Marital Advice

Summary:

Day 21 - Hunger

For this prompt, I thought about a favourite scene between Charlotte and Lady Susan and how to revisit it post marriage, especially bearing in mind our heroine in S1 and her wide-eyed wonder/naivety. I see Lady Susan as providing a worldly perspective for her young friend,

Yet again, once I started, it became apparent that this would need to be more than one chapter, so the next one will follow tomorrow.

Chapter 1: Tell Me, My Dear

Chapter Text

Lady Susan is expecting her Dear Friend to call.

Mrs Charlotte Parker.

Their last interaction was on the Wedding Day.

Now THAT was a love match.

No one could doubt it, seeing the besotted pair at the Altar.

Susan noted the expression on Mr P’s face later.

Watching his beautiful Bride.

Pure Hunger.

And who could blame him!

Envious looks from his friends.

Charlotte was a lucky woman indeed!

After happy greetings, the servants are dismissed.

Privacy.

Tell me, My Dear. How are you finding marriage? Susan enquires.

Her friend blushes deeply, lowering her eyes.

Susan pats her hand patiently.

Chapter 2: An Affliction

Summary:

So here is the conclusion, let’s find out how Charlotte is getting on with Marriage!
Lady Susan will steer her right.

Chapter Text

I know you said love is like an affliction. But I am suffering most dreadfully.

Susan raises her eyebrows, encouraging Charlotte to continue.

Before, Sidney inspired an anger in me, which I now understand was something completely different. Should a Wife feel such Hunger for Her Husband? A look, touch or his velvety voice ignites me. 🔥🔥

Susan chokes back a laugh. 🤭🤭

A love match is rare and wonderful, a completely natural reaction, not to be suppressed. Clearly a Heywood Family trait, with your many siblings. 😉😉

Charlotte’s eyes widen in shock. 😳😳

Goodness me! That’s why my stomach is attracting constant attention!
