Chapter Text
The heat in my body slowly cools bring my senses back. Them being heighten doesn’t help with the echoing in my head. There was a symphony of voices and machines flooding in all at once, I couldn’t understand anything. I tried focusing on the different sounds, but I couldn’t. One voice did stand out. It was Stryker, he told them to erase my memories.
I struggled to get out of the restraints that held me down to the metal panel was on. My new claws came out piercing my the skin between my knuckles, they were still hot. I couldn’t get out. The other men protested Stryker’s order, they refused, they said it was cruel.
“I‘ll do it my self then.”
The bang of the Adamantium bullet hitting my skull left a ringing in my ears.
———
I didn’t recognize anything around me, or even myself. What am I doing here? Who am I? The questions I couldn’t answer. I heard movement from outside of the cage I was in, I couldn’t see what it was the ringing in my ears was too loud for me to be able to focus. I stood up too fast, stumbling back against the thick steel bars. I crumbled to the ground covering my ears, the sound of guns and marching stomps filled the room.
A man walked up to me. He was no taller than 6’1 and had a buzzed head.
“Hello X. did you sleep well?” His voice was dark and bright at the same time. It was confusing.
“Who the hell are you? Why am I here?” I demanded to know.
“You’ve always been here, what do you mean?” He said calmly.
I really didn’t know if I have been here or not. It was weird, I didn’t know, but It was all blank up until now, so it makes sense, somehow. He must have saw the look on my face. He unlocked the door to the cage I was contained in. He told me to follow him, so I did. We walked past the soldiers. They all looked full of rage and sorrow, they all stopped and turned towards me and the man. Their faces turned to anger, the man abruptly stopped, making me stumble into him. He began yelling at the men, they all scrambled into position.
“Yes sir!” they all yelled in unison.
The man began walking again, I followed. We made it to what seemed to be his office. He started to begin talking to me. I was paying no attention, I was looking around and tuning into the sounds around me, I couldn’t care less what he has to say. I looked out the glass wall looking over the whole base.
“Sit down.” He said firmly.
I didn’t sit. I tilted my head down, looking through my brows.
“I said sit down.”
Again, I didn’t sit.
“Fine then, you can go back to your cage.”
I don’t like how he said that word, Like i’m some sort of animal, I’m not. I’m clearly human.
Three armed men barged in the door surrounding me. I’m too high strung right now to care so much. Two of them grab my arms and begin dragging me, while the other man holds a gun up to my head. They took the same path back to where I originally awoke, but they took a turn into a dark hallway. I began kicking, trying to break free from their grasp, but it was too strong, I felt weak for some reason. They opened a heavy door, it was thicker than the bars on the other cage and it had no windows except for a small vent at the top of the door.
There was a small cot on the floor with a very flat, thin pillow and that was it nothing else. I couldn’t even tell what time of day it was. I sat there for hours I banged on the door and yelled at the people on the other side of the door. I’m guessing it’s sound proof because they had no reaction, or they were lunatics and don’t get annoyed at all, either way i was annoyed.
I sat down on the cot, like I said it was flat. If they are gonna lock me in here, why not give me nice place rest.
I woke up to the loud door shifting open.
“Stand up Soldier!” Yelled a young man. “Colonel Stryker demands to see you!”
I get up and follow him out of the hallway back to the office. I guess that is his name. I didn’t realize that earlier, maybe that is what he told me yesterday.
“Are you going to listen today, Soldier?” He said with a smirk on his face.
I didn’t respond. He took it as a yes.
“Today we are going to teach the basics, i’m sure you already know them though, just a quick reminder if you will.”
“I don’t know them though.” I have no idea what he is talking about.
He meant teaching me how to attack. The moves were very animalistic, I don’t really like it. Each hour that passes makes me want to leave this place even more.
After the “training” he made me go back to my cell. I sat there for hours again. I think he was making this a routine, if he is, this is going to suck.
About an hour later a man slammed on the door twice and slid a tray of meat through the food slot on the ground. Great, now they are feeding me like an animal.
This goes on for a week, or close to a week. I don’t even know anymore, i’m so sick of this. I want to leave.
———
I wake up to banging sounds on the door, it isn’t familiar. I shoot up and release my claws. The banging sound stops and a voice begins.
“Logan!” He doesn’t for familiar.
I stay quiet maybe he will leave me alone, I don’t hear any movement, I guess he didn’t leave. I hear a sound of footsteps, they aren’t moving away, they are coming this way.
shit. I need to be ready in case they break in.
I hear one of them picking the lock.
“Logan, don’t worry we will get you out, just wait a minute.” The man sounds worried.
Why does he keep calling me Logan? has he mistaken me for someone else? They get the door open, and the man with stupid red googles on steps in and immediately hugs me. he definitely thinks i’m someone else.
I shove him off of me and raise my claws. his slight smile fades to a frown.
“Logan, what are you doing?”
“You must have mistaken me for someone else, i’m not Logan. I don’t know who that is.”
The woman behind him moves forward placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Logan, what are you saying?”
I ignore her question. “Who are you two?”
She says her name is Ororo and his name is Scott. They don’t sound familiar and they sure don’t look familiar, they are wearing weird black suits with an X across their chest. Weird my title is X. Maybe it doesn’t mean anything.
