"Thanatos," Mariano began, frowning slightly as he inspected his travel bag.
Thanatos didn't look up from his notebook. "Yes, Mariakes? I'm rather busy, darling." Busy scribbling a list of appropriate adjectives for Mariano's biceps, but still. It was important.
"Did you go through my bag recently? One of the brink potions ended up upside down and the stoppers are both loose. We'll have to buy new ones and everything's wet…"
Thanatos had been poking around the potions, mostly out of boredom and curiosity, and partially because he'd been trying to figure out how to fit the erotic novel he'd borrowed back into the pack. They'd smelled strange, so he'd put them away. "No. Perhaps they caught against something the last time you put them back? You were in a hurry, if I recall." He guessed it had turned itself over when he'd pulled his hand out.
"I don't think so, I checked them twice."
He closed the book. "You check them twice every time. Are you sure you're remembering the right one? These things tend to blend together." Mariano still seemed concerned, so Than put on his sweetest, most innocent smile. "What reason would I have to tamper with the medical supplies? I regenerate, you know that. You're the only potion I need."
The mage's expression loosened slightly. "I suppose you're right… Can't do anything about it now, anyway."
Than smiled again. "Precisely. Come, darling, I'll help you dry your things."
