Chapter Text
It was morning and it seemed like a normal day. And when I say normal day, I mean that it always rains in the city and everyone has their own lives. But as I said, it seemed normal, until a certain individual woke up. For some reason his bed seemed much harder than usual and was very cold? He slowly opened his eyes. When Yakou opened his eyes fully and was more aware, he was confused.
Wait, where was he? He was sure he had laid in his bed last night, how had he ended up on the floor? And this isn't is room. Really, where was he?? He got up but suddenly hit his head against something hard.
-Ouch, what the... -he looked at what he'd hit his head on and became even more confused. What the hell had he hit? A table?? And why was he under it, sleeping? He got out from under the questionable table to take a better look.
-A piano....? -he wondered. Apparently he was in the hotel. And apparently for some reason he ended up under a piano? What the hell was going on... He was absolutely sure that he had been lying in his bed, not under a piano. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to think the situation through. -“I'm going to need a cigarette...” he thought. He knew his cigarettes were in the agency and sighed. First he will go to the bathroom...
.....
When Vivia woke up, he immediately felt that something was very different. Firstly, the pillow, despite being his favorite, he knows he doesn't have one when he goes to sleep. Secondly, he wasn't lying on the hotel floor under the piano.
He likes fluffy pillows. So waking up on a fluffy pillow makes it more harder for him to get up, to sit down, and observe better the situation. He sighed.
- I want to die...
Lazily, Vivia sat up and traced his hand on the bed sheet. He knew that he had fallen asleep yesterday, as usual, under the piano in the hotel after reading his book. It was always a comfort to sleep under the piano, or in the firplace. He feels very strange sleeping in a bed. Who would put him in one?
He took a closer look at the room and determined that he was in the submarine, possibly sitting on Chief Yakou's bed as the room had items and clothes from Yakou. He picked up the chief's lighter , looking at it with a serious and thoughtful face.
He also noticed his hands, which are normally quite pale, but today they were darker. For some reason they looked familiar, as if he had seen them somewhere before.
And another very strange thing. It was very quiet. Which was a warning to him. He was used to the presence of other beings who had left this world, even after waking up he was used to feel their presence or hear them talking. For some reason he doesn't feel anything, nor does he hear voices. He squeezed the lighter in his right hand.
Suddenly the door of the agency bursts open and someone runs in. He hears a very familiar voice, but he never thought he'd hear it like that, or see different expressions on his own face.
-Vivia!!! -screamed his own voice. Vivia voice.
Which confirmed his theory. Somehow he and his boss had swapped bodies.
The door to the room where Vivia was sitting opened quickly and Vivia's body appeared, being used by Yakou. His face was frantic with exasperation. Yakou, seeing Vivia sitting on his bed, using his body, grabbed his shoulders.
-Good morning Chief.... -despite the other's panic, Vivia smiled gently at Yakou
-Is that all you have to say?? What the hell happened to make us switch bodies? -asked Yakou frantic. He sighed, letting go of the other's shoulders when he noticed that he was shaking the other. It was quite possible that even Vivia didn't know what was going on; he shouldn't take his frustrations out on the teenager.
And Yakou was sure he'd seen strange things right after he'd come out from under the piano, but he'd tried to ignore it when he saw that they weren't normal people because they were going through walls. Does Vivia have to see that every day? How could he not have gone crazy?
Meanwhile, Vivia finally got out of bed, but as always, without much haste. He sighed immediately after getting up, the back as crooked as usual and the face tired, almost as if all the energy had been sucked out of it. Yakou found it so strange to see his own face like that, he shivered.
-Hey, at least keep my back straight. I don't want my back to hurt when we get back to our own bodies. -Yakou commented, walking towards the closet with his disheveled clothes. He couldn't be dressed in the Vivia clothes anymore, firstly they were too uncomfortable and secondly he felt cold. He didn't know how Vivia managed to wear these clothes every day.
Of course, Vivia would ignore his comment and continue with his back crooked. He didn't even make the effort to change clothes. Which was something Yakou was grateful for deep down, because he couldn't imagine his body wearing Vivia's clothes. It wasn't his style.
He would have to explain to the detectives when they arrive what was going on so that they wouldn't get confused.
After getting dressed, Yakou turned to Vivia and noticed that the latter was holding his lighter. He quickly walked over to Vivia and grabbed the lighter out of his hand.
-Don't even think about smoking, kid. -Yakou said seriously. He glanced discreetly at the pack of cigarettes on the table and sighed. He really wanted to smoke, but...
As if he knew what was going on in his boss's head. Vivia picked up the pack and put it towards Yakou, ready to give him the cigarettes.
-Here, Chief...
Yakou looks indignantly at the detective and says:
-Are you crazy? I'm not going to smoke while I'm in your body.
-Huh... Why not? -vivia asks, looking confusedly at his boss
-Do you have a death wish? -Yakou asked, and seeing Vivia open his mouth to answer, said: -Oh, forget it... You do. -Yakou sighed -I'm still not going to smoke, you're young and I don't want you to be like me. -he muttered the last part to himself.
-I don't mind, Chief. -said Vivia. Seeing that Yakou was still determined not to smoke while using his body, Vivia came up with another solution: “If you want, I can smoke for you, after all, this is your body, Chief. And as I said, I don't mind… I want to die anyway...
Vivia wanted to help his boss relax in some way. That's why he didn't mind doing it for his boss.Well, he would do anything for his boss… But somehow what he said made Yakou more upset and more serious than before.
-No it's no, okay? Come on... - said Yakou, putting his lighter and cigarettes away in a safe place and then left his room. Sighing, the detective lazily followed his boss, muttering “I want to die” and “I want to continue reading my book in the fireplace”. Yakou ignored the detective's mutterings and went to his desk that have his documents and papers, opened the drawer and took out his wallet.
-Stay in the agency for now, I'll be right back. I need to buy something, quickly. If any of your fellow detectives arrive and I'm not here, explain the situation to them, okay? Okay! -Yakou smiled and didn't even wait for Vivia's reply. He quickly left the detective agency.
Vivia then went into the fireplace, picked up one of the books that was there and continued reading where he had left off. For the first time in his life, nothing was bothering him. No ghosts, no presence near the submarine. It was a strange feeling, being in that silence. But it wasn't bad...
Later...
The door opened and Yuma appeared. Yuma saw that the chief wasn't in the agency, and sitting in his chair, as he normally did, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. He went to sit down on one of the sufas, when suddenly a voice spoke.
-Good morning, Yuma... -Yakou's voice? Yuma was confused because the voice sounded like it was coming from the fireplace. He looked up and was shocked to see his boss lying inside the fireplace, reading a book like Vivia does.
-Bo...Boss?!?!
