Chapter Text
When Edward left the Bebop she walked around with Ein.
Ed had Tomato, her computer, atop her head as they walked, looking for Edward's father.
He had left once more and she wanted to go look for him. She really liked adventures. So she knew she would probably enjoy this one.
After a little while Ed yawned. She was pretty tired. Which was understandable.
She had been walking for quite a while. Although it was night, it was still really hot out . And Ein had already drunk all of the the water that Edward had brought.
"Edward tired...", she groaned to no one in particular.
Ed and Ein were sluggishly walking some more before coming across a small town.
Edward began sprinting to that town with Ein following close behind. He found it quite difficult to catch up with Ed sometimes. She could definitely be really hyper and energetic. But after a while, Ein learned how to keep up with her.
Ed looked around at all of the buildings. She had made her way to the middle of the town. All of the shops were closed, making that part of the town really dark. If she wasn't used to the darkness by then, Edward would have had a lot harder time finding her way around.
However, she did find one building with its lights on.
It was a small inn at the edge of the street.
Edward's eyes lit up as she ran over to said inn and opened the door.
The man running the inn was half-asleep. Well, of course until Ed came in. He awoke with a start and looked around, before seeing Ed right in front of him.
He just silently watched as she ate all of the front desk candy before slapping her hand real fast.
"Get outta there, boy!", he spoke as Edward stepped back "What do you want?"
"Edward is tired.", Ed responded, tilting her head. "Needs place to sleep."
The worker looked down at her, telling her how much it would cost per night. Edward dug into her pocket and pulled out two woolongs. It was barely any money but it was all she had before she left the Bebop.
The money was from a bounty that they had turned into the ISSP.
It was one of the first times Ed had gotten any of the woolong reward.
Which was probably due to her doing almost all of the work.
She had found and ultimately caught him. And on top of that, brought him back to the Bebop.
The bounty-head was worth about one million woolongs total.
However, she didn't get any of it. Ed didn't really mind much, but Jet still passed her two woolongs. Which was more than enough for her.
She ecstatically ran around the ship, showing off the two woolongs to Faye and Spike. Although, it seemed like the couldn't possibly care less about anything else.
But Jet had a smile on his face, happy that Edward was so glad about something so small.
The worker stared at her and shook his head with a sigh of annoyance.
"Boy, I said twenty thousand woolongs. Not two."
Ed looked at him as Ein curled up on the floor at her feet and took a nap.
"But this is all Ed has- come on- pleeeeease???"
The man behind the desk was getting so angry when he finally just snapped and slammed the desk with both of his fists. It caused a big banging sounds that echoed throughout the inn.
"Fine!" he slammed a room key down before Ed reached out wand happily grabbed it with her usual toothy grin. "If it'll get you to leave me alone-"
But before he even finished his sentence, Edward was already sprinting up to her new room with Ein running right behind her.
They sprinted up the creaky old stairs before getting up to the room.
Ein really just wanted to get to their room and curl up on an uncomfortable bed and sleep.
He really needed to rest his legs and his whole body as a whole.
Once they got to the room Ed looked around as Ein jumped up onto the small bed. He found a semi-comfortable spot to lay down before curling up and closing his eyes.
Edward, on the other hand, was running around, checking everything out. She was impressed by almost everything.
Even the bathroom was something amazing to Ed. She walked inside and looked at everything, as well as touching everything too.
Despite how low quality the inn was, it was somehow better than the Bebop.
That didn't mean that Edward preferred it any more, however.
Eventually, after Ed was done touching everything, she used the bathroom before making her way into the bed in the middle of the room. Ed used Ein as a pillow instead of using the actual pillow at the head of the bed.
Ein was warmer and softer, she would say.
Edward pulled the covers and sheets clean off the bed and used those.
Ed smiled and closed her eyes.
