Summary
Aemond had always known that Lucerys belonged to him. Ever since the boy had torn out his eye, staining the dagger with his own blood. The little beast had taken what was rightfully not his, but he had acted like the truest of dragons. He hadn't realized it then, driven only by blind rage and a thirst for revenge. Hatred for this child, that such an act had gotten away with him.
He wanted justice, he wanted fairness, but he realized he wasn't going to get it that night. So, he had to calm his mother and assure her that the eye was a worthy payment for the old and majestic dragon. After all, he had finally gotten what he had dreamed of for so long.
That night, Aemond spared Lucerys' life.
