   Summary

   Intro is maybe a bit pessimistic in regards that this is a Super Mario fic, but nothing super evil and fucked up. Otherwise, enjoy your front-row seats to the origin story for a long time OC of mine that I first thought up while I was playing Mario Super Sluggers (of all things.)

   Follow 20-year old Drybones Paulie as he makes one of the most influential decisions in his life after being evicted. In Bowser's society, if you're poor, you either live on the street or you serve under the king of the koopas himself. Either way, you're not far from the grave; some say you're dead already. There's always the chance that, if you work for Bowser long enough, you'll make enough to get back on your feet. But eventually, like all people who work too hard for the king, you'll find yourself never wanting to leave, for one reason or another...
