Tokoyami huddled inside his room, his shadow swirling around him worriedly. It was shedding month for Tokoyami and all his feathers on his head was shedding off for a new coat. He absolutely hated this because it always made him look a bit bald on some spots.
”Toko… you can’t keep hiding in the dark.” The shadow growled, growing restless in the dark room.
”I know… but what would they say Fuko?” The bird-head whined, flopping onto his bed.
”Then at least let me cover your head if you need to go out.” Fuko grumbled. “Staying in this dark room and controlling myself to stay put is driving me crazy.”
Tokoyami sighed and nodded. The shadow chirped in delight and cloaked Tokoyami. He soon walked out, though looking a bit more intimidating now that he had his shadow’s bright yellow eyes.
“Yooo! New look is great on you!” Sero chuckled, patting Tokoyami on the back.
”Why thank you!” His shadow chirped happily, the yellow eyes being very expressive. Tokoyami, underneath the shadow cloak, was fuming red and covered his mouth.
Momo gasped. “Is Tokoyami’s shadow speaking for Tokoyami now?”
”If you think it that way, then yea!” His shadow exclaimed cheerfully.
”That is actually so adorable!” Mina giggled.

What are you DOING Fuko?!
You never let me out, so now I’m going to take this advantage as much as I can.
Fuko you can’t be serious!

Tokoyami shuffled awkwardly to the kitchen, hoping to distract the shadow with food. He wondered if anyone would start questioning his new look or the trail of shedding feathers that he was leaving behind. It wasn’t long before the froggy student approached Tokoyami with a handful of his shedded feathers.
”Kero, uhhh… are these yours?” Tsuyu croaked sweetly. “Is it shedding month for you?”
Internally, Tokoyami was freaking out. Then, Fuko, the shadow, started doing the thing Tokoyami feared most. “Ooooo! Tsuyu Asui right?”
”Ah… yes, kero?” Tsuyu tilted her head.

Not during the dreaded SHEDDING MONTH!

Tokoyami resorted to hiding in the kitchen for the rest of the day. He could keep his shadow satiated and be in an effective spot to hide from most of the other students. His shadow would pester him from time to time. The worst part was that Tsuyu, being the sweet frog that she was, continued to keep checking in on Tokoyami, worried about his odd behavior and how his shadow was acting up too.
"Kero, are you sure you are okay?" Tsuyu tilted her head worriedly.
"Yes-." Tokoyami tried to speak before his shadow started to speak for him.
"Ohhh Tsuyu! He is being the biggest bore and-." The shadow started speaking in Tokoyami's voice but much exaggerated.
Tokoyami was quick to force his shadow off him and dart his way to his room. Tsuyu watched on nervously as the bird-head student ran off. She hesitantly hopped towards his room's door and quickly pressed her ear up to the door. She could hear angry shouts and stuff clattering around in the room. It got to the point that Shoto, his next-door roommate, came out from the noise. The two students looked at each other before looking back at the door. "I... I'm going to get some food." Shoto muttered before breezing past Tsuyu. The froggy student wrung her hands quietly before creaking the door open.

What is going on with you today you pest?!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? MY PROBLEM IS THAT YOU CAN'T GET OVER YOURSELF!
You are BOLD for saying that! You shouldn't even be able to do that much let alone have independent thoughts from me! What gives?!
Because YOU bundle up all your unspoken and dark thoughts in ME!
W...What? That doesn't make sense.
It DOES make sense! You bundle up all your soft and sweet feelings and end up being... like THIS dramatic bloke bird! And with you being so moody with your shedding season it makes it even WORSE! You might think you know so much about your Quirk but you know nearly NOTHING other than the fact I'm just an extra arm for you!
Okay fine. I get it if you are frustrated with me. But it doesn't give you every excuse to go and just TAKE over my whole body and do whatever you want!

Tsuyu froze as she watched Tokoyami's shadow-claw slash towards her face. She snapped her eyes shut and waited for the impact, but there was none. She slowly cracked an eye open to see Tokoyami breathing heavily, his arm raised up towards her face but frozen still. One eye was his bright yellow shadow's eye and the other one his own. They both were wide with shock staring at the froggy student. Tokoyami seemed much different, half his body cloaked in his shadow and some parts not. He backpedaled with wide and bewildered eyes.
