Art for 'Always Memorable' by golbygloom

Notes:

My third and last Dadstiel collab for this year. I got to pinch hit for golbygloom (golby moon)'s lovely fic Always Memorable. It's such a sweet story, so, if you haven't done so, give it a read.

I had actually planned a different art piece, but after a week that got a lot busier than I had anticipated, I ended up with the banner and art piece you can see here.

I hope you enjoy the ones I came up with.

Work Text:

Golby's fic features Star Wars balloons which Dean and Cas create themselves by painting Star Wars characters on ordinary ballons. I loved the idea, so I drafted several of them (Darth Vader, BB-8, a stormtrooper, a porg, R2-D2, and C-3PO). In the end, time ran out, and I ended up with the three you can see on the banner.
The birthday card design of the banner happened quite accidentally. But it fit the fic and I liked the idea, so I went with it.

I had never drawn canon!Jack before this (I did some kid pieces), so I loved working on this. I quite happy with how he turned out. Though, since I once again stuck to a pencil drawing, the party hat ended up kinda small. It wasn't even bad planning of the space I had available, but my misconception of party hat sizes. I only looked for references afterwards. Luckily, golby liked it and stated that it fits quite well for a literal first birthday.
