Korra and Asami never understood what was wrong with them showing affection to each other in front of their friends. All they did was hold hands or flirt which they didn’t think was a big deal every couple did it.
At first their friends thought them being all affectionate in front of them was cute, but then it started to change once they were together longer and needed to get back to their respective jobs. Korra was always hearing it from Tenzin on how Asami was distracting her from Avatar training because they would talk to each other the whole time and Korra would forget what she had to do. There were even times Tenzin would make sure that Asami stayed far away from Korra when she was training.
Asami has had this same problem but with Bolin, and Mako. They wanted to hang out with her when Korra was busy with training but Asami always turned them down to watch her girlfriend train (but she wouldn’t ever admit she enjoyed watching Korra’s muscles flex).
So without Asami and Korra knowing Tenzin, Mako, and Bolin decided to come up with a plan to separate them for a bit. They all decided to have a little get together at Air Temple Island and would play a fun game of Truth or Dare.
That morning at the Sato Estate Korra and Asami started waking up. Korra was the first to wake and turned towards Asami’s side of the bed and smiled. She would never get tired of waking up next to Asami and seeing her with her messy hair. Korra shuffled closer to Asami and wrapped an arm around her waist pulling them close together wanting to cuddle with her girlfriend.
A few minutes later Asami started to stir and opened her eyes instantly making eye contact with Korra who looked right back at her with a big grin on her face.
“Good morning, Korra.”
“Good morning, beautiful.”
Asami blushed at the compliment. Even after 8 months together Korra’s compliments were still able to get her to get flustered. “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing that.” “Good because I don’t plan on ever stopping.” Korra replied.
“So any plans for today?” Asks Asami.
“Yeah, remember Tenzin is having that little get together at his place tonight.”
“Oh yeah. I would rather stay home and cuddle all day but I guess we actually have to see are friends. Who even wants to get together on a Sunday anyways?”
“Old people like Tenzin that’s who. Come one let’s get up and eat some breakfast my treat.”
Asami gave her a weird look. “Korra the last time you tried to cook something you almost set the kitchen in fire.” Korra gave her a look, “Babe, that was one time and key word ‘almost’ means that it didn’t happen besides I’ve been practicing I’m a lot better now.” Korra finished her sentence with a pout.
Asami caved in almost immediately. “Gosh your so cute when you pout. Ok you can make me breakfast since you want to so bad.” She leaned forward and gave Korra a kiss to get rid of the pout. Instantly Korra flashed her crooked smile and got out of bed and went downstairs to prepare breakfast. In the mean time Asami decided to take a nice hot shower.
A while later Asami got out of the shower and went downstairs dressed for the day. Korra seemed to be finishing up breakfast and was plating it. Asami went behind Korra and hugged her. “It smells good babe and the kitchen is still in tact I’m excited to try it.” “See this is why you shouldn’t doubt me after one bad thing.” Asami nuzzled into Korra’s neck and kissed it and was happy with the fact it made the other girl shiver. “I’ll make sure to have more faith in you next time, I love you.”
“I love you too, now go sit down it’s almost done I’m just waiting on the tea.”
A few minutes later Korra was done with breakfast and served it to Asami. Asami took a bite and her eyes opened wide. “Spirits Korra this is amazing! Where did you learn to cook like this?”
“I may or may not have gotten Pema to teach me.” She said with a smile.
“Well remind me to thank her later. This is the best breakfast I’ve ever had.”
Korra and Asami finished eating their breakfast and decided to stay home the whole day until they had to leave to Tenzin’s.
Unfortunately that time came sooner than they thought because it was time for them to start getting ready to go. Korra decided to wear her normal clothes while Asami kept on what she already had which was a maroon shirt, black pants, and ankle boots.
They made their way to Air Temple Island and once they got there they noticed everyone they knew was already there. Tenzin, Bolin, and Mako were all deep in conversation, Meelo was running around and Pema was trying to get him to settle down, and in the corner they saw Lin, Opal, Ikki, and Jinora sitting and having a conversation.
They decided to walk up to Tenzin, Mako, and Bolin first and once the boys caught sight of them they immediately stopped their conversation.
“Korra, Asami hey! We’ve been waiting for you guys!” Said Bolin
“Yeah sorry we’re a little late traffic was crazy.”
Mako and Tenzin shared a knowing glance and nodded.
Tenzin then stepped forward and raised his voice a little. “Ok everyone now that we’re all here let’s play Truth or Dare to make this more interesting, I’ll start.” Tenzin then looked around the room and chose someone.
“Ok I choose Lin. So what will it be truth or dare?” Lin gave him a glare but still responded, “Truth.” Tenzin thought for a while but then came up with a question, “Here’s a good one. Who was the most recent person you kissed? And go ahead and take your time I know you haven’t been with someone in a while.” He said with a little smirk.
Lin glared at him some more before she smiled slightly and answered, “Actually, Tenzin, I won’t need a lot of time this is easy it was Kya.”
Everyone in the rooms mouths dropped open but the most shocked was Tenzin. “WHAT?!? YOU KISSED MY SISTER WHEN???” “When doesn’t matter Tenzin just know that it happened, ok my turn I guess… Mako I choose you truth or dare?”
“Dare”
“I dare you to tell me how good of a boss I am.”
“What kind of a dare even is that?” Now it was his turn to be on the receiving end of Lins glare. “If I remember correctly you have to do what I say so if you still want a job then I suggest you answer.” Lin smirked when she finished knowing she would be getting an answer.
With a sigh Mako answered, “I guess I like how good you are at your job you’re pretty reliable.”
“That is such a bullshit answer but I’ll take it.”
Everyone giggled and looked towards Mako waiting for him to choose someone. “I choose you Korra.” He said with a smirk knowing soon enough his, Bolin, and Tenzin’s plan would be working. Then his smirk faded once he realized Korra wasn’t even paying attention because her and Asami were too busy kissing. “Hello earth to Korra and Asami.”
They both pulled away from each other and looked at him. “What.” Korra said with a sigh.
“I said truth or dare.”
They all waited for Korra to decide and when she finally answered Mako smiled knowing that the plan would work. “Dare”
“I dare you to go without seeing Asami for 2 whole weeks.”
“WAIT, WHAT WHY!?!” The girls exclaimed in unison.
“Because you guys are always together you need a break.”
“Who do you think you are to tell us when we need a break it’s our relationship Mako.” Said Asmai obviously mad at the fact she wasn’t going to be able to see Korra. Korra looked at Asami and frowned knowing that tonight would be the last time they see each other for two weeks.
“Mako I’ll do your dare if you pay me 200 yuans for completing it.” Mako looked at her in disbelief before he gave in “Fine, but just so you know Korra you have to stay on Air Temple Island with Tenzin and his family and Asami you can stay at your guy’s house, you can spend the rest of tonight together but once the party’s over you need to leave each other alone.”
Korra and Asami looked at each other with frowns on their faces before Korra whispered to her “I think after the two weeks are over we should give him a little payback.” That got Asami to laugh, “Yeah we totally should and turns out we will have two weeks to think about it.”
Korra and Asami spent the rest of the night cuddling and kissing knowing that it would all end soon. When the party ended Korra and Asami were reluctant to stay apart but with a push from Tenzin, Asami went back across the water to Republic City.
Korra went to the room she was staying in and kept telling herself over and over that this would be easy and that her and Asami have been apart for longer and that everything would be fine. Turns out she was wrong.
