Summary
The muted glow of his phone’s lock screen showed 1:17 AM. Sukuna put the screen to sleep and slipped his phone into his back pocket. He returned to watching Yuuji’s house for any movement. The last light had gone off nearly two hours previous, but Sukuna didn’t want to rush the plan. He’d been careful every step of the way, building to this moment with precise, specific steps.
He’d escalated, some might say, and he didn’t want to misstep now after all the hard work he’d put in over the weeks. It would be so easy to lose himself to his building excitement, but he was a man in control of himself. What he was going to do, he was going to do right. The reward would be worth it.
The shadows around him seemed to wrap him in their embrace making him nearly invisible to any person who might look out their window. The cloud coverage provided additional security, obscuring the glowing moon.
The clanging crash of metal trash cans falling rent through the air followed by a yowling hiss of the furry perpetrator.
Still, the lights within the house remained off.
