Work Text:
"Good morning!"
Yuki could have Kokoro greet them every morning. And she has been lately, for a few weeks, actually.
They could've sworn that after graduating, they'd get their first sort of crappy apartment, stay in there for a few years. They didn't expect to move in with Kokoro right away, but in true Kokoro fashion, she exclaimed that 'if you want something you should be able to get it as soon as possible', and suddenly everything was arranged and all of their belongings were at the mansion and they already had their own room.
That... was fine, probably. If Setsuna was so set on remaining an idol, it would probably be better to live somewhere that seemed to be heavily guarded at all times. Better safe than sorry.
Also, Kokoro was there, so that was a bonus.
"Hello, Kokoro." they speak with a voice that sounds distant to their own ears, and as much as they're trying to do something to their hair, their hands won't cooperate long enough to manage it.
"Hi!" she greets again, all sunshine, skipping over to Yuki, "Who's around today?"
"Ah— It's still pretty early in the morning, I don't quite know yet? Besides..."
Even if they were to figure it out, it would probably just be Setsuna again.
Nana hasn't made her presence known in a while. Over time, it was as if she was fading away. Shorter and shorter times spent outside, less and less proof that she was still around.
She was. Even after moving here, Setsuna found new post-it notes with her handwriting on it, but from the looks of things, that's all she had.
Kokoro didn't seem to have seen her, either.
"That's okay! Take your time!"
And she's being so nice about it too.
Yuki takes a few seconds to breathe, they can't let Kokoro know something's wrong. Not yet, not again.
"Say, could you help me with my hair? I can't seem to be able to get this ponytail right."
They don't even know if it was a ponytail they were aiming for.
"Sure!"
But Kokoro doesn't ask. Yuki's thankful that she doesn't, honestly.
Although, how could she know if they don't say anything.
Kokoro's hands are skillful, gentle in their work, and when Yuki opens their eyes again, their hair is up.
"Is this okay?"
"Yes... Thank you." they say bashfully, embarrassed to have Kokoro of all people help with their hair.
Then again, she is just a girl, as Yuki is comprised of.
A girl who they walk to school, getting dragged along more than anything, hand being pulled by another's hand.
Setsuna misses Nana, and she's pretty sure Nana misses Kokoro as much.
She'll write her a letter when she gets back home.
