lose her energy afterward and excused herself as tired.
She first shared Liv as someone extremely sweet, innocent, and valuable. Liv was someone to her who was regarded as very close, as they had known each other for over three years. ███'s agitated expressions mellowed out into a slight smile during the time of this description. She was gently guided into discussing the traumatic event by letting her freely talk about all the positives Liv had brought to her life. Liv has taught her emergency first aid, proper nutrition, and the basics of horticulture, to name a few. It is apparent that Liv is a major stabilizer in ███'s well-being.
Upon asking how she came to harm Liv, she suddenly became dismissive and refused any eye contact for a couple of minutes. She hugged her knees and her responses became very brief. Her voice became softer and she was allowed a few more minutes to collect her thoughts before being further questioned. She inquired if Liv could come over and visit soon, but there was no definite answer.
███ was still hesitant to comment on the situation but eventually came to. She spoke slowly and quietly and her pupils began to dilate before recounting the trauma. She mentioned she was one of the last to succumb to the effects of the radiation due to her strong mind beacon. Having been connected to countless constructs for their safety caused an excessive load on her mind beacon which led to massive internal bleeding, although painless to her at that moment.
She said Liv was going to help treat her injuries as best she could with an injection containing hemostatic agents to halt the internal bleeding. But, ███ suddenly had feelings of “total possession” as if she were a “puppet” being controlled by a “higher being”. She thought nothing could have been done, and she struggled hard to keep control over her ailing body. Further descriptions of the sensations included heavy brain fog, reflexive feelings, and sudden urges to say things she would never have normally, though those words weren’t carried out.
███ described the anguishing feeling of watching her hand slowly rise to grab Liv’s neck without control. She began to hyperventilate and stutter once she confessed to hearing the multitude of cracking and snapping noises she was causing from the choking. She said that even though she knew her strength was nothing to a construct, it still caused Liv some pain. She said that she couldn’t ever forgive herself for doing that.
She continued to say that as she was continually suffering from the mind beacon pollution, matters turned for the worse. She was then reaching for her holster to grab her gun despite fighting back as hard as she could to stop herself. She said that she made Liv fully disarm her, which was extremely risky since she’d be left with no personal defense. ███ would never allow herself to potentially harm Liv any further, or anyone else. She said afterward that she would rather die than have potentially killed her teammate. She raised her voice and stressed that she was always supposed to protect and serve, not cause undue harm.
She refused further comment, requested a glass of water, and said that she just wanted to sleep. Her requests were granted, and future sessions will be conducted to determine the necessity of administered psychological tests and consistent inspection of the condition of her mind beacon.
Conclusion:
Diagnostic Impression:
Based on this preliminary information, the patient is concluded to be under typical signs of posttraumatic stress disorder. No tests were administered in this session due to caseload and by request. A separate attending physician will be present in the future to determine the necessity of any tests or further observations. Possible questioning and interviews for Liv are pending.
Recommendation:
Given the patient’s current condition, the following recommendations can be made:
- An adequate amount of rest can help assist in stabilizing levels of anxiety and agitation, due to consistent records of a severely below-average amount of sleeping hours, submitted by her teammate Lee.
- Brief visitations and face-to-face support from individuals close to her may positively affect her mood and reduce the frequency of symptoms during inpatient treatment.
