Ninth Floor: Archives & Records & Sleuthing

Summary:

Hyacinth Bridgerton keeps her email correspondence professional and succinct as far as Anthony is concerned. She also hates her email signature.

Notes:

My favorite little princess who can do no wrong makes her grand entrance into this universe. Emails and responses are not in chronological order. All Americanisms and mistakes are mine.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Your brother is very adamant that I stick “company approved” modes of communication and requests. So, this is me formally requesting the following:

Project: Final Renderings; A_Hall 02.09.84

All the best,

Kate Sharma

Lead Structural Engineer

Bridgerton Group

PS Loved the cute sticky notes you left on my desk!

Subject: New Employee Onboarding

Dear Ms. Hyacinth Bridgerton,

I have received and reviewed your completed New Employee Packet. You are now an official part-time employee at Bridgerton Group.

Your new work badge is ready to pick up in my office on the 2nd floor, office 207. Please be sure to visit our head of IT on the 17th floor, Phillip Crane, after you gather your badge as it will need to be programmed for remote access within our building.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,

Genevieve Delacroix

Hello Gen,

Sorry I missed your call and visit by my desk earlier. Got a little turned around after making a few deliveries.

Your assistant made sure I received all the items I needed. I’ll be sure to make note of anything that wasn’t clear and reach out if needed.

Thanks again,

Hyacinth Bridgerton

Subject: REMINDER

Hyacinth,

Genevieve informed me that she has not been able to track you down since this morning. Please report to Ms. Delacroix immediately. Also, do not wander off for extended periods of time. It reflects poorly on your work ethic. I know this environment is new to you, and I expect the best from you because you are the best.

I would also appreciate if you kept all conversations with Kate work related. It is not imperative for her to know about my dislike (read: not fear) of small dogs.

you don’t have to be so regimented over email ant

didn’t mean to bring up your “dislike” of small dogs but kate mentioned she has a corgi, and he looks so cute

it wouldn’t hurt you to be a little friendly with coworkers from time to time, promise they’ll still respect you as our overlord

also, mom wants everyone at dinner tomorrow, including your tardy self <3

love you lots,

hy

p.s. won’t let you down big bro

Subject: Spam emails

Hello Hyacinth,

If you do not recognize the sender, then feel free to report as spam. IT regularly conducts company-wide phishing tests. Don’t take it personally if you fail one. Eloise has failed at least 3 of the last 7. But not bad for your first time in the corporate space.

Best regards,

Phillip Crane

IT & Cybersecurity Director

P.S. The flower meaning of your name is playfulness.

Hello Phillip,

I plan to ace every phishing test that comes my way!

The lanyard you gave me for my work badge makes things soooo much easier now. Now I’ll never lose it.

Thanks again,

P.S. I like your take on my name better than what my brother Greg said it meant :D

P.P.S. What color sticky notes do you prefer?

Subject: The plant by the elevator…

I didn’t know which one of you to send this to so now you both get it :D

Is that plant my responsibility or…? Though I must admit my plant/gardening skills stop at my name.

I know you worked in this department a few years back, Michaela. But Sophie, you’re in charge of workplace services?

The Ficus’ name is Archibald. It has been here longer than all of us.

Lucky for you Phillip is sort of a plant nerd, so I’ve cc’d him in my response. He will tell you all about it.
