Chapter Text
“Alright class, today I’m setting you a task, you’ll all be working together over the next week to come up with a strategy for this certain hero capture mission. Similar to the one that happened two years ago at the base we found Shigaraki and One for all’s Doctor, sometimes hero’s all have to pull together as one big group. In the hand out that Iida is bringing round, you have all the information that you would preferably know at the start of compiling a take over mission as a large group of hero’s. Use all class time for the next week to come up with a plan and choose two or three of you to present it to me by this time next week.”
Everyone looked around at each other with a mixed look of shock, excitement, annoyance and a few faces of indifference. Knowing they would be working together certainly brung up quite a large range of emotions within 3A. By the time anyone had stopped looking around to ask the usual questions of: ‘can I work on my own?’ Or ‘Does it have to be all together?’ They had found Aizawa already led down in his bright yellow crusty sleeping bag.
Since everything that happened with The Paranormal Liberation Front in there first year, most had always wondered whether they would ever do a big project like this. Last year, they split the class in half and worked with those in the class they knew wouldn’t incite too many different opinions so they could get the work done in time for a very similar task, however, this year, they were all together. Everyone seemed to have the same feeling of ‘this could go very wrong at any second’
Of course those people were proven very correct extremely quickly. They had all agreed to head back to the dorms together to start working on an premise idea in a more comfortable environment, but as soon as comfy clothes and snacks were gathered, and everyone had sat down, the air filled with a thick tension.
No one spoke, no one dared even say anything out loud, too afraid of their idea being shut down. Everyone seemed to be too worried about being shut down due to differing opinions than actually worrying about whether they started with the project. p>
“Why don’t we start with talking about the mission back then, maybe we could jog our memories and help us think of our own?” Finally Momo spoke up, shyly breaking the thick silence plaguing the project. There was a murmur of agreement and then Midoryia spoke up.
“Two years ago, hero’s secretly got in and gained information on a growing group across the entire country of japan. Maybe we start with that?”
”The project sheet states that they did that dumbass. We have the locations and lists of crucial members involved. Read the damn sheet Deku!” Bakugou shouted across the common room, glaring down at the sheet in his hands, flipping through, skim reading the information they had already been given.
“Seeing as you’re the one flipping through the work sheet, does it say whether we can use outside pro-hero’s or just us as a class?” Momo asked, looking over with deep thought, clearly not the only one trying to figure out how to go around this assignment.
“It says we can us any pro-hero’s we want, but we have to reason as to why we want them to work with us as it is supposed to be us as a group who deal with the main situation…” He drawls out, reciting what he was reading in a partially monotone voice.
”well then I say we start working on it with just us as a group and then add any pro’s that fill in any of the gaps we miss.” Ochako looks up from her hands placed on her crossed legs and shyly suggests her idea to the rest of the room.
“Seems like a good way to start…” Bakugou says, still not looking up from the paper, shocking everyone else in the room. Even though complements on hero work had increased from Bakugou across the last two years, compliments on strategising had been rare. Everyone seemed to simply shrug it off though, maybe he was just warming up to that a bit more. No one wants to be the one to discourage him from niceties.
From there, they all seemed to get on with the projects, ideas flowing more easily after the initial break through. Eventually blankets were broken out and snacks were brought into the room.
Working as a class certainly wasn’t as difficult as they thought it would be but definitely wasn’t easy either. Todoroki’s ideas normally clashed with previous planning, however still brung up good points causing frustration in having to go back, Mineta kept trying suggest Mount Lady as a pro-hero they should bring in, even after the copious amounts of screaming and head slaps directed at him, and Denki kept getting slightly caught up on the small details of what the mission actually was, causing them to work slightly slower at the annoyance of Bakugou.
People were finally working well together as a massive group, and to the relief if the class, it didn’t take most of the project time to achieve this. Things seemed to really be rolling in a good direction. Eventually, they called it a night and said they would do more work on the project tomorrow.
”If anyone has any ideas during the night, write them down, do not disturb anyone over message with putting ideas on the group chat please!” Iida yelled as everyone started traipsing out of the common room, groggily moving towards the separate hallways in little gaggles, very ready for bed.
Bakugou 9:36pm:
Hey pink cheeks, good call at the beginning there, real life saver for the project if you ask me…
Ochako 9:36pm:
Thank you! Not like you to praise strategizing so it means a lot! :)
Bakugou 9:37pm:
Well normally no one is any good at it so take it as a hint to think a bit more like that. Night.
Ochako 9:38pm:
Good night :)
Ochako was pleased at Bakugou's praise. This meant people were finally noticing her hard work for what it is. Maybe everyone else might start to see it like that too.
Bakugou led there nervous, wondering if starting this line of conversation would end the way he was hoping…
