Work Text:

"Give me the dog; talk to the girl," Logan said as he took sweet Mary Puppins into his arms.

Wade glanced at him and then at Vanessa to his left.

It was true that his motivation to save the timeline was Vanessa—each one of his friends, of course, but especially her.

She had been the love of his life, he had thought, until their paths diverged.

Though she had been his perfect love for so long, he had now found someone with whom he could truly be himself in a way he couldn’t with anyone else.

And that person was to his right, holding his dog and talking to his friends with a relaxed smile.

The slow realization was terrifying at first, but then it brought him calm.

What was there to lose?

He moved his thigh to brush against Logan’s under the table.

Logan looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey," Wade said, smiling and resting his head on his hand.

"Hey," Logan responded, confused. "What are you doing?" he whispered so only the two of them could hear.

"Talking to the girl," Wade answered.

Logan furrowed his brows, then widened his eyes, a small smile forming on his lips. "Me?" Call Wade an optimist, but he could swear there was a hint of hope in Logan’s eyes.

"Yeah, no shit, how do they call you now, Logan Holmes? They should hire you to solve—"

As Wade spoke, Logan sat up, grabbed Wade by the back of his shirt, and pulled him away from the table.

"Excuse us for a second," Logan said as they walked out of the apartment and into the hall.

He closed the door behind them and pushed Wade against the wall, gripping the collar of his shirt.

Wade could feel Logan’s breath on his face.

"If you were joking, bub, you better confess it now."

"Listen," Wade said seriously, "I get it if you didn’t like the 'girl' part, but in my defense, you were the one who said it first! If you want, I could call you pretty boy, or baby, or sweet little—"

Logan interrupted by crashing their mouths together. One hand moved to the back of Wade’s neck, while the other wrapped around his waist, pulling them closer.

The kiss tasted of desperation; Logan’s tongue explored Wade’s mouth, and the hands holding him drove him wild.

When they finally separated, Wade gasped for air.

"Can’t wait to shut you up like this every time you won’t stop babbling," Logan said hoarsely.

"Fucking shit, warn a girl before you say stuff like—"

Logan didn’t let him finish. They kissed again, more desperately. Wade wrapped his arms around Logan’s neck, while Logan’s hands moved to the back of his thighs, ready to lift him.

"Hey guys, everything alri—"

Peter stood by the door, looking surprised and confused.

"We thought you were fighting. Haha, sorry guys, you keep doing your thing." He closed the door with an amused smile and a wink at Wade.

"They’re fine! It wasn’t THAT kind of fight!" they heard Peter call through the door.

Logan broke the silence first.

"We should go inside, bub."

"Well, you’re the one who brought us here in the first place."

"What? Do you regret it?" Logan asked with a raised eyebrow and a playful smile that made Wade’s stomach flutter.

Wade gave him a quick kiss.

"If I regret anything, it’s not calling you 'girl' earlier. If that’s all it took for you to kiss me like that."

Logan laughed at him. He was laughing at his jokes now. Wow, he really had tamed the kitty.

He could look at himself in Logan's eyes, his own love reflected in brown orbs that looked at him with that same feeling.

"I’m going to have to make it up to you for all that time, then."

And now he was flirting. God, he never thought he’d get this far. He almost didn’t know how to respond.

"That would be very nice," Wade said, smiling even more.

"Let’s go inside, darling." Logan kissed his cheek.

"Sure—WAIT—what did you call me???"

"Ah, never mind." Logan opened the door and walked in.

Wade followed him home.

These idiots won't leave my mind, so I thought I might as well write fanfiction to deal with it.
