The Void sung a beautiful song. The sound was enchanting, like the moon and the stars. The song was as vast as space and as soothing as the night. The Forest heard this song from where it was and decided to sing one back. The song the Forest sung was one of nature itself. Of the babbling brook, the crackling fire, of the plants and the animals. The Void, upon hearing the song, sung another one. This one was of the rising sun, the blistering heat, and the burning light. The Forest sung back one of snow and ice, of the unforgiving cold, and the world frozen over. The songs continued for millennia, each one more enchanting than the last. Then both fell in love, the Void sending shooting stars and meteor showers, and the Forest sending beautiful lights shows and morning doves songs. Then, one day, the Forest’s song changed. No longer was the song full of playfulness and life, but was instead a song of pain and sorrow. The Void cried out to the Forest, hoping for their love to respond, but the Forest never did. For millennia more the Void continued to sing to the Forest, but the Forest did not respond. The Void grew more worried and, one day, finally decided to break the one celestial rule, and the Void went down to the Forest. What the Void saw sent them to tears. There was the Forest, broken and bruised. The Forest’s throat had been slit, vocal cords destroyed. The Void ran to their lover and held them close. The Void so broken, took the Forest’s broken and bruised body and buried it deep in the ground. The Void then decided to give themself and the Forest proper names, so that they could forever sing the song of the Forest. It took a hundred years for the Void to come up with names, but when it did, they say that there had never been such beautiful names. The Void would be XisumaVoid, and the Forest would be GrianForest.
