My first Hotel Transylvania stories. Hope you like them.

These stories won't have much romance. They'll be more focused on the problems between humans and monsters (I was a bit inspired by Hazbin Hotel, but without the musicians.)

Chapter 1: The Division of the Village

Chapter Text

Transylvania. 2012

Once upon a time, in the great city of Transylvania, before the great curse. The city and the village were calm and peaceful as always. However, a man named Vladimir was not satisfied with that.

Vladimir, or as many call him, Vlad, was a man full of mysteries, and his greatest feat was to place the curse of eternal transformation, in order to save his wife, and become immortal. However, the spell worked.

Vlad ended up cursing himself, and cursing his wife and half of the population, turning them into monsters. In this transformation, Vlad and his wife, Elizabeth, turned into vampires.

The population of the village that was not transformed, was afraid and tried their best to expel all the citizens who had turned into monsters. The leader of this rebellion was a member of the Van Helsing family. After they were expelled, a barrier was built that prevented monsters and humans from living side by side.

Even after that, humans continued to invade the forest, to kill everyone, or any monster they found. Vlad hid with his wife as deep as possible in the forest, and years later they had a son.

A vampire, named Dracula. Just like his father, Dracula hated humans, and saw no good in their hearts. The vampire was known as the Prince of Darkness. He had friends; a golem made of flesh, a werewolf, a mummy and an invisible man.

Years later, Dracula met a vampire, with whom he fell in love and had a daughter. But unfortunately, the humans killed his wife, and Dracula, feeling more hatred, and also fear, built a refuge to protect, all kinds of monsters possible. A refuge called Hotel Transylvania.

"Mavis!"

The vampire who was reading the book, closed it, and hid the book under the bed, picking up a magazine. The vampire had blue eyes, wore black clothes, had short hair, and wore black makeup.

"Mavis!"

- I'm in my room, dad!

Her name was Mavis. A vampire entered the room, smiling at her. Just like her daughter, he had blue eyes, black hair and clothes, and wore a long cape.

- What are you doing, my little mouse? - He asked, coming closer.

- Nothing much. - Mavis smiled nervously.

The vampire raised an eyebrow, already suspicious of his daughter. Mavis looked at him nervously, until he quickly looked down. Dracula saw that, looking where she had looked, and saw the famous history book.

- Mavis. - Dracula smiled and put his hand on his waist.

- Oh, dad. - Mavis defeated, took the book and handed it to him.

- I know you like this book, but whenever you read it you get those ideas that humans can change and blah-blah-blah. – Dracula told her.

Mavis looked at her father, with a raised eyebrow, and not believing what he said.

- Did you say, "blah-blah-blah"? – Mavis asked laughing, making her father angry.

- I never say "blah-blah-blah". I only say "blah-blah-blah", when I want to say that I don't say "blah-blah-blah". – Dracula said crossing his arms, and bothered.

- Okay, but... – Mavis looked out the window, seeing the forest and the city of humans, which were far away. - What if there really are humans who like us?

- Tell me one? – Dracula asked with his hands on his hips.

"Dracula!"

The vampires looked outside, and saw Dracula's werewolf friend calling him. He had brown fur, yellow eyes, and was wearing a blue button-down shirt, dark gray jeans, and a gray striped tie.

- Wayne, my friend. What's wrong? – Dracula said, smiling at the werewolf.

- I don't think you're going to like what's on TV. – Wayne said as he scratched the back of his neck, with a worried expression.

Dracula and Mavis looked at each other, worried and confused by what Wayne had said. The three of them went to the main hall, where Dracula's other friends were. They were all facing the TV.

"The famous and current monster hunter, Daniel Van Helsing, captured 5 different monsters today."

The woman from the newspaper said, when Dracula approached with his daughter and friend so they could see what it was.

- What is it now? - Dracula asked.

- It seems that a Van Helsing has done another hunt. - The giant blue-skinned golem said fearfully.

Wayne approached a female werewolf, who had a hairstyle showing that she had short hair, and wore a long yellow dress. Mavis approached her father to watch the TV, and they both saw a reporter approaching a man who wore white clothes, had blond hair, and an arrogant expression on his face.

- Sir, Van Helsing, how does it feel to kill 5 monsters tonight? - The reporter asked.

- Just like my great-uncle, I feel very good protecting these innocent people from these evil creatures. - The blonde guy, named Daniel Van Helsing, said proudly.

Dracula and his friends were irritated by the boy's words, while Mavis became sadder.

- And what did you capture today, Daniel? – The reporter asked.

- Today we captured trolls and giant insects. But of course, my greatest achievement will be capturing the famous and feared Count Dra—

Before he could finish, Dracula turned off the TV in irritation. The vampire sighed and looked at his daughter.

- See, daughter? They never change. – Dracula said sadly and left.

Mavis felt sad and walked to the window. Dracula's friends left, straight to their rooms, while Wayne looked worriedly at Mavis. The werewolf sighed sadly and walked away with his wife. Mavis looked at the distant village through the window, wondering if there was someone different there.

The village was very busy with vehicles and people. It was quite large compared to a normal village. In a library, there was a boy sitting alone, reading a book titled "Golens, The Meat Monsters." This boy was reading the book with great entertainment, with headphones on, and eating chips with soda.

This boy had red, spiky hair, orange eyes, and wore yellow, green, and orange clothes. He was reading the book quite happily, while people passed by looking at him, finding him strange. The only thing that made him stop reading was a hand poking his head. He stopped reading and took off his headphones, looking happily at the owner of the hand.

- Hi Erika! – the boy replied happily.

Erika was a woman with blond hair, and wore white clothes consisting of a white lab coat, white long pants, and white shoes. She smiled, looking at the boy.

- How are you, Johnny? As always, reading these books. – Erika said smiling, while holding a book in her arms.

- It can't be helped. – The boy named Johnny took the book to show Erika. - This writer's books about monsters are incredible. He knows everything about monsters.

Johnny said happily, and went back to reading the book again. Erika laughed and smiled a little worried about the boy.

- You're his fan, right?

- I'm his number 1 fan! – Johnny said proudly.

"You're the only fan!"

Jhonny and Erika looked at the owner of the voice, and got irritated when they saw that it was Daniel Van Helsing, smiling evilly as he approached them.

- Those books are pure nonsense. The guy who wrote them was crazy. – Daniel said, approaching.

Johnny, irritated, approached, standing in front of the boy.

- He knows more about monsters than you and your family. No offense, Erika. – Johnny said to the woman.

- It's okay.

- Erika! – Daniel looked at Erika. - Are you going to let him talk about our family like that? Did you forget that you're also a Van Helsing?

- I'm a Van Helsing who followed my own path, instead of being a Van Helsing who always wants to follow the destiny of others. – Erika said irritably to the boy, leaving the book on the table.

- Of course. You preferred to own a ship, instead of hunting our enemies. The monsters!

 - They are not our enemies! – Johnny said, holding the boy's shirt, annoyed.

- Put yourself in your place, Loughran! – Daniel pushed Johnny, making him sit on the chair. - You may be the mayor's son, but I'm still above you. After all, I'm not the one who fell for the talk of someone who possibly doesn't even exist.

Daniel took Johnny's book, laughing evilly as he showed it to him. Johnny got angry, and Erika approached to help him.

- Get out of here, Daniel. – Erika ordered.

Daniel left the book on the table, and left there laughing cruelly. Erika approached Johnny, helping him.

- One day, I'm going to take your nephew's head and... Grrr! – Johnny didn't finish the sentence, annoyed with Daniel.

- Every time he treats you like that, I feel guilty. – Erika said sadly.

Johnny looked at her, felt sorry, and put his hand on her shoulder, smiling at the woman. Erika looked at him smiling, until they both heard the alarm on Johnny's cell phone.

- Oh, no! My father is going to kill me! – Johnny started to quickly grab his things, putting everything inside his backpack. - See you later, Erika!

Johnny said goodbye to his wife, and left the library running through the city like a madman.

It took a while, but he finally arrived at his house, which was quite large. After all, he was the mayor's son. A large man with red hair and a square jaw came out of the house quite irritated, looking around in every corner, until he saw Johnny running towards him. Johnny lowered his head in irritation, while the man crossed his arms in irritation.

- You're late - The man said, looking at Johnny entering.

- Sorry, dad. - Johnny entered the house, without looking at his father's face, and went straight up the stairs to his room.

Arriving in his room, Johnny started to get ready the way his father wanted. He put on a fancy black suit, and combed his hair back. He looked at himself in the mirror, and felt irritated, and disgusted with himself.

Johnny was now at his dinner table, with his family. His father on one end, his mother on the other, and his 6 brothers; his sister in front of him, and his two brothers on each side of him. The boy looked at the food angrily, and his mother saw this.

- What's wrong, honey? - The blond-haired woman asked smiling at Johnny.

- Nothing, mom. - Johnny asked poking the food with a fork.

- It's because he wants to eat monster food. - Johnny's brother, he said, messing up his hair.

- Stop, Jason! - Johnny pulled away angrily, but didn't fix his hair.

- If you ate monster food, you'd definitely be dead flies. - Johnny's sister, she said, laughing at his face.

- You'll eat worse things. That pimple near your mouth will end up exploding, and you'll end up eating what's inside it. - Johnny said, laughing arrogantly at his sister.

- Pimple! Where!? - She took the hand mirror, and looked at herself worried and scared.

 - No problem, dear. - Johnny's mother tried to calm her down.

- Still. - Johnny said smiling while still stirring the food.

- What's gotten into you today? - Johnny's other brother asked.

- I just wanted to keep to myself.

- Were you in the library again reading those lying books again? - Johnny's father asked, eating and irritated at Johnny.

- They're not liars! They tell a side of the monsters that no one accepts. Especially the Van Helsings! - Johnny said irritated to his father.

- I remember that in one of the books it said that the abominable snow monsters melt in the sun.. - Johnny's brother said.

- That's one of Van Helsing's books! And his books are all lies! - Johnny said irritated.

- Johnny, why can't you follow your brothers' example? They are monster hunters. - Johnny's father asked him.

- They only do it to please you! I'm not going to surrender to the patriarchy of this house, just because you're my father and the mayor! - Johnny got up irritated.

He went up to his room irritated, while his father was irritated, and his mother sighed worriedly for her son.

Johnny was at his desk, in his pajamas, and reading the same book he was reading in the library. He heard a knock on the door, and saw it opening and his mother, appearing and smiling.

- Can I come in?

- Yes, mom. – Johnny went back to reading the book again.

His mother approached, stroking her son's hair.

- As always, you're entertained by this book, aren't you? – He looked at the book, seeing the pictures of some golems.

- I find it more interesting. – Johnny smiled a little. - I... I feel more like myself with these books.

- What's the writer's name?

- He didn't put his name so no one would know he wrote it. He only has the last name, which is Mr. Wilson. – Johnny just showed his mother the cover of the book.

- Well, if you are happy reading his books, then I am happy for you.

Johnny's mother hugged him, and he hugged her back.

- Thank you, Mom.
