Chapter 1: Whispers of the Dreamweaver

Chapter Text

S.Coups

I had always found comfort in the quiet moments before sleep, when the noise of the day faded into a soft hum. It was in those moments, on the edge of dreams, that my mind drifted to places unbound by reality—where the limits of the physical world dissolved into endless possibilities. People said dreams revealed the soul, reflecting fears, desires, and truths. Lately, it felt like my soul had been speaking louder than ever, pulling me into visions that felt too real to ignore.

Recently, my dreams had taken on a vividness I couldn’t explain, filled with details so sharp they lingered long after I woke up. Every night, I found myself in a world unlike anything I had ever known—a shifting landscape of colors and light. The sky was painted in swirls of lavender, gold, and crimson, while the ground rippled like liquid emerald and sapphire beneath my feet. Silver-leafed trees swayed gently, their shadows dancing as if alive.

That dream realm—what I came to think of as the dreamscape—was both freeing and unsettling. There were no familiar landmarks, only endless motion and a pulse that seemed to match my own heartbeat. It was beautiful, almost intoxicating, but beneath the wonder lingered an unshakable feeling that something important was waiting—just out of reach.

And then, he appeared.

Yoon Jeonghan.

In the ever-shifting dreamscape, Jeonghan stood out. He was calm amid the chaos, his presence steady and grounding. His hair flowed like moonlight, shimmering as if touched by starlight, and his dark eyes seemed to hold endless secrets. He looked almost unreal—dressed in flowing fabric that rippled like water, moving with an elegance that felt choreographed by the dream itself.

I was always drawn to him, compelled by a connection I couldn’t explain. The moment our eyes met, something shifted, like we were speaking without words.

“Welcome back,” Jeonghan said softly. His voice was smooth, like a melody carried by the wind. It felt warm, despite the cool light surrounding us. “You’ve been coming here often lately.”

I tried to respond, but words felt small compared to the emotions he stirred. Being near him felt sacred, like I was touching something profound.

“It feels different this time,” I finally said. “The dream feels… more real.”

Jeonghan’s gaze sharpened, his eyes searching mine. “The dream realm mirrors your mind,” he explained, his voice steady but intense. “When your soul is restless, it manifests here. It reflects what’s inside you.”

I let his words sink in, but they left me with more questions than answers. “Then why do I keep seeing you?” I asked before I could stop myself. “Why are you in my dreams?”

For the first time, Jeonghan’s calm wavered. A shadow flickered across his face. “I am a Dreamweaver,” he said quietly. “My role is to keep the balance between the dream realm and the waking world. Our worlds are connected, and sometimes, people like you are drawn here. But there’s a reason for it—even if you don’t see it yet.”

His words only deepened the mystery, and I felt an uneasy mix of curiosity and fear.

“I don’t understand,” I admitted. “What does this mean—for me? For us?”

Jeonghan stepped closer, his presence both comforting and intense. “There’s a disturbance,” he said, his tone urgent. “A dark force threatens the balance between our worlds. It’s affecting both realms, and I need your help to stop it.”

His words sent a chill through me. What had once felt like a safe escape now carried a weight of danger. The dreamscape no longer seemed like just a dream—it felt real. Alive. And it was clear that whatever was coming wouldn’t stay in the dream world for long.

When the dream faded, Jeonghan’s voice and the swirling colors lingered in my mind. Even when I woke up, I felt his presence like a shadow. The day moved forward, but part of me remained stuck in the dreamscape, drawn back to Jeonghan’s words and the danger we faced.

And no matter how much I tried to focus on reality, I couldn’t shake the feeling that my dreams had only been the beginning.
