For whatever reason, the Clown knew his crew very well. Crocodile had seen him addressing each and every one of them by name, and seemed to know a lot of personal details about them all as well. He was also oddly protective over them, Crocodile noticed. Many of his more reasonable stipulations for the alliance centered around the benefits due to his crew or their living conditions.

"if a Marine or two are captured and brought here, morale among their troops will tank. Marines will have to look over their shoulders constantly, won't be able to trust any islandThat’s where the raw materials come from right? Poor islands mining their resources? If the Marines stop trades coming from poor islands, people will have to find money somewhere, maybe from bounties.” You used your pawn to flick over his King, winning the game. “Everyone has their uses,” you finished, sitting back and folding your hands in your lap.
Crocodile looked at you in awe. You had single handedly solved a problem that had been plaguing not only Cross Guild, but everyone fighting against the World Government. Not only that, but done it while winning a chess game and ignoring Crocodile’s nasty attitude. Crocodile could have kissed you right then and there, he didn’t think he would find anyone as brilliant as you if he searched every Blue in the world. You’d earned more than Crocodile’s respect, you had his admiration, something only the Pirate King had held before.
“That’s all it took to make you happy, huh?”
Crocodile grunted. “And how do you know I’m happy, hm?” He was elated you’d solved his problem, but it bothered Crocodile to no end that he couldn’t hide some of his emotions from you.
“You’re twirling your cigar. You only do that when you’re really happy,” Normally, Crocodile would be irritated at your observation, but he was in the mood for celebration.
and you ask him to fck
“And what if I’m not interested?”
“You are,” you said definitively, “I know you’re interested.” plopping yourself in his lap. Crocodile gently grabbed your face and squished your cheeks You were sitting in the lap of one of the most powerful men in the world, taunting him relentlessly, and still had the audacity to smile like the cat that ate the cream. Crocodile couldn’t have been more titillated.
“How?” Crocodile purred indulgently. “I didn’t run my hand through my hair. How do you know?”
“You’re polishing your hook, means you’re intrigued. Like a cat flicking its tail,” you replied, “but I’ll give you time to pretend to think it over.” You pushed off of Crocodile’s lap

“What I don’t want to hear is your insolence. You have forgotten your place - I am your Captain and you are but a maid who cleans my office. I have no need of your services at the moment. Be gone,” Crocodile said acridly, dismissing you with a wave of his hook. He pointedly returned his attention to the papers on his desk, aware that you turned on your heel and left without a word and without retrieving your clothes.
Crocodile had immediate feelings of regret as he remembered the hurt look that had momentarily flashed across your face. He’d spent so long getting you to trust him and he’d wiped it out in mere moments.
then you get sick he takes care of you and even pay marco

“I think I can make my point this way,” you said, sitting down on the carpet opposite Crocodile. He pursed his lips, he didn’t like you sitting on the floor.
“Daz, please bring a chair,” Mr. 1. Daz nodded and brought back a high backed chair.
-
“Such a brat,” Crocodile scoffed, lighting his cigar. If you coughed a single time, he would put it out.
-
A small cough accompanied your smile.Crocodile scowled, putting out his cigar in the crystal ashtray to his right.“I’ll join your crew. That’s what you want, right?"
“That is not a suitable reward for me. I do not wish to seek the One Piece" Mihawk stated, feigning disinterest in your position. Mihawk was lying. Both of them knew your foresight to put bounties on the Marines had been a tremendous success. Mihawk was not one to waste a valuable resource such as yourself and did want your loyalty. Besides, Crocodile had seen a few chess guides on Mihawk’s deskyou win
