shen jiu’s eyes fluttered open , immediately closing because of the sunlight , how strange … he didn’t remember leaving the curtains open
he didn’t remember sleeping at all
immediately , he tensed up , trying his best to remember , to guess where he is
these sheets … were they qian cao’s ? why was he there ? did he have a qi deviation ?
he tried to circle his qi , find anything amiss , but he couldn’t
“shixiong ? shixiong are you awake ?” mu qingfan’s voice called from close by , startled by his action perhaps
shen jiu opened his eyes to glare at the man
“what . am . I . doing . here. ” he asked , articulating each word from between hi teeths , dread coursing through his veins , fear of being alone with a suspiciously guilty looking man
he saw mu qingfan take a deep breath before he started explaining that apparently , shen jiu was found unconscious by his head disciple , who called for mu qingfan to come
shen jiu scowled
“and ? what is it ?”
just say it’s a qi deviation , recite the thing you say every time and let me go , why even bring me here ?
"shixiong" mu qingfan started , taking his gaze away from the other man
he did not see the flinch shen jiu gave , oh no , shen jiu did NOT like that tone
"how much more are you going to keep me wa-"
"you are pregnant"
".......... ha ?"
there was absolute silence for a second
“this one is sorry-”
“say that again”
“.....”
“I said say that again” shen jiu replied , with something in his tone the doctor couldn’t fully decipher , something desperate
“shen shixiong … you are two weeks pregnant”
two week ….shen jiu stared at his belly , putting a hand on it
he bowed his head , his hair falling and making mu qingfan unable to see his expression
shen jiu let a look of awe appear on his face , a smile of happiness , he was pregnant , with a child , shen yuan’s child
a tear fell from his eye ,dropping on the hand that was protectively caressing his stomach
when mu qingfan saw the tear , not knowing it came from happiness , he looked even more guilty
two weeks ago shen qingqiu was sent on a mission involving demons , not only was he late by a day when he is usually very punctual , but he came back … disheveled
well he was still all proper , but it was in the way his hair wasn’t as smooth , his steps not as certain , shaking , and his neck
when mu qingfan noticed the bite , he hadn’t thought much about it , shen qingqiu obviously tried to hide it , so mu qingfan didn’t find neither the reason nor the fuck for him to comment on it
but now that he knows , truly knows what happened , he finds that guilt is eating him alive
shen qingqiu didn’t trust them enough to tell them what happened , this was a fact
they had to find out this way
“shen-” but before he could talk , shen qingqiu stood up ,staring at him with a blank face
“I need some time alone”
mu qingfan could do nothing but let him leave
when yue qingyuan tried to stop shen qingqiu , he sent a look on his direction
please sect leader , don’t dig yourself into a deeper pit

this string of thought keep replying in shen jiu’s head from the moment he heard the news to now , in his bamboo house , sitting on his bed and just , thinking

in any way , he need to leave ,even in the best case scenario where they think this was against his will , they would want to terminate the baby , and shen jiu would rather die
making his mind , he got to work , organizing schedules , making lesson plans , while also writing a letter for ming fan
when everything was in order , he nodded to himself satisfied , he sat down for a moment , feeling tired , he would soon leave this place

shen jiu stares at the door , he refuse to open it , if he does , yue qingyuan would see that he is trying to leave

the other side was silent for some time

shen jiu’s gaze hardneed , what did this mean ? did they have a meeting ? did they decide to kill him ?
he gritted his teeths
“when have you not ? do you think your apologizes are enough ?! get out of here”

“don’t make me say this twice-!” shen jiu glared , ignoring the tears in his eyes , he felt weak all of a sudden , he wanted to go home “ please ”
“.......” shen jiu waited a beat “very well”
he waited , till he was sure the sect leader was nowhere near , he grabbed his qiankun spouch ,and mounted on his sword and set off

a meeting was held , yet unlike their usual meetings , silences filled this one , not all the peak lord were present , yue qingyuan didn’t want to people who didn’t need to know to do
qi qingqi raised her hand
“the demon , we should find that thing and make sure it death is painfully slow”
no one disagreed , everyone here had a mixture of anger and guilt in their faces , they need to make it up to their shixiong , no matter what

liu qingge flew to qingjing peak the next morning holding a carcass

walking to the bamboo house , liu qingge realize that it’s silent , too silent here

“I see , you can leave it here I will give it to shizun later”
liu qingge paused , sensing something wrong
“where is shen qingqiu ?”
ming fan’s shoulder tensed , that was all liu qingge needed before running to the bamboo house
“shishu !”
he kicked the door open
“shen qingqiu !”
the silence made liu qingge’s blood ran cold , he yelled again , looking into the entire house
“shishu stop-! you will break shizun’s things !”
the head disciple’s shout brought liu qingge back to reality , he turned to the boy and grabbed him by the collar
“where is shen qingqiu ?”
ming fan stayed silent
“where . is . shen qingqiu .” he repeated
“gone , you all made shizun go away ”
meanwhile , the shizun in question :
shen jiu waited , fanning himself , hiding a small smile , while his thumb would occasionally rub is stomach
although he looked cold from the outside , there was a nervous excited energy enveloping him , something that shen yuan , who came as fast as he could after receiving shen jiu’s missile , could notice in one glance
he smiled , calling out “jiu’er~!” to get his wife’s attention
when shen jiu spotted him , he relaxed , putting his fan away to show a loving warm smile
forget that nobody would call that a smile , so small it’s basically non existent , for shen yuan that was enough to make him giggle , twirl his hair and kick his feet like a love sick maiden
“darling , what prompted this early visit , not that I am not happy , but did something happen ?”
he hit the nail right in the head , shen jiu seemed to hesitate , almost reaching out for his fan before giving up on it
he shook his head
“let’s to somewhere more private first”
“alright then”
shen yuan took shen jiu’s hand in his , warming his lover’s ever cold fingers , they walked together , shoulder to shoulder , till they reached an empty neighborhood , where the teleportation array shen yuan and shen jiu uses to quickly go to one another is

but the moment they went the other way , shen jiu threw up in a corner

shen yuan absolutely panicked , his knowledge about humans is pretty limited for sure , but shen jiu never had this reaction when they used that array ? What could be different now ?

shen yuan’s focus once again centered around his lover , who seemed to be pondering on something
the more he stood there , the more embarrassed shen jiu looked , before he finally sighed
“I am pregnant”
