Danny groaned as his alarm blared to life next to him on the nightstand. Turning over he picked it up to shut off the alarm and check his notifications. Skipping over the general app stuff he went straight to his chat with Sam and Tucker.

Rolling his eyes Danny got out of bed and started to get dressed for the day. After getting ready quickly he headed downstairs to get some breakfast before heading out. As he headed to the kitchen the smell of eggs and bacon filled the air. His stomach growled with hunger as he headed to the coffee pot to pour himself a mug.
“Hey Danny, did you get good sleep last night? We didn’t get any alerts.” His mom asked from the stove where she was cooking up breakfast.
Danny shook his head as he headed back to the table where Jazz sat with some of her college textbooks. “Yeah, I even managed to finish all of my homework too.”
“That’s good to hear, the ghosts seemed to have calmed down lately huh?” Jazz said as she looked up from her books.
Danny shrugged as his mom placed a full plate in front of him. “Thanks mom,” he said before digging in. “I’m not about to look a gifted horse in the mouth. I need to get my grades up if I have even a sliver of a chance to get into a good astronaut program.”
Jazz hummed in agreement, “yeah you’re right, but you know what would help even more?”
Danny glanced up from his food, “what?”
“Doing class activities and stuff, those always look great on college applications! And they might net you some good scholarships.” Jazz said.
Danny glanced up from his food with a frown. “I mean I guess, but what about ghost attacks? Biggest reason my grades went to crap was because of them. Imagine trying to do school activities with them going on.”
“Well that was before cariño,” his mom cut in. “Now you have me and your father. We can keep up with the low level attacks and call you if anything too big happens.” She said as she handed Jazz a plate.
Jazz perked up. “Exactly! And I'm here for a while so I can help them too. Besides with attacks going down since you became King-”
“Ugh don't remind me…. Ancients know what the Observants could pull me into once they actually start acknowledging me.” Danny groaned as he slammed his head onto the table.
He could feel his sister and mother roll their eyes before his mom spoke. “Then we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Besides I think Jazz here has a point.”
Danny sighed as he glanced up at his mom and his sister. ‘They have good points… And I do need to make my applications look good.’ Finishing up his breakfast Danny stood, “alright, alright I'll see if there's anything I can sign up for.” He conceded as he grabbed his bag.
Jazz and his mom beamed at him. “That's all we ask cariño, now off you go. Don't want to be late.” His mom said as she shooed him out the door.

Closing down the chat with Valerie he landed a block away from the school to walk the rest of the way there. Spotting Tucker a few steps away he jogged up to him and swung an arm over his shoulder. “Hey babe, I’ve got Lancers stuff with me.” Danny couldn't help the grin of satisfaction he got when he heard his boyfriend yelp as he nearly jumped out of his skin.
“Yeesh Danny you've got to stop doing that!” He said with a hand over his heart.
Danny pretended to mull it over before shaking his head. “But scaring you is so fun though!” He said with a grin as they reached the steps of the school. Spotting Sam at the top of the steps he waved at her. “Now come on, you need to finish the stuff for Lancer.”

It was at lunch time that Danny went over to the announcement corkboard to find something to do for his applications. Studying the fliers the only one that grabbed his attention was the one for the Welcome Party committee. Shrugging he whipped out his phone and opened his discord. Following the instructions he joined the server for the committee. ‘I might have to deal with the A-listers but at least they've chilled out recently. It'll be fine.’

Danny exited out of the server and glanced at his friends. “Uh guys? I may have a problem.”
Sam looked up from her meal with curiosity. “What do you mean? Is it a ghost thing?”
Danny shook his head. “Um, I may have signed up for the welcome party planning committee with my Phantom account….”
Tucker snickered around his food. “You can't be serious.” He managed to say while chewing.
Sam side eyed him with disgust before turning her focus back to Danny. Danny groaned as he face planted into the table. “I wish I was joking but, yes I am.”
At the confession his partners looked at each other before bursting out laughing. Danny glared at them through his bangs. “Not funny.” He grumbled into the table.
“Come on Danny it's a little funny you've got to admit.” Sam said.
“Wait, wait, do they actually believe it? Or do they think you're trolling?” Tucker added leaning over the table to try and see Danny's phone.
Danny groaned as another ping came from his phone, the sound a constant background noise to the teasing.

“Yeah, no, it doesn’t seem like they believe me.” He answered with some relief. “Which, I don’t really know how to feel about it to be honest.”
“Okay so what's the problem then? Just say you were messing with them and reveal it's really you.” Sam said with a shrug.
“I guess but I already doubled down though? Besides-”
“Wouldn’t this be the perfect time to pull a prank on the A-listers??” Tucker chimed in, interrupting Danny. Both Danny and Sam looked at him with doubtful looks. “Okay hear me out, we convince them that it's really Phantom and let them wildly speculate why the resident ghost hero is interested in a school party. Then before the party we reveal that it was us pulling their leg!” He explained with a wide grin.
Danny hummed in thought. He had been considering revealing his identity to the rest of the town, or at least the school community, and this prank would be a funny and hopefully not dangerous way to do it…
“I mean that would be funny, but wouldn’t this needlessly endanger Danny? Besides, the whole reason he signed up for this in the first place is to make his college applications look better. Him ‘pretending’ to be Phantom for this would invalidate that.” Sam said.
Tucker deflated a little at that. “Right, I forgot about that.”
Danny debated the issue internally for a few more seconds before making his decision. If he was going to finish his highschool career he might as well finish it with a bang. His parents already knew his identity, and the G.I.W. have basically evaporated after the incident that led to the reveal in the first place. So, why was he still trying to keep it a secret? “You know what babe? I'm gonna go with your plan here, let’s see what these guys can come up with.” He said as he finished up his lunch and sent another message to the server

“You’re seriously going through with this?” Sam asked as Danny finished up his food. Nodding he stood from their table in the cafeteria and started heading outside to find a good spot to take the picture. “Yeah, I’ve been debating how to reveal myself to the school for a while now and Tucker’s idea sounds hilarious.” He heard Sam and Tucker finish up as well and going to follow him. Sam caught up with him first. “Well it’s your secret. However you want to reveal it is your choice.” She said with one of her private smiles. The type she reserves only for him and Tucker. “And also,” she paused, checking to see how far behind Tucker was before continuing, “I gotta admit it's going to be hilarious watching the A-listers lose their minds trying to figure out why you're doing this.” She whispered with a small chuckle. Danny chuckled as well, placing a quick peck to Sam’s cheek as Tucker caught up with them swinging his arms around their shoulders as he muscled his way between them with an impish grin. “Where’s my kiss Danny?” He asked innocently. Danny just rolled his eyes as he also gave the programmer a kiss on the cheek as Sam did the same on the other side. As they exited the cafeteria they headed down one of the more deserted corridors of the school to send the evidence to the party server. Once they went far enough down the hall Danny fazed out of his boyfriend's hold, much to his chagrin, before double checking the hall for any wandering students or faculty. Finding none he quickly transformed. Floating in front of the lockers he took out his phone and opened his camera. He could feel his partner's amusement as he quickly took a couple of selfies before de-transforming and looked through them. Picking the one he liked the best he went back to the server.
