Golden Years

Summary:

After the League attacks UA at the training camp, the classes are forced to move into dorms, else they'd be expelled.
Izumi Midoriya has a small problem though-
She can't leave her kid behind at home.

Notes:

This fic is named for Golden Years by Billy Cobb
While I'm still working on Black Sabbath, Dark Enough to See the Stars (as well as an unreleased spin-off of Dark Enough to See the Stars) I had an idea for a fun fic. This is not replacing anything, I just wanted to do something with an idea I've been bouncing around in my head for a bit. This is what I had the energy for writing today. I just like the idea of Izu as a parent, they seem like they'd be a good one, especially with how they treat Eri and Kota.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Class 1A was no stranger to odd things during their school year. Very few people outside of 1A could say their teacher, a professional hero, introduced himself by worming his way into the room with a sleeping bag. They were used to the oddities of a BDSM themed heroine teaching them art (Ms. Kayama is a truly kind and caring individual outside of her persona, they quickly discovered). They got used to having a radio host and hero as their English teacher, they got used to an albino raccoon being the principal of their school, they even got used to being attacked by villains.

But they never fully “got” Izumi Midoriya. Izumi was the sunshine girl of the class, possibly the whole school. She was a shy girl at heart, and opened up slowly, or was rather dragged out of her shell by Ochaco Uraraka and Mina Ashido. She was able to befriend most people she came across, even with more stern or cold exteriors like Shoto, Hitoshi and Neito. But even her closest friends like Ochaco, Tenya and Tsuyu did not fully understand her sometimes. Some days she would come into class utterly disheveled and tired, eyebags rivalling their own teacher Eraserhead’s. Other days she would have cartoonish bandages with cats and heroes on them over her hands and neck. Or sometimes she would be coated in stickers and be peeling them off while she took notes. Today she was sprinkled with glitter, not for the first time.

“Izumi? Why are you so sparkly?”

Tooru leaned over her desk to talk to Izumi before class started.

“If you would ask moi, I would say she looks tres magnifique!”

Aoyama jumped to the girl’s side with an elaborate pose, using his quirk to sparkle slightly alongside her. Izumi tiredly giggled at her friend’s antics.

“Hehe- it’s nothing to worry about. At least this stuff is biodegradable and not itchy.”

“Oh gosh, I’ve been coated in glitter before, what a nightmare, so itchy. Bleh. You’re lucky girl.”

Mina stuck her tongue out to “bleh” before giggling.

“Jeez Zumi. I don’t get it. You always come in like… sleep deprived or covered in glitter. You say you’ve got a part time job but like… are you a stripper or somethin’ girl?”

Denki asked before Kyouka jabbed him in the neck with a jack.

“Idiot! You can’t just say that!”

“Kaminari! I would ask you do not imply such things about our esteemed classmate!”

Tenya rushed in, arms chopping towards Denki as the boy sputtered.

“I mean, she’s got the looks for it, but it is rude to say bro.”

Sero pat Denki on the shoulder.

“Thanks? I think?”

Izumi tilted her head, questioning the boys in her class even more than usual.

“CAN YOU EXTRAS NOT TALK ABOUT THE NERD FOR TEN SECONDS?! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO STUDY BEFORE CLASS!!”

Katsuki shouted over the rest of the “extras” as they surrounded Izumi at her desk. Momo and Tenya went to scold Katsuki for yelling as the conversation around Izumi continued.

“I just don’t get it girl. Where do you get so… glittery?”

Kaminari shrugged and shook his head.

“Kero. Have you considered she might just be a babysitter?”

“Ohhhhhh and she’d be doing arts and crafts and stuff, that makes sense!”

Tsuyu posed and Denki instantly accepted this explanation. Izumi was going to thank Tsuyu but the conversation was cut short by Aizawa entering the room.

“Looks like most of you are in your seats. Good. Iida, Kaminari, ten laps around the gym before heroics today for not being in your seats. I have a few announcements to make.”

Denki bolted to his seat, mentally berating himself for not remembering the time. Tenya bowed and walked backwards towards his seat, apologizing to Aizawa for his misdeeds. Aizawa simply rolled his eyes.

“I’m glad to see that all of you are recovering well from the attack on our summer camp. It was a disastrous event that should have never occurred under our watch. I am deeply sorry.”

Aizawa bowed to the class, causing them to erupt into chaos, Aizawa silenced them with one hand.

“However, we shall be completely overhauling UA’s security measures and screenings to make sure this never happens again. I will be meeting with any and all guardians to discuss the future of this class. In addition, we will be making new dorms for all of the classes. You will be required to be moved into the dorms for the remainder of this year at the bare minimum. Failure to do so will result in immediate transferral out of the school. It is unfortunate, but it’s all we can do to keep you safe currently.”

A loud SNAP from a pencil was heard across the room. Izumi was shell shocked with shards of wooden splinters shattered across her hand and notebook. Tenya went to scold her for the disruption, but Aizawa pushed on ahead before he could do so.

“You need to be in English class in 5 minutes, go.”

Aizawa curled up into his sleeping bag and shut out the rest of the world as the class emptied out. He only closed his eyes for a moment before a small voice jolted him out of his moment of rest.

“S-sensei? Um… I think I need to withdraw from this course…”

Izumi’s voice was filled with fear and sadness, a mix Shouta absolutely DESPISED hearing in the problem child. Even if she could attract problems like a flame for moths, she was HIS problem child. He shot up before she finished the sentence.

“Why?”

His tone was shocked, but soft. He figured any amount of gruffness would not be appreciated, and most likely not cohesive to any actual conversation. He was just truly struggling to understand why the most heroic and self sacrificing student he had seen since Oboro was about to drop out.

“It’s um….”

“Work? UA can reimburse any lost revenue during your time- it is our fault for-”

“Nonononono- that’s not it at all!”

She blurted out, shaking her head and hands profusely.

“I-I have a remote job- I- I could do that wherever but…”

She tapped her fingers together nervously. A small trickle of tears met her cheeks.

“I need to be at home… there’s people who need me there…”

Aizawa got up to properly face his student. He put a hand on her shoulder, doing his best to offer support and keep her steady.

“Hey. It’s okay. Let me know what’s going on and we can work to fix it. UA is… we’ll. We do things differently. You know that.”

The girl giggled slightly, and the stream of tears stopped. She wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand.

“Well. Um… I sorta… have a kid.”

Aizawa was now certain he was actually asleep.

“Oh good. The student I see as my daughter has a kid. I am a spiritual grandfather. Definitely still dreaming.”

“Sensei?... You muttered that out loud.”

Izumi worriedly responded and Shouta slapped himself in the face.

“Welp. Looks like your muttering has influenced my own.”

“You see me as a daughter?”

“Later- first… we should discuss your kid with Nedzu and see what arrangements should be made. I was planning on meeting your mother tonight for the dorm meeting so- we could probably even do that now. Lord knows Nedzu is hounding me to finally cut back from hours in my office… I just need to do the paperwork.”

“T-that would be wonderful. Thank you sensei.”

“It’s no issue, problem child. Now go to class before Present Mic panics that you’re not there. I’ll call you out when I’m ready.”

“Okay! Thank you!”

Izumi grabbed Aizawa into a hug.

“... kid you know you’re hugging me right?”

“You called yourself my dad, you’re stuck with me now. Well- unless you follow in the footsteps of my dad and some of mom’s boyfriend’s- in which case-”

Aizawa took a deep breath in, before silencing Izumi by returning the hug.

“You’re lucky you’re my favorite problem child.”

Izumi shot a message off to her mother to let her know that she and her teacher were going to be heading home soon to discuss the dorm situation with her.

Lil Green: Hi Momma! Love you! Just want to clarify everything is okay- Sensei and I are going to be coming home over lunch to discuss some things with UA moving forward, could you make sure Hana is up for guests?

Mamadoriya: That sounds nice, I’ll be sure to make extra lunch for your teacher to bring home! I’ll make sure Hana is okay with being around, and that if she is, she’ll be cleaned up and proper for our guest.

Lil Green: I’m sure he’ll be happy to have some homecooked food, from what I’ve seen he mainly eats jelly pouches.

Mamadoriya: Oh like the green apple ones Hana has?

Lil Green: The exact same.

Mamadoriya: Well, it is nice to know we have some to offer him as well. See you soon honey!

The girl wandered into Present Mic’s classroom, a little late but not anything to be concerned with. The man was late to most of his own classes anyway. Tenya still scolded her for arriving after the bell, and tried to hammer home that heroes need to arrive in time to save the most lives, but was understanding when Izumi said she needed to speak to Aizawa.

“Would this be a meeting discussing the fact that you discovered that you are his secret love child?”

Shoto pretty much slid next to Izumi, who sighed and slumped down into her seat.

“Shoto, just because All Might isn’t my dad doesn’t mean a pro hero is my father.”

“But is Aizawa not your father?”

“He is no-”

Izumi paused for a brief moment.

“He did say he considered me his kid…

“He is not my biological father.”

“Fascinating.”

Shoto nodded his head, then opened a scrapbook containing pictures of pro heroes with Izumi at the center. Each line linking the pictures listed ways they could be connected. Shoto scribbled something unintelligible onto the page where Eraser was shown.

“Hey listeners! Are you ready for-”

Present Mic was about 3 steps into the room before Eraser knocked him out of the way.

“Midoriya, please come with me.”

Present Mic dramatically posed where he was knocked onto the floor.

“Sho- why?”

“Family emergency.”

Izumi grabbed her things and walked out of the room beside Aizawa.

Present Mic dusted himself off and got to his desk. He was about to start his lesson when he noticed Shoto had a gleam in his eyes and was furiously writing down something in a notebook, with pictures of Izumi and Shouta next to eachother. Mic sighed before he got into his lesson.

“Problem Child…”

Izumi and Aizawa had a relatively silent walk to the train station and then to the Midoriya household. When they arrived at the apartment complex-

“Complex? It seems quite simple to me!”

A small white rodent popped out of Aizawa’s scarf and Izumi lept roughly three feet in the air in surprise with a yelp.

“Am I a mouse, a bear or a dog? Nomatter, I am the Principal of UA, thank you for inviting me along with my dear Shouta to your home Ms. Midoriya.”

The greenette regained her composure after the outburst.

“Pleased to have you Principal Nedzu sir!”

“Just Nedzu dear.”

“Right. Ummm- okay I didn’t consider this so uh… You may want to stay in Aizawa’s capture scarf.”

Izumi muttered out nervously, tapping her fingertips together. Nedzu nodded but asked.

“Why would that be?”

“My daughter has a cat quirk… and I am unsure of how she may react to you. She does like chasing laser pointers so she does have some cat instinct to her.”

Nedzu simply chuckled.

“Ah no worries my dear! I have planned for such an occasion.”

The stoat shot back down into Aizawa’s scarf for a moment, before resurfacing.

“Here we are! An official Principal Nedzu Plush, lifesize scale. If she wants to play with a mouse-like creature, she will be content with this hopefully!”

“... I didn’t know you made plushies…”

“I will have one delivered to your housing as soon as possible. Now then, let us begin the meeting.”

Izumi unlocked the door and entered, and called out to the kitchen.

“Momma! Hana! I’m home! My teacher and the principal are here too!”

“Mommy!”

A small blur of gold and green skittered across the ground before pouncing onto Izumi, who scooped them up into a hug. The small girl nuzzled into Izumi.

“Hey there munchkin, how are you? Did you have a good time with gramma today?”

“Mmhmm! I gotta new coloring book and she let me watch the hero shows!”

“That’s terrific sweetie, and guess what, I’m back home with heroes too! And one even has a new toy for you!”

“Ooo! Ooo! Please Mommy, can I meet them?”

“Hehe, they’re right here sweetie.”

The kitten tilted her head back from where she was snuggled into the girl, revealing her full appearance to Aizawa and Nedzu. She was small, even for her age, most likely due to her quirk. Her face was round and puffy like Izumi’s, although with sharp golden eyes. Her hair was short and curly like her mom, but it was a mix of colors. Aizawa would describe it akin to a calico pattern, though instead of orange and white with accents of black, it was blonde and ivy with black accents. She had the traits of a cat as well, with a multicolored tail, and two big cat ears on the top of her head, one gold and one viridian. She smiled at the two heroes, revealing her fangs.

“OH! I know these ones I think!”

“Oh? Who are they baby?”

“Dat one’s Erazure. His eyes go glowy and the bad guys can’t fight anymore!”

She pointed at Aizawa who gave the girl a soft smile.

“That’s right Hana! That’s Eraserhead, he can erase quirks of bad guys. You’re so smart!”

Izumi pet the hair of the girl, who nuzzled into her hand and purred softly.

“Now, whose that one?”

“That’s Nezu! He’s really smart!”

“Right you are my dear! And here is your prize for guessing correctly!”

Nedzu slid down Aizawa’s scarf like a slide to Hana’s side and presented her with the plushie.

“Ooooooooooo YAY! I love plushies! Thank you!!!”

She fell out of Izumi’s grasp and snuggled with the stuffed animal, rubbing her cheek against it.

“Adorable…”

Aizawa muttered under his breath.

“Oh honey! Come join me in the dining room, I have lunch prepared for our guests!”

Following lunch, the group sat in the Midoriya’s living room, Aizawa and Nedzu on a recliner opposite Inko and Izumi on a small couch. Hana sat on Izumi’s lap, playing with a limited edition “All Moth” figure and a Godzillo figure from the All Might x Toho Collection.

“So Mrs. Midoriya-”

“Miss Midoriya, Shouta.”

Izumi raised an eyebrow at her mom, but did not interrupt. Ever since Hisashi left, the two never really spoke on the matter. Izumi knew they were separated, but it was uncommon for her mother to correct anyone on the matter.

“Ah my apologies. Miss Midoriya, I must truly thank you for having us for lunch.”

Shouta bowed, which the woman returned in kind.

“It is no problem at all, thank you for helping my little Izumi be a hero.”

Inko fussed with Izumi’s hair lovingly as the girl blushed.

“Mom…”

“Nomatter how big you and Hana get, you’re both gonna be my little girl’s forever.”

Aizawa smiled at the sight of the girls, but cleared his throat to get the attention of them.

“Given the unfortunate circumstances that have surrounded UA in this year, we were going to implement a mandatory dorm for the student body.”

Inko’s face dropped.

“Oh… is that so?”

“Yes, Izumi came to me earlier in the day after the announcement saying given her circumstances, she may have to withdraw from the course.”

Tears threatened to fall from the mother’s eyes as she listened to Izumi’s teacher.

“I don’t want Hana to grow up without a mom in her life. I wanna be there for her. It’s tough enough that her other parent isn’t in the picture.”

Izumi pat the girl’s head, oblivious to the boring grown up talk around her.

“However! There is another option!”

Nedzu excitedly hopped out of Aizawa’s scarf, grabbing a stack of paperwork.

“See, you are not the only member of UA’s body that requires childcare and support, and we have daycare services available. In addition we also are in need of a dorm caretaker for 1A as our existing staff cannot always be on hand due to their status as heroes.”

Gears started turning in Inko’s head.

“Do you mean?…”

“Yes! I am proposing we at UA provide you with a position of a dorm caretaker, as well as providing you, Izumi, and young Hana with an apartment on campus.”

Inko looked through the documents.

“T-this is more than double what I make already! And- are these apartment schematics? It’s like three times ours’ size!”

“Yes indeed. And if you take the offer, it can be all yours!”

“What’s the catch?”

Izumi asked. Aizawa smirked. The girl was already catching onto the Rat’s diabolical plans.

“Oh no need to worry. It is simply a contract for both you and your mother’s continued efforts at UA, with Inko becoming the dorm caretaker, and you eventually becoming a teacher. And I would personally teach you in order to get your teaching license.”

Izumi looked down at the girl in her lap.

“Hana, love, would you wanna move to UA?”

“OO! Do I getta meet your friends and other heroes?”

“Yes of course!”

“YAY! I wanna go to UA!”

Hana’s tail swished back and forth in excitement, absentmindedly tickling Izumi’s nose. Aizawa stifled back a snort at the sight.

“I suppose it is settled then.”

Inko nodded her head.

“Terrific. I can begin the process of packing and moving your belongings to your new lodgings tomorrow.”

Inko shot up in surprise, eyes wide.

“Tomorrow?”

“Why yes, Cementoss needs the additional hours of course.”

“Ooo! Cementoss is a funny hero! He can make a bunch of blocks! Mommy can we play the block game again tonight?”

Hana looked excitedly up at Izumi.

“Of course honey. We can do that before we pack up okay?”

“Yay!”

Both Aizawa and Nedzu left the house, with a small smile just barely grazing the stoic underground hero’s lips. As they returned to UA, Nedzu lept off of the man to go back to his office and to instruct Cementoss of the new plans. Shouta strolled to the break room, ignoring Nemuri and Vlad and walking directly up to Hizashi.

“So. How you feel about kids?”

Aizawa knew the other coworkers would devolve into chaos. He promptly kissed his husband and left the room.

“Zashi’s problem now.”

Izumi tucked Hana into bed early tonight. She had zoomies earlier in the afternoon and tuckered herself out. Izumi sung the girl a lullaby before kissing her forehead and letting her sleep. She walked out into the living room where she and Inko were still in the process of packing.

“So Izumi… what are you gonna say to your friends?”

Izumi looked off to the side, took a deep breath and looked back at her mom.

“I’ll just say the truth. Hana is my world, and if they don’t accept her… Well, I guess they aren’t my friends. I’m not… super concerned. Just… Just with Ocha and Tsu.”

Izumi sat for a moment, head in her hands.

“Of course. The first time in four years that I see her mother, and it’s in the middle of her attacking Ochaco and Tsu at camp…”

Izumi folded a familiar tan cardigan as she continued packing away her clothes.

“Himiko… What in the world happened to you?”

Chapter Text

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Yo nerd. Auntie and Hana are good, yeah?

Bunny Deku: Yeah everything is okay! I don’t know why Aizawa called it a family emergency >//<

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Probably because the hobo is a dick and wanted to cause chaos.

Bunny Deku: Hey be nice! Sensei is nice to me!

Queen Explosion Dynamight: You say this because your dad walked out on you and you imprinted on him like a lost duckling.

Bunny Deku: Rude.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: But accurate.

Bunny Deku: Not wrong, but still rude.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: He made me worry about my auntie and my niece, he’s a dickbag.

Bunny Deku: Noooooooo :<

Queen Explosion Dynamight: So what actually happened nerd?

Bunny Deku: I said I might need to drop out since I had a daughter and I didn’t think I’d be able to take her to the dorms and sensei and Nedzu went “no.” and gave my mom a job as the dorm mom and is giving our family a whole place on campus.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Good. Auntie deserves better than that supermarket. And you deserve better than to be stuck with the goddamn gooners in the dorms.

Bunny Deku: Plus you get to see momma and Hana more often!

Queen Explosion Dynamight: FUCK YEAH! Maybe I can finally get auntie’s yakisoba recipe.

Bunny Deku: You do realize you have to stop swearing around Hana right?

Queen Explosion Dynamight: FUCK

Queen Explosion Dynamight: She can handle it

Bunny Deku: She is four Kacchan.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: I started swearing at four, she’s ready.

Bunny Deku: Momma and Auntie would be upset if Hana started swearing though.

Bunny Deku: She’s still a small kitten.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Fiiiiiiiiiine. But because of Auntie, not because of you >:/

Bunny Deku: So Kacchan by the way.

Bunny Deku: “Queen” Explosion Dynamight?

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Shit right.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Ignore that.

Bunny Deku: Are you hiding your identity?

Queen Explosion Dynamight: No you fuckin nerd.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Fine I’m trans. Now shut up.

Bunny Deku: Oke! I support you nomatter what :3

Queen Explosion Dynamight: No shit. You’re my sister. Of course you’ll support me.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Now get the fuck on Fortnite I need to grind the rest of the season.

Bunny Deku: Kacchan the season ends in like 8 hours.

Queen Explosion Dynamight: Do not care. Get on.

Shouta strolled into the classroom exactly on time as usual, where the class was in a small amount of chaos.

“Izumi should be striving to be here on time! As heroes we cannot afford to waste any time!”

Tenya was animatedly chopping his arms, but despite his protests, Shouta could tell the boy was still worried about his friend, but he was playing up to his Class Rep role. Mina was biting her nails.

“Sensei said there was a family emergency, I hope she’s okay…”

Tsuyu, Fumikage and Dark Shadow all nodded along with her.

“Kero. She may just be with family at this moment.”

“The darkness in my life returns as the light of a thousand stars drifts away.”

“I miss her too Fumi.”

Dark Shadow pet Fumikage on the head.

“Birds can pet birds, this is incredible.”

Denki stared in amazement. Dark Shadow giggled and Fumikage just huffed, embarrassed. Meanwhile Katsumi just looked at Shouta with a slight scowl, for making them worry about their family. Shouta smirked back, and waited for anyone else to notice him.

Hitoshi was fully asleep at his desk. Allegedly. Shouta noticed the boy was actually laying with his head down, just listening to the class and observing them all, just like he did. Of course Shouta noticed that his definitely-not-daughter was cared for by a lot of 1A but… even Hitoshi?

“No- wait- actually, that’s not surprising. I married Hizashi. Brooding and sunshine. This is pretty much just like that again.”

“Perhaps the Sensei we saw take her out of class yesterday was a villain in disguise to kidnap Izumi.”

Shoto pondered for a moment. Aizawa chose at that moment to make his presence known to the class.

“Todoroki, I am not a villain, Midoriya is currently moving into her dormitory on campus as we speak and is excused from classes.”

“Wait. Why is she already moving in?”

Momo raised her hand and questioned, giving a distraction for the others to get to their seats before Aizawa punished them.

“Midoriya had a concern about the housing situation and as we discussed with her, we were able to move forward in the process for them to move in. Unless you all have any concerns, the rest of your guardians will be visited by me and another member of staff to discuss later today.”

Denki basically bolted upright.

“Wait so move in is like- immediate immediate?!”

“Yes Kaminari. For the safety of all UA students we ideally want it to be done as quickly as possible. I recommend you all begin packing when you get home.”

Katsumi scoffed at the class, having packed her shit up yesterday at the nerd’s recommendation.

“She’s a damn nerd, but nerds are damn smart.”

Then Katsumi had another thought.

“Ay- Sensei, are the dorms separated by gender?”

“For the most part, yes. Some exceptions need to be made of course.”

Not only did Midoriya and her family having their own apartment on campus come to mind, but the fact Fumikage and Dark Shadow would be sharing a room as well.

“Damn. Meeting with the principal after this for sure. Dumbass body fucking me over.”

“I’m surprised it wasn’t Chargedolt asking that.”

Kyouka snickered at her desk. Kaminari slumped down in his seat.

“Hey I respect women, I wouldn’t do that shit.”

“Can you all go and annoy Mic? You’re gonna be late for class.”

Katsumi nonchalantly slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out of class, heading away from English class and walked out the exit of the school building to go to the offices to speak to Nedzu. A few students noticed Katsumi’s leaving in the opposite direction and followed after her.

“Yo Kats, where you headin’?”

Kaminari called out to them.

“Nowhere shithead, go to class!”

Katsumi’s eyes widened when she saw something orange on the ground.

“Shit.”

The blonde girl rushed over to the spot, noticing a small orange dragon plushie laying out.

“Oh goddammit.”

Katsumi and Izumi were wandering through the mall, Izumi pushing Hana along in a stroller. Suddenly the girl started crying out, pointing at a store.

The pair went up to the store window, and noticed what the young kitten was pointing out. A bunch of plushies were on display, and the girl was begging to go get them.

“She has been a good girl today Kacchan.”

“You spoil her too much you nerd.”

“Look at her, would you not?”

Izumi picked the girl up out of the stroller, holding her up by the armpits. Hana just smiled and waved at Katsumi.

“Of course I fu- definitely would.”

The girl caught her colorful vocabulary before Izumi could scold her.

The pair of the two girls went into the toy store, where Hana pointed out two plushies.

“Oo! Oo! Can I have the green bunny? It’s like mommy! Oh! Wait! That orange one! What's that?”

Izumi grabbed the green bunny for the girl to hold, and Katsumi snatched up the orange plush to show to Hana.

“Oh this? This one’s a dragon. They’re big and tough and breathe fire.”

Katsumi presented the kitten with the plush whose eyes sparkled. Izumi was beaming at Katsumi who chose to ignore it. She hated when the nerd said she was good at talking to kids. Of course she was! She needs to be a hero dammit!

“Oh! It’s like Auntie Kacchan!”

She grabbed it out of Katsumi’s hands and snuggled both it and the bunny plushie together.

“It’s orange and fiery! Just like you!”

Izumi was squealing at how cute her daughter was, and Katsumi was blushing and grumbling.

“Stupid cute nerdling…”

Katsumi pet the girl’s head.

“Yeah kiddo. Just like me.”

“Momma! Can I get both?”

“I dunno baby, what’s the magic word?”

Izumi smiled at Hana, who despite being a cat was giving the world’s best puppy dog eyes.

“Pwetty Pwease?”

“That’s right! Good girl!”

Izumi pet behind the girl’s ear who let out a high pitched murmury purr in response.

“Nerd you need to teach her how to pronounce things properly.”

“Kacchan she has fangs, she’s always gonna have a bit of a lisp.”

“Oh. Right.”

Izumi and Katsumi bought the plushies for Hana and continued shopping. Hana insisted on getting ice cream, and of course, both of the girls could not resist the girl’s adorable pout at being told no, so they came home with ice cream and a milkshake for the kitten.

“Oh goddammit.”

Katsumi picked up the plush and started running over to the dorms being constructed to get the doll back to it’s owner. She did not realize that several of her classmates were following her for this.

“Thanks for helping us move in, Mirio!”

Izumi was carrying two boxes whilst Mirio carried three stacked on eachother. Inko was already inside the apartment, letting Hana rest since it would normally be naptime.

“It’s no problem at all! After training alongside for a year, we’re pretty much family!”

“Yeah, well, as long as you don’t go after my mom that sounds good!”

Izumi and Mirio both laughed. The two had met over a year prior, after All Might agreed to help train Izumi, taking her on as another student alongside Mirio. The two had trained tirelessly alongside Torino and Nighteye before Izumi went to try out for UA. The two had become fast friends due to training, with Izumi actively helping him develop his quirk.

“Huh so your body keeps breaking when you use your quirk? That’s strange.”

“Yeah. I’m not fully sure why. I know it’s using a lot of energy but every time I try it just breaks my bones.”

“Have you tried limiting the power by spreading it throughout your whole body instead of focusing on one point? Maybe that would help?”

“Wow. Hearing it from you it sounds obvious now.”

“Hey, it helps to get an outside perspective. I wouldn’t think of it if I had a quirk and it suddenly got supercharged, y’know?”

“Heh. Maybe so.”

She still wondered how exactly Mirio’s Permeation became an energy enhancing quirk, but she chose to put that on the back of her mind. When she wasn’t busy she’d theorize on it, reading more quirk science papers.

As Izumi and Mirio brought in the final boxes, Mirio called Nejire to come and meet Hana.

“She’s probably the most excitable person I know other than Mina, so this is a good test for how well she’ll do meeting the rest of 1A.”

“Heh, yeah. Nejire is excitable but sweet.”

“She’s like a puppy.”

“Oh jeez, do you think that’ll cause an issue for Hana?”

“Nah, she met Nedzu yesterday and that was fine.”

Nejire essentially bursted down the door floating into the room.

“Baby? Where’s baby?!”

Nejire’s eyes locked onto Hana, sitting on Izumi’s lap with her Hawks plushie.

“OHMYGOSH-”

Nejire lept over to Izumi to pick up the girl.

“Ohmygosh look at how cute you areeeeeee!”

Nejire snuggled Hana close, which left the kitten a giggly mess.

“Neji that ticklesssss~”

“Oh my gosh she’s so cute, I could just eat her up- oh my goshhhhh Izumi why did you hide this precious kitty from me for so long?”

Nejire kissed the girls forehead and snuggled her and the girl purred in delight.

“Hihi Neji! I’m Hana Midowiya! Momma says you’re Uncle Mi’s friend!”

“Yeah! I’m Nejire Hado! It’s so nice to meet you! You’re the sweetest ever!”

Nejire picked the girl up and floated off the ground.

“Look, you can fly now!”

“Heheheh- auntie Nejiiiiii”

The girl’s spiral energy tickled the girl, who was still excited to be floating. Nejire floated across the room, making airplane noises as Hana just giggled happily along.

Izumi smiled. Hopefully everyone else loved Hana as much as Nejire did.

Yesterday

“Shoutaaaaaaaaaaa! I canNOT believe youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”

Hizashi was throwing a tantrum as he and Shouta climbed into their car to drive back to their apartment.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

The man hid a smirk beneath his scarf as his husband clutched over his heart and deflated.

“I cannot believe you! Asking about kids in front of our coworkers!?!? Where did that even come from!?!? Nem and Vlad have been hounding me all dayyyyyyyy. Nem thinks one of us is pregnant, Sho! Pregnant! Could you imagine the horror I’d face if Todoroki heard any of this? He’s enough of a problem child as is!”

Aizawa silently sipped coffee out of his thermos as Hizashi went through his shakespearean rant.

“No no. The problem child is Midoriya. Todoroki just amplifies it.”

“Not for me, Sho! Todoroki already thinks that Midoriya is your kid! Imagine how messy it’d be if he found out we were together Shouta! The conspiracies would get even worse! He has a cork board for finding Midoriya’s “real” parents, Shouta! A cork board! WITH RED YARN!”

Aizawa hummed softly as he drove them down the quickest route home.

“Apparently Izumi has already adopted me as her new father figure, so it doesn’t really matter.”

“SHOUTA WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?! SHE HAS PARENTS SHOUTA!”

“Her mom is single.”

“SHOUTA!”

Aizawa couldn't help himself and actually laughed at the state of his partner. He quickly kissed his cheek before turning his attention back to the empty road.

“I don’t see the problem. We invite Nem all the ti-”

“THIS IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT SHOUTA!”

Aizawa snorted and smirked at his husband.

“In what way is this different?”

Aizawa playfully raised an eyebrow and deadpanned, knowingly teasing. Hizashi drug his hands over his face exasperated.

“Ughhhhhhh… Why even do this man? Where did any of this come from?”

“You’ll probably find out tomorrow.”

“WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?!?”

“You’ll see.”

“SHOUTA I SWEAR IF YOU ARE ACTUALLY PREGNANT-”

“I’m not.”

“THEN WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOD IS GOING ON?”

“Not my story to tell.”

Hizashi pulled off his jacket and screamed into the crumpled up ball of fabric. Aizawa just snorted.

“Actually maybe we should set up Nem with Miss Midoriya. She’s always moping that she needs to settle down.”

“Shouta. Shouta. Honey. Love. Darling. Light of my life. Kitten. Snugglebug. There is something WRONG with you.”

“You married me. I think that proves there's something more messed up with you.”

Aizawa pulled into their driveway.

“How would Nem even meet the listener’s mom anyway?”

“Oh. Shit. She’s helping the Midoriyas move into UA tomorrow. She’s gonna be livid at me.”

“WHY?”

Aizawa just smirked as he pulled out his keys and entered their home.

“You’ll find out when you hear Nemuri screaming from across town tomorrow morning.”

Today

Weeks prior, when going to the break room to ask Sensei for help on an assignment, Izumi had accidentally overheard Present Mic refer to Midnight as a “screamer”. While in the moment she blushed and ran away, to simply go as Momo for help instead, she was now face to face with Ms. Kayama, who was currently threatening to blow her eardrums out.

“GREEN BEAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN! LOOK AT HER! LOOK AT HERRRRRRRR!”

Nemuri, clad in civilian clothes (Inko and Izumi’s prayed thanking the Lord above for not scarring Hana) was currently holding up Hana by her armpits, who was giggling and kicking her feet in excitement.

“Look at her! Look at her! She’s perfect! The very definition of adorable! She’s so small! She’s so cute! She has toe beansssssssssssssssssssss!”

Nemuri raised up one of Hana’s little hands, her mutation giving her just four fingers, little squishy pads on her fingertips, and little sharp nails like claws. The girl laughed when Nemuri booped her pads.

“Grammy Nemmy that ticklesssssss!”

In that moment Midnight’s heart exploded from sweetness. She decided then and there that this kitten is family now. She squealed out in delight and hugged the girl tight. Inko on the other hand was blushing red. Anyone would be attracted to the most risque pro hero on the planet, and Inko had just witnessed that hero play so sweetly and lovingly with her grandchild. And that grandchild had just claimed that hero as her new grandma.

“Awww- you’re ticklish? Uh oh- the tickle monster’s coming!”

Nemuri tickled the girl’s sides who turned to a puddle of laughs. Izumi was smiling brightly. She had been so worried when she found out that the staff and students at UA would all eventually hear about Hana, but if Midnight sensei’s reaction was something to go off of, then her fears were completely unfounded.

“So Miss Kayama, my sweet flower has decided you’re her other grandma now- so, when you taking me out for dinner?~”

Inko batted her eyes at Nemuri, still holding onto Hana, who promptly turned red at the statement. It took a moment before she composed herself, smirking.

“Oh my~ already wanna head out on a date? You just moved in here to be safe after all, you sure you don’t need to settle?”

“Oh- I believe a big strong pro hero can keep me safe while I’m away~”

“Ah nope. Found out what I need to fear. My mom and Midnight. Ah well. It’ll be nice having two parents at least.”

“OH! OH! Gramma Nemmy’s a hero too?”

Hana’s tail swished in excitement as the girl beamed out a fanged smile at Inko and Nemuri. The women were slightly panicking and sweating at that thought.

“Yup! She sure is pumpkin! She was a Pro Hero named Dawnbreak, if you wanna, I can go show you some old footage of her!”

Izumi cut into the tension, and Hana jumped into her mommy’s arms to go see heroes.

“YAY! Heroes! Can I get an autogwaph? Aw but I don’t have anything to sign…”

The girl pouted slightly, her ears and tail drooping down.

“Hana, I’ll get you a nice print of Dawnbreak for Gramma to sign okay?”

“YAY!!!”

The girl immediately shot back up to happy, tail resuming it's quick and excited swish swish swish.

“Let’s let gramma Nemmy and gramma Inky have their fun, I’ll show you Dawnbreak and some hero movies and she’ll sign a poster for you when she gets back, okay?”

“Yay!!! Bye bye gramma Inky! Bye bye gramma Nemmy!”

The girl flashed a fanged smile as Izumi picked her up and carried her into Izumi’s room.

“... Dawnbreak?”

“Wow. I haven’t been Dawnbreak since I graduated. Girl knows her heroes.”

“Is that costume appropriate?”

“Of course! You think UA would let me run around like Midnight all the time?”

Nemuri pulled up an old photo of her Dawnbreak identity. She still had her signature crimson domino mask, but her risque purple corset and cream bodysuit were replaced with a dress themed around a sunrise, full of oranges and pinks.

“... Do you think that costume still fits?”

“I can squeeze into it if you want dear~”

Nemuri and Inko were just making their way out of the apartment where they were greeted by a rather exhausted looking Katsumi panting, head down, hands on her knees.

“Oh Katsumi! It’s been so long honey! How’s my favorite niece?”

“Good… pant … Good Auntie… Nerd… dropped doll… ran here…”

Katsumi presented the orange dragon plush to Inko.

“Thanks honey! Hana would be so sad if she lost her lil Kacchan doll!”

Inko wrapped Katsumi in a hug.

“We’ll give this to her right away, thank you!”

“We’ll?”

Katsumi looked up at the doorway for the first time and saw Midnight.

“The fuck you doing here sensei?”

“Hopefully Ms. Midoriya. Now thank you, you should be in class however.”

Midnight quickly grabbed the plush, and delivered it to Izumi who yelled a “THANK YOU KACCHAN” from across the apartment.

“HUH?”

“Go to class, Bakugo. And not a word.”

Katsumi booked it out of the apartment building, running into a bewildered Shoto.

“... Bakugo you are quite close with Midoriya, yes?”

“We’re practically siblings, Icyhot.”

“Would you happen to know who Midoriya’s father is? Aizawa and All Might keep denying it.”

Katsumi looked up at the dorms for a moment.

“... Midnight, I think.”

Todoroki’s eyes opened wide, and a feral grin graced his lips.

“I never even considered the possibilities.”

Todoroki opened his bag, pulling out a new notebook and pen.

“Of course. I was assuming it had to be a man, but that does not need to be the case. Izumi can obviously have two mothers-”

Katsumi grabbed Shoto by the scruff of the neck like a cat and dragged him all the way to english class, and literally tossed him into his seat where he was still writing in his journal like a maniac. Present Mic slumped into the fetal position upon seeing his problem child pull out a THIRD notebook on Midoriya’s potential parents.

“At least this is the most I’ll have to deal with today…”

His phone, on silent, however, was warning him of two future things he’d deal with: His best friend going out with Midoriya’s Mom, and pictures of a cat with blonde and green hair.

Chapter Text

Move in day went by quickly for the students of class 1A. Most only arrived at noon that day, so people were working into the evening to get themselves settled and acquainted with their living spaces. By the time the clock struck 7 pm, everyone was finally done putting their belongings into place. Everyone was relaxing in the common room (aside Izumi) as Kirishima finished his task and joined the class.

“Jeez. I’m absolutely beat man…”

Kirishima flopped onto the couch in the common room on top of Katsumi.

“OW- FU- SHOOT! KIRISHIMA WHAT THE HECK?!?!”

The class blanked at Katsumi.

“WHAT ARE YOU EXTRAS STARING AT?”

“Bakugirl, you’re not swearing?”

“You called Kirishima by his name?”

Katsumi cocked her head and then “tsk”ed in annoyance.

“If you’re gonna swear in the common room with our dorm mom you’re an idiot.”

Tsuyu cocked her head to the side.

“Dorm Mom? Kero?”

“Y’all don’t know? We’ve got someone watching over our dorms, helping us cook and clean and shi-shoot because some of y’all can’t take care of yourselves.”

Katsumi pushed Kirishima off of her and got up, heading to the kitchen.

“I’m gonna make dinner.”

“Someone who can make Katsumi too afraid to swear? They must be horrifying.”

Ochaco shuddered.

“We should be doing our best to not swear regardless, it is typically unbefitting of a hero, unless it is part of our image such as cases like Mirko and Midnight of course.”

Tenya voiced his thoughts aloud.

“I’m terrified. If Bakugo can be scared, what the hell are we up against?”

Kaminari shivered in his seat.

“Oh my, I hope I’m not interrupting anything.”

An unknown soft and kind voice called out to the group from the door. Both Aizawa and a short woman with green hair walked into the dorms.

“Well. They’re mostly down here, and Midoriya is already aware of the situation. I’ll let you introduce yourself.”

Aizawa stepped aside and the woman bowed to the class.

“Hello, I’m Miss Inko Midoriya, and I will be your dorm manager while you are here at UA. I’ll be here to cook and clean if need be, and if any of you are in need of any help at all, I am here for you any time. My personal room will be on the ground floor, just down the hall from the elevators if you need me, don’t feel shy to see me if you need anything, or just to say hi.”

Inko smiled brightly at the class.

“Oh! You’re Izumi’s mom?”
Ochaco lept to the woman’s side. The greenette giggled slightly at the girl’s enthusiasm.

“Yes dear, I am. I’m Katsumi’s aunt as well.”

“Hi Auntie!”

Katsumi called out from the kitchen.

“Hello Katsumi! Already starting on dinner?”

“Yeah! We probably need to help these nerds take care of themselves, you okay assisting me here?”

“That is no problem at all!”

Inko slid beside Katsumi in the kitchen, helping her prep enough food for twenty people.

“E-excuse me Miss Midoriya… are animals allowed in the dorms?”

Koda timidly approached Inko at the counter.

“As long as you are able to adequately care for them, and nobody has an allergy, it will be no issue at all Koda!”

The woman smiled, which Koda returned.

“That’s pretty good to know, I’ve been hearing a cat purring in the dorms off and on all day.”

Kyouka added, sprawled across a couch like she was dying of a headache in the 1800s. Inko took a sharp breath at that comment.

“There’s no cat in the dorm you idiots.”

“U-um Katsumi… I heard the cat too- but I couldn’t tell what it was saying…”

Koda spoke up again, and Katsumi scowled.

“Great. Day one and the dorms are haunted by a cat.”

Kaminari slumped to the floor.

“That’d be pretty cool. I’ll take care of the ghost kitty.”

Hitoshi sat sideways on a plush chair, reading a book, not even glancing up as he spoke.

“It’s probably just a stray though.”

“YO! Stop talking about fictional cats and get some food!”

Katsumi shouted as she let the stew simmer on a low heat.

“Should we go get Izumi kero?”

“Yeah! We haven’t seen her all day!”

Ochaco and Tsuyu jumped to the table to ask Inko.

“Don’t disturb her, she could be training or whatever nerd stuff she does.”

Katsumi grumbled. Inko scooped some of the stew into a large bowl and a second smaller bowl.

“Actually dears, Koda, Kyouka, could you bring these two bowls up to Izumi’s room? Perhaps you could see and find the cat if there is one.”

Katsumi shot Inko a look, with a furrowed brow. Inko just nodded. Katsumi resumed prepping bowls for people.

“Yeah that’s no problem Miss Midoriya.”

Kyouka spoke, grabbing one of the bowls. Koda simply nodded before taking the larger of the two servings and heading to the elevator with Kyouka.

Mina and Tooru scrambled to their seats at the dining table, beside Inko.

“Soooooo Mamadoriyaaaaaaaa~ any fun stories about Izumi?”

Mina batted her eyelashes at the woman who just laughed.

“Oh dear me. Well- there was the time that she and Katsumi-”

Kyouka and Koda got up to the top floor in silence.

“... I hear purring again…”

“Yeah you’re right- wait hold on I hear something-”

“You can sing a rainbow,

Sing a rainbow,

Sing a-long with me.

Red and yellow and pink and green.

Purple and orange and blue.

You can sing a rainbow,

Sing a rainbow,

Now you’ve sung one too!”

The voice grew louder as Koda and Kyouka made their way down the hall to Izumi’s apartment door. Koda timidly knocked before opening the door. Both Koda and Kyouka paused at the sight.

Izumi was cradling a small girl in a blanket, gently rocking her and singing her a lullaby. The kitten in her arms was purring out soft sighs of contentment. Izumi looked at the door for a moment, white as a sheet and stiff as a deer in headlights. She quickly put her “mom face” back on and raised a finger to her lips to signal “please be quiet”.

She got up from the couch, still holding the girl to herself, before retreating further into the apartment, laying down Hana for bed. She kissed the girl’s forehead and tucked her in. Kyouka’s heart was fluttering and Koda could barely hold in excited squeals at how cute the sight was. Izumi shut the door to her daughter’s room and signalled Koda and Kyouka to come in, sitting on the couch and patting the seats beside her. The two obliged and sat on the couch as well. The girl softly spoke out.

“So, I suppose several questions huh?”

“Yeah, no shit green.”

Izumi glared at the girl.

“Please do not swear around my daughter, Kacchan is bad enough as is.”

“Right, right, sorry.”

The girl winced. Koda’s eyes were sparkling.

“She’s adorable Izumi. How old is she?”

Izumi stared at a family picture on the wall fondly.

“She just turned four recently, 50 months.”

“So you’re…”

Kyouka tapped her fingers and her jacks together nervously.

“A mom?... Yeah… It wasn’t what I really expected, but my life has been all the better for it. Hana is the light of my life.”

Kyouka smiled at that.

“So you didn’t tell any of us because?”

Izumi let her head fall.

“Because I was afraid. Afraid of losing the closest friends I’d ever had. I know that I’m judged for it. I understand that every time I go out to get groceries with her. People can be… well, awful.”

Koda held onto the girl’s hand.

“We’ll never judge you for that Izumi. You seem like a good mom.”

Izumi smiled at Koda.

“Thank you. I do my best for her.”

“I get it Green. I really do. I can’t imagine being in your spot, but I’ll always support you, nomatter what.”

Kyouka hugged into Izumi’s side, leaving both girls with a small blush. Izumi cleared her throat.

“Hey, if Kacchan is making dinner, I can head down with you guys, I’ll keep Hana’s in the fridge for her when she wakes up tomorrow.”

Izumi took her own bowl from Koda and stood up.

“Good idea Green. Your fangirls are ravenous since they haven’t seen you for like, three days.”

Kyouka smirked. Izumi giggled at the thought of Tsu and Ochaco as fangirls, wearing Deku merch.

“Alright. Let's go. She’s a heavy sleeper.”

Lil Green: Hey mom. Kyo and Koda found the cat- any chance you could look over her while I go down to eat?

Mamadoriya: That’s no issue at all honeybun.

Notes:

So, fun fact, that is the lullaby my grandma used to sing me too.

Chapter Text

“Hana? Hana sweetie it’s time to wake up…”

The kitten stirred in her bed, clutching her blanket close before snuggling back in.

“Honeybun it’s morning, you gotta get up.”

Izumi sat on the bed and ran her fingers through Hana’s hair gently.

“Nyoooooo…”

The girl pouted and tried to bury herself deeper in the covers.

“Come on sunshine, if you get up, I’ll make your favorite.”

Hana blearily looked up at her mama, with wide kitty eyes.

“Pancakes?”

“Yes dear.”

Izumi kissed her daughter’s forehead.

“You ready to get up?”

Hana reached her arms out with grabby hands.

“Carry?”

Izumi chuckled.

“I spoil you.”

Izumi took the girl in her arms, stroking her hair softly.

“C’mon baby, let’s go eat.”

Izumi took on the difficult task of carrying her kitten out of her room, down the halls, and managing to press a button to summon the elevator.

“My little girl is growing up so big and strong. It’s getting harder to carry you, sprout.”

“Do you think I’ll be a big stwong hero like you someday Mama?”

Izumi smiled at the sleepy girl’s enthusiasm.

“Of course honey, you’ll be the best hero there ever was.”

Izumi leaned down and kissed the girl’s forehead.

Izumi put on a pot of coffee and began preparing breakfast. She hummed softly to herself as she cracked open some eggs for herself. As a hero she couldn’t indulge in sweet stuff as much, so extra protein it was. Hana pawed at the counter from Izumi’s side.

“Can I have dat?”

Izumi smiled and pat the girl on the head.

“Well honey, those are eggs, the last time you tried eggs you made a stink face and refused to eat the rest. Do you wanna try them again?”

The girl nodded her head with a swish of her tail.

“I wonder if her quirk ties in her nods with her tail swishes to emote more. She’d be borrowing body language from both humans and cats so it may make sense to have those wires cross over for simplicity.”

“Well how about this, I’ll give you one dippy egg and you can dip your pancakes in it and see if you like it, and if you do, I’ll share mine?”

“That sounds good!”

It didn’t take long for breakfast to be prepared, Izumi took after her own mother with making quality dishes. She served Hana a short stack of pancakes, with strawberry jam and sprinkles, with a sunny-side egg for her to dip her food in, as well as a good bit of bacon. Izumi poured herself a cup of coffee and gave Hana a glass of milk.

The dorms were still mostly quiet, she mentally laughed at the idea of her kid getting up earlier than a bunch of hero students, a soft smile on her face. She chose to appreciate the quiet, enjoying her breakfast next to her own personal sunshine.

“Ah Izumi! Good morning! You are up rather early!”

Izumi almost jumped at Tenya’s loud greeting. Hana on the other hand, was still a cat at heart, and did in fact jump at the boy’s welcome.

“Good morning Tenya, I think people are still sleeping so you may want to be a bit quieter.”

Izumi spoke softly while gently petting Hana’s tail to let her know everything was okay.

“Ah but we must be up bright and early for training!”

Izumi nodded her head.

“True, but remember, people still need days of rest too, that’s just as important as training so people don’t burn out.”

“You are correct! It was too hasty of me to assume everyone should be awake currently, my apologies.”

Tenya bowed.

“It’s all okay Tenya. Would you like me to make you anything for breakfast?”

“Not right now, I need to head out for my morning run, however I appreciate the offer!”

“Good mornyan mister!”

Tenya turned his head slightly away from Izumi, noticing Hana sitting there for the first time, waving at the boy. A small smile graced Tenya’s face.

“Ah! I see. I was wondering why you had concerns with housing on campus, but I see you were worried for your sister!”

Izumi tried to interject.

“That’s not-”

“You are a good role model Izumi, Tensei used to take me to UA as well when I was younger, it is always good to inspire the future generations. I apologize for not being able to introduce myself now, however I am meeting with some members of class 1b for my run today, so I cannot afford to be late. It is nice meeting you!”

Tenya bowed while backing out of the front door of the building. Izumi just looked at the door in confused silence. Hana generally did not care, too busy eating her breakfast, although she thought the robot man was pretty funny.

“... That boy isn’t the brightest knife in the crayon box, is he?”

Shouta practically crawled into the dorm common room.

“Sensei, I think you combined multiple sayings there.”

“I’m tired. And I’m not wrong am I?”

Izumi looked at the door again, still visualizing Tenya essentially moonwalking out of the dorms while bowing to her daughter.

“... There’s a few screws loose in his engine I think.”

Izumi got up from the table for a moment, pouring a cup of coffee for Aizawa.

“Here you go, hopefully this can wake you up some.”

“Thanks. We can only hope.”

Shouta sat at the table and sipped his coffee. His attention turned to Hana.

“Sprinkles and jam on pancakes?”

He raised an eyebrow.

“It’s really good!”

Hana tried to defend.

“Oh no, I’m just criticizing your mother for giving you that much sugar.”

Hana pouted slightly, but Izumi pet her ears with reassurance.

“Hana’s quirk makes her eat through energy faster, she needs a specific diet. Namely she needs a lot of sugar as well as meats, so she gets her sweet pancakes and bacon. She gets that from her other mother's side.”

Aizawa smiled softly.

“Well, I apologize for the criticism. I’m glad to know you’re taking her care seriously.”

Izumi just giggled.

“No need to criticize. The amount of sugar she needs is rather eye raising. There was one time when she was a baby kitten and managed to open the fridge and tried to eat an entire cake.”

Aizawa snorted as Hana playfully batted at Izumi.

“Mamaaaaaaa! That’s embarrassing!”

Izumi smiled and passed her teacher her phone.

“Look, mom took pictures.”

The typically stoic hero did his best to not burst out laughing at the sight of his problem child with her head in her hands as her daughter was covered head to toe in frosting.

“Well, she certainly has a sweet tooth.”

The man smiled, Izumi giggled and Hana pouted.

“Mom and I always joke that her fangs are secretly her sweet teeth.”

Hana was making a face of being irritated, but it came off cute instead of threatening. That face quickly fell to a soft contentment as Aizawa pet her head. Izumi didn’t miss the fondness on her teacher’s face as the girl purred for him.

“You really are a softie for kids aintcha sensei?”

Aizawa smirked.

“Don’t tell anyone, gotta keep up my image.”

Izumi gave a small nod.

“You and Mic thinking of ever having kids?”

Izumi twirled her hair absently as she asked.

“Maybe. We’d both like it, but as you know, it is a bit difficult. Plus, we’d like to adopt, since both of us used to be in the system.”

Izumi smiled at Aizawa’s soft expression.

“That’s really sweet. I’m sure you two will be great parents.”

“We’d try our best for sure. But I feel bad for the kid who's gotta put up with me and Zashi. But we need to look into it more. It’s not like the perfect kid is gonna run into our arms, yknow?“

“You never know Sho. You never know.”

At that moment, many miles away, a small girl with a horn and white hair was preparing an escape.

Momo and Kyouka came down a little after Aizawa had left to go to visit the station so he could begin his shift for the day. Izumi was supposed to join him in the afternoon, after the man had finished his paperwork and actually begun his patrol route. Izumi was sat at the kitchen table, doing her homework alongside Hana who now had her hero coloring book out. The next time Izumi saw Toy-Toy she’d have to recommend the tie-dye scheme that Hana was designing her.

“She would look even more like a stuffed animal.”

Kyouka was the first to come up to Hana, giving her a slight headpat and then a hug.

“Goodmorning kitten, how are you?”

Kyouka smiled wider than Izumi had seen up til now. Momo looked. Confused and conflicted.

“Hi! Who are you? Are you my other Mommy?”

Hana looked up the girl with a big fanged smile. Izumi and Kyouka turned red immediately.

“Wh-what? N-no. Sorry. I-Izumi is j-just my f-friend…”

Kyouka blushed a deep crimson, tapping her fingers and jacks together nervously.

“Yup. Totally don’t look like a lovestruck lesbian. No sir. Not at all!”

Izumi chose to come to the girl’s rescue.

“Hana, these are my friends, Kyouka and Momo. Kyouka, Momo, this is Hana.”

Hana waved at Momo, who shyly returned one of her own. Kyouka was doing everything in her power to not snuggle the kitty like a stuffed animal.

“She’s too cute!”

“Um, Kyo?”

Kyouka snapped out of it and saw she was, indeed, snuggling Hana like a stuffed animal. Hana didn’t seem to mind though, instead just giggling with her tail swishing with happiness.

“S-sorry.”

“Hehe- Kyo’s silly!”

Hana hugged Kyouka back, which made the girl’s heart burst from cuteness. Momo was still reeling a bit. Momo sat at the table across from Izumi.

“Um, Izumi… who is this?”

Izumi chewed the end of her pencil.

“Well, um. That is Hana, she’s my daughter.”

“O-OH!”

Momo paled.

“So that means-”

“Yes, yes it does.”

“Oh.”

Momo’s blush matched the same shade as Kirishima’s hair dye.

“So um. Who would her other parent be? I mean… she does have a similar hair color to Katsumi…”

Izumi stifled a snort.

“No no- gods no. Kacchan is family-  mom and Auntie Mitsuki are basically sisters.”

Momo let herself relax. Knowing it wasn’t someone she knew was a relief. Except…

“... Would we happen to know the other parent?”

Izumi looked solemnly into her coffee cup.

“Maybe. But… heck. I don’t even know if I knew her really…”

Izumi sadly reminisced, and thought of the day she met her love in an alley.

Chapter Text

Izumi did her best to keep away from the bullies from Aldera today. Even if Katsumi had gotten better over time, she still cast a silent indifference towards the ways her former lackeys treated Izumi. Not wanting to be threatened by claws nor winged talons today, Izumi ducked out of the classroom through a window, and escaped out of the schoolyard walls through an ill-used gate. She chose to walk home a long way today, less likely for anyone to spot her. Through dirty and decrepit alleys, oozing with filth and grime she trekked her way home, passing the time taking a few notes on All Might’s recent battle with the villain Stitched Giant.

She was shaken out of her mental ramblings by a loud, high pitched whine. Izumi raced down the alleys, trying to find the source of the noise. Two boys were harassing a girl with their quirks. Her blonde hair was matted, covered in dirt and dust. Her skin appeared to be bloodied from the little Izumi could see, as the girl was cowering and whimpering, curled into a ball. Izumi saw rage at the moment, the poor girl being abused just like she had been. Before she could even think, her body moved on it’s own, swinging her bag at one of the bullies' heads. The boy dropped clean down, banging his head against a nearby dumpster. The other boy swung at Izumi with elongated claws, giving her a nasty slice across her cheek. Izumi hit the boy with her metal water bottle, to which the boy swore and ran, with the other one retreating immediately after.

Izumi crouched beside the girl, who flinched away from her. Izumi extended her hand out to the girl, palm raised upwards, the same way you’d approach a cat to show “I mean no harm”. The girl slowly looked up at her. Izumi’s eyes met the most gorgeous golden eyes she’d ever seen.

“Hey are you okay?”

“N-no…”

“Do you need any help? I have a first aid kit in my bag-”

Izumi opened her yellow knapsack and procured her small emergency kit. She offered the crying girl a few tissues first, which the girl took hastily.

“What happened?”

“T-they h-h-hate me f-for my quirk… t-they think Imma monster…”

Izumi treated the girl’s bruises and cleaned up her cuts before placing some bandages over them.

“You’re not a monster. No quirk makes you a monster.”

The girl’s eyes widened for a moment before starting her tears again.

“H-hey it’s okay!”

Izumi hugged the girl, who sobbed into her.

“N-no it’s not… I am a monster…”

“No you aren’t. I promise.”

The girl looked into Izumi’s eyes with a grey dullness.

“I… I need to drink blood… I can’t live without it… I am a monster…”

Izumi felt the drips of blood trailing down her cheek from her cut.

“Hey… If you need blood… I am here-”

She tilted her face towards the girl, whose eyes opened wide, suddenly shining bright.

“R-really?”

“It’s not your fault you have to drink blood. I… I’m quirkless. So I understand being hurt for your quirk…”

Izumi shuffled closer to the girl, sitting beside her with her bloodied cheek to her.

“A-are you sure?”

Izumi looked at her with a smile.

“To keep you around? Of course! That’s what a hero would do!”

The girl smiled a small, fanged smile. A small smile that showed it wasn't used frequently. Izumi could relate to that feeling. The girl inched closer and licked the blood clean off of Izumi’s stinging wound. The pain from the cut ceased.

“T-thank you.”

“Any time. I wanna be a hero for people like us.”

Izumi and the other girl found eachother smiling.

“I’m Izumi Midoriya. What’s your name?”

“Himiko Toga.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Himiko! If you want ummm. You could come over?”

Izumi tapped her fingertips together with a small blush. Himiko pecked the girl on the cheek, right over her cut.

“Sure, let’s go!”

Himiko got her first home-cooked meal in years that day, talking freely and openly with Izumi and Inko. Himiko even was allowed by Izumi to have a few bites of blood that night she stayed over. After that day, Himiko and Izumi met up nearly every day for a year. It was a quiet afternoon after an unplanned hospital visit, Izumi was going to tell Himiko about her expecting.

But Himiko never came home.

Small teardrops splashed into the open mug of coffee on the table.

“-zumi? Izumi?”

Izumi looked up and realized Momo was creating a handkerchief to wipe her tears away.

“O-oh… sorry Momo. I- I sorta… I sorta spaced out…”

“Izumi… hun. Are you sure you’re okay? I- I didn’t mean to offend by my reaction… I just wasn’t expecting…”

Izumi shook her head as the rich girl trailed off with muttered apologies.

“No no… It’s not your fault… I just miss Hana’s mom.”

Izumi watched Kyouka across the room, braiding Hana’s hair as they watched TV together. She smiled at the sight. A softer, sadder smile filled her lips.

“... She never met Hana. One day she just… vanished.”

Momo got up from her side of the table to hug the girl softly.

“Hey. It’s okay. I’m sorry Izumi.”

“It’s fine… I just wish… I wish she got to see how amazing Hana really is. Her first steps, her first words… I miss her. I know she’ll just be seen as a teenage fling but… I loved her.”

Izumi’s eyes threatened to burst out more tears. Momo did her best to dry her eyes as she hugged tighter.

“Izumi. It doesn’t matter what other people think. You were in love with her. No matter the duration of time you were together, you truly and genuinely cared for her. I can tell. You’re the kindest person I know, and I know you care deeply for all of your friends here. And even without her here, I know Hana has been loved so much by you to more than fill the absence. And now, I’ll be here for you guys too, and so will Kyo, I’m sure.”

Izumi returned the hug.

“Thank you.”

Izumi and Momo joined Kyouka and Hana on the couch, where they spent their morning watching TV and playing with dolls with Hana. If Momo used her quirk to make more toys for Hana, well, she’d call that a necessary thing to do.

Izumi could just watch over the two girls playing with Hana and smile.

“With them around, she’s gonna be just fine.”

Hana returned to her room for a nap, while Izumi remained downstairs to talk to her friends. Tenya was just coming back in from his run when he went right up to Izumi.

“Oh! Izumi, I was hoping I could speak to you privately in a moment. I will simply shower first if that is alright with you!”

Izumi nodded and gave a thumbs up.

“If you want, we can talk in my room when you’re ready!”

Izumi smiled at the boy, a slight shake to her smile, prepping to tell the boy that, actually, Hana is her daughter, not her sister.

It did not take long for Tenya to be knocking at Izumi’s door. Izumi let the boy into her dorm and motioned him to sit down at the couch for tea.

“Ah, thank you Izumi, you’re too kind!”

Izumi nervously sipped her drink.

“So Tenya, what is it you want to talk about?”

Tenya gave a soft smile and hunched forward in his seat.

“See- I may not be in a similar place to you, but I’ve been in a similar situation.”

The boy pulled out his phone and passed it to Izumi. On the screen there was a photo of a young Tenya and an older boy who was the spitting image of Tenya himself.

“That’s Tensei. My… big brother. See- I… I know you probably assumed that I was mistaken but- I know that girl is your daughter. Well- I’m… similar to her in that regard…”

“Hana?”

“A lovely name, I can tell you chose it. My big brother is well, he is actually my birth father. A very similar situation happened with me and him as it happened to you and Hana. Tensei would take me to UA with him so that we still had a chance to bond while he was away. I wanted to see if you would prefer me to refer to Hana as your sister to hide the truth like what Tensei did…”

Izumi got up from her seat across from Tenya to hug the boy.

“It’s okay… I was worried about people judging, but she’s my daughter. I’m proud of her and want her to be proud of her mama as well. I was just worried… I was just so worried about your reaction. I didn't wanna lose you.”

Izumi nestled into Tenya who stroked the girl’s hair softly.

“You don’t need to worry at all about me, Izumi. You’re my best friend, and I know how kind and caring you are. I could think of no better woman to be a mom. I could see from breakfast alone, you truly love and care about Hana.”

Izumi smiled up at her friend.

“I do. She’s my world.”

Tenya smiled down at his friend.

“And if you need help at any time, I can be Atlas and take the weight of the world off your shoulders. You know I’ll do anything to help my best friend.”

The two shared soft grins as they hugged. At that time Hana returned from her nap, adorned in Ms. Joke pajamas and clutching a small Ingenium plushie in one hand. She wiped one of her eyes tiredly.

“Oh! Momma! Is that my new Daddy?”

Izumi’s face flushed, and Tenya's crimson face sputtered as his engines puffed out smoke.

Shake Shake

“Hmmp?”

Izumi grumbled into her pillow.

“Mama?”

Hana was pulling Izumi’s bedsheets from beside the girl's bed to shake her awake.

“Mama wake up!”

Izumi yawned and sat up, turning to face Hana.

“Cuddlebug it’s 3am, is everything okay?”

The mom grabbed the girl under the arms and pulled her into her lap in bed, hugging her softly.

“I’m hungryyyyyyyy”

Yawn Okay baby. Do you need some milk?”

The girl nodded with a mmhmmp as confirmation. Izumi stretched her arms out above her head before picking up Hana, carrying her over her shoulder as she got out of bed. Izumi gently placed Hana down on the living room couch before she walked up to the fridge in their apartment.

“Oh sugar. I forgot to pick up milk.”

Izumi sat beside Hana and pet her head as the kitten sucked on her thumb.

“Bug, are you up for going downstairs to get some milk from the dorm fridge?”

The kitten tiredly nodded her head and yawned.

“Okay dear, now, it’s late so we need to be real quite, like a stealth hero okay?”

“Okay Mommy…”

“Good girl.”

Izumi patted the girl’s head, the kitten leaning into her palm for more scritches. The mom picked up the girl over her shoulder again, and headed out of her apartment into the elevator to the downstairs kitchen.

Izumi yawned and set Hana down on one of the couches in the living space. She didn’t want her to potentially fall off of a stool if she fell asleep, the kitten potentially spilling milk on one of the couches was far less of a concern. Izumi poured the girl a glass and heated it up, as well as making a small sandwich if the kitten needed more than just some nighttime milk. She sat beside her daughter on the couch and passed her the warm milk, which the girl hastily drank down. The kitten tore into the sandwich greedily, which caused Izumi to giggle a bit.

“My ferocious lil lion, feasting on her prey.”

Hana pouted a bit at Izumi’s joke, but Izumi just smiled and pet her, which quickly heightened her mood.

“The… what?...”

A voice from the hallway snapped Izumi out of her cute little moment with Hana.

“Toshi?”

A tired, Midnight-themed-pajama clad Hitoshi was rubbing at his eyes from the entranceway of the hall.

“Oh. Duh. The resident insomniac.”

“Zumi? Who?…”

The kitten woke up a bit at seeing one of Izumi’s friends, her tail swishing and ears twitching.

Yawn. I’m Hana Midoriya… Zumi’s my mama… nyaa.

The girl tiredly cozied up against Izumi. Izumi pat the seat beside Hana for Hitoshi to sit down at. He held up a single finger to say “one moment” before pouring himself some (presumably stale) coffee leftover from the previous day and then finding a seat on the couch.

“You’re up late Toshi.”

The purplette snorted.

“Yeah. Big surprise the insomniac is still up. I’d ask why you’re up but…”

Hitoshi gestured towards the now-sleeping kitten who had taken up residence on his lap. Izumi nervously giggled with a wince.

“Y-yeah… Hana was hungry and needed milk and we didn’t have any in our room.”

Hitoshi just nodded along and sipped his coffee. He pet the girl’s hair with his free hand, who let out a content purr at the touch. The tired boy smiled at the sight.

“C’mon Zumi. You know I love cats, and you’ve been keepin’ this kitty from me?”

“Y-you aren’t judging me?”

The boy just snorted as he rubbed the ears of the girl.

“Zumi, you’re actually staying with your kid. That alone makes you a more suited parent than my birth givers.”

Izumi frowned and cradled the boy’s face with one hand.

“Is everything okay Toshi?”

Hitoshi just sighed, but still leaned into the touch.

“Yeah. It’s all okay now. I was kinda living at UA to begin with this year. I’m a foster so…”

Izumi nodded.

“Well, you’re a great kid, and I’m sure anyone would be lucky to have you.”

Hitoshi let out an amused huff.

“You’re cute, but I don’t think I’d want you as a mom. Mommy on the other hand-”

Hitoshi joked and Izumi blushed as red as Kirishima’s offbrand hair dye. She put her finger to her lips with a shushing motion and pointed at Hana.

“Toshi! No joking like that with the baby here!”

She whisper-screamed to not wake the baby. Hitoshi just smirked.

“Oh? Who said I was joking?”

Hitoshi placed his cup of coffee down on the table to free his other hand, which he then promptly used to pet Izumi. Izumi was too embarrassed and flustered to respond with anything other than sputters.

“Cutie. Izumi… I don’t know how hard it is to have a kid. I really don’t. But as someone who went through the system, I’m so glad you stuck around for your kid. She seems like an angel already, but knowing you, you’d’ve stuck by her side if she was the antichrist.”

“Well- she is a cat.”

Izumi joked and Hitoshi smiled.

“You’ve been nothing but kind, you’re the first person to not see me as a villain because of my quirk, y’know? You actually care, and you wear your heart on your sleeve. I can tell you’re a great mom already. But if you ever need help, I’m here for you. I may not have had parents, but that just makes me wanna be a better one in the future.”

Izumi’s heart soared with Hitoshi’s words. She smiled and hugged him, which the boy returned without a second thought.

“You two should go and get some sleep now okay? Class starts again tomorrow.”

Izumi picked up the still-sleeping Hana from Hitoshi’s lap, who seemed a bit sad at the loss of the girl. Both Izumi and Hitoshi stood up, facing eachother.

“T-thank’s Toshi. I hope you can get some sleep tonight. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight Zumi, goodnight Hana. Thank you for everything. Sweet dreams.”

Hitoshi planted a kiss to Izumi’s forehead before stumbling back to his own room, where he promptly sank down against the door swearing at himself.

“Idiot idiot idiot- why did I do that- shit- she’s gonna hate me-”

Meanwhile, that night Izumi did exactly what Hitoshi wished. She had sweet dreams of her and Hana in their dream family home, with a purple haired boy by her side, along with a girl with soft blonde hair, and the cutest smile in the whole world.

Scratch Scratch Scratch

“???”

Scratch Scratch Scratch

Izumi looked at her alarm clock. 5am. Too late to go back to sleep, but still too early for class. She’d only managed another hour of sleep before being woken up again. She sighed softly to herself before getting out of bed. She’s lucky Hana sleeps so much, she had opportunities to nap when Hana was asleep.

Speaking of the devil, she was there, plopped in front of Izumi’s bedroom door with a satisfied look on her face, and a small black pigeon in her mouth.

“Wait- black pigeon?”

Izumi took another look at the shadowy bird in Hana’s mouth and groaned. The bird was a small and dazed looking Dark Shadow.

“Hana noooooooooooooo. Dark Shadow is friend not food.”

Izumi forced Hana to open her mouth and retrieved the poor dizzy bird from her lazy grip.

“Oh. Sowwy Mama!”

“Honey, you need to apologize to Dark Shadow and Fumi when they wake up, okay?”

Hana’s ears drooped.

“Yes mama…”

Izumi pat the girl’s head with one hand while her other arm had Dark Shadow nestled in it like a newborn baby. Izumi walked over to their fridge and got the poor girl a juicebox of apple juice.

“Here DS, I know you like apples…”

The shadowy bird quickly slurped down the juice box before reverting to her normal sized form.

“Woah! Sorry about the scare there Izu!”

“Nono, it’s not your fault DS, my kitten here just got too excited I think.”

Dark Shadow waved her arms and shook her head.

“Oh no no! I was just passing by and heard a kitten purring, and when I went to look, I saw the baby and she was so bright it weakened me back to a lil chick. She was just getting your help.”

Dark Shadow pet the kitten’s head.

“Oh! My apologies Hana, you did so good! My lil hero!”

Izumi pet the kitten as well who purred to accept the apology.

“So Shadow, this is my baby girl Hana, the light of my life, I apologize if she shines a bit bright for you.”

Izumi giggled and Dark Shadow returned it.

“It’s okay, she’s adorable, maybe being around her will help me adjust to being exposed to brightness.”

The two giggled as Hana lazily purred under their pets.

“Well, it’s too late to go back to bed, perhaps you’d like to stay with me and Hana until more people wake up?”
Dark Shadow excitedly nodded. Hana shot up with a swishing tail.

“Oh! I gotta idea!”

Hana jumped off the couch and pounced on all fours to her room, before retrieving a coloring book and pack of crayons.

“Can we color together Ms. Shadow? Please???”

Hana looked up at Dark Shadow with puppy (kitty) eyes, which was unnecessary, Dark Shadow was elated to join in the fun. Hana excitedly handed Dark Shadow a page from her hero coloring book of Hawks, where DS happily started doodling with crayons on top of it.

“Yayyyyyy!”

Shadow chirped happily as she colored in Keigo, although with purple hair and a black jacket.

“Fumi and I keep telling him he’d look stunning with a biker look with a leather jacket and dyed hair but he never does it.”

Izumi laughed.

“He would definitely look nice I’d say. Personally, I’m a big fan of Hana’s designs.”

Hana was currently recoloring All Might’s outfit to be purple and pink. Dark Shadow looked over puzzled before beaming out a smile.

“Oh my gosh! Is this why All Might had that orange and green costume during training before?”

Izumi laughed.

“All Might loves Hana like a granddaughter, I’m sure she’ll be designing more suits for him in the future. Don’t tell Shouto I said that though.”

Dark Shadow playfully saluted.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Izumi went to answer the door. Fumikage stood outside.

“Good morning Izumi, I noticed DS was not in our room and I followed her shadow and-”

Fumikage saw Dark Shadow and Hana coloring together in Izumi’s living room. Izumi blushed and shrugged. Fumikage nodded.

“Can I join?”

“Sure!”

Hana happily meowed out, handing Fumikage a sheet depicting Ectoplasm.

“Finally, my artistic shine will come to use.”

Izumi smiled as she grabbed a sheet for herself, coloring a Mt. Lady to be blues and greens to match the Earth.

“Your daughter is so bright Izumi.”

Hana purred at Fumikage’s praise.

“She sure is Fumi.”

Hana happily nuzzled against Fumi.

“Adorable.”

“Alright, Ectoplasm will be covering for me today. Shinso, Midoriya, grab your costumes and meet me outside in 20 minutes to begin our patrol.”

Aizawa left the classroom without another word. Izumi smiled. Interning with Aizawa had been the best choice she’d made. His skills at non-quirk reliant combat were second to none, making him the best possible teacher for the very quirkless Izumi. Hitoshi smiled, but only inwardly. Working with a man he had always looked up to was amazing, and working alongside Izumi… Well, he definitely liked that a lot. Even if it did result in teasing from classmates when he and Izumi both used the same combative techniques. He definitely didn’t blush at any of that. He definitely DEFINITELY did not enjoy every moment of their time together. Totally.

Their styles had both very closely mirrored Eraserhead, though over time the two found parts of their own identities within their movesets. Izumi’s first capture scarf was cut in half by a villain on patrol, and she resorted to using it wrapped around her hands in makeshift gauntlets, now flicking the steel fiber weave as an offensive attack. She received a second scarf of course, but the gauntlets were there to stay. The metal weave acted like brass knuckles, making her able to brawl hard when necessary. It allowed her to focus more on hard takedowns instead of pressure points and precision blows. Hitoshi on the other hand had taken up a tertiary support item, following his own scarf and vocal modulator. While Hitoshi considered a staff, it would be cumbersome for mobility, so he chose to focus on dual batons, giving him some extra punch to his arsenal. The students were prepared for anything.

Except of course, a child running into Izumi’s arms no less than ten minutes into their patrol.

“H-help…”

The girl burrowed her face into Izumi’s hero suit, clutching onto her like her life depended on it.

“Eri, dear… Don’t bother those poor heroes.”

A man skulked out of the shadows, adorned with a plague doctor mask.

“I’m so sorry for the interruption, my daughter is such a troublemaker, see, and she was simply running crying after I did not allow her to get a toy.”

Izumi steeled herself. She had already seen the faded scars along the girl’s arms beneath her bandaged form. She tapped Aizawa on the elbow twice.

“Use quirk. Engage.”

“I don’t think so. This girl is clearly displaying signs of abuse. At the very least, we need to take you and her in for questioning.”

The man furrowed his brow in annoyance, and lunged towards Izumi, hand extended. Aizawa’s eyes flashed red. Izumi crouched over Eri, shielding her with her body. Hitoshi rushed in, smacking the man with one of his batons, and turning on it’s taser feature. The man shook and fell to the floor, where Aizawa quickly cuffed his hands.

Reinforcements were called quickly. The man, Kai Chisaki, was the leader of the Shie Hassaikai organization, and was deemed to be abusive to Eri, as well as Trigger distribution. He was sent to Tartarus almost immediately.

As the police sped away, Aizawa cradled the girl.

“Eri, it’s okay dear. You’re safe now.”

The girl softly cried into his uniform. Aizawa gently stroked her hair.

“It’s okay, it’ll all be okay.”

Eri quickly became attached to the trio of heroes, especially Aizawa.

“He’s got red eyes like me!”

“Yes, we’ve got the same eyes, kitten.”

She strained out a smile at the man, acting softer than they had ever seen him before. Well- Izumi recognized the behavior from him interacting with Hana before. She smiled to herself. Shouta would make for a good dad.

“Oh! I have an idea!”

Izumi dragged Aizawa and Eri to her dorm room, where Hana was playing with Inko. Hana cocked her head to the side looking at Eri. She pounced her way over, before leaning in for headpats. Eri, on instinct, started gently patting Hana.

“Hewwo, I’m Hana Midoriya! Wanna play heroes with me and gramma?”

Hana looked at the girl with excited eyes and a fanged smile. Eri managed a small, but still meaningful smile.

“I’m… I’m Eri. Can I be a hero like Izumi?”

Izumi almost passed out from cuteness. Too sweet. Sugar overload. Hana lit up.

“Yeah! We can be heroes together, Eri!”

Hana gripped Eri’s hand and pulled her away to her room.

“I’ve got costumes and everything!”

As the girls stepped out of the room, Inko approached Aizawa and Izumi.

“So, Eri? Who is she?”

“Well- she’s sensei’s kid, and sensei said he considered me his daughter, so I think technically speaking she’s my sister?”

Izumi muttered out as Aizawa grumbled with a slight embarrassed blush.

“Oh my Shouta… already winning over my daughter? Well, I suppose you can join Nemuri and I on a date later-”

“Wait mom no-”

“Too late, I have another daughter now.”

“I’ll ask Hizashi…”

Aizawa started texting his husband.

Aizawa did his best to not openly smile with delight as he saw Hana and Eri dressed as Ragdoll and Mandalay. He failed, as shown by the teasing looks of Inko and Izumi.

“Can I take a picture? Shino and Tomoko would be delighted.”

Eri nodded and Hana excitedly exclaimed “Yeah!”

Shouta smiled as the girl’s played with eachother. Eri had just been rescued just a few hours prior, and now she was smiling again.

And for the first time in a long time, he realized he was too.

“Darn problem child.”

He nearly chuckled at the thought.

“Looks like Hizashi and I have more family.”

Hizashi, for his part, did his best NOT to scream down the teacher’s lounge with delight when he received a picture of his newly adopted daughter and Izumi’s daughter, now adorned in costumes of Eraserhead and Present Mic.

He did his best- however, Cementoss was now being paid overtime, as half the wall was missing and windows across campus shattered.

Notes:

Aizawa: Good news and more good news
Hizashi: oh no
Aizawa: We're going on a date with Nemuri and Midoriya's mom this friday.
Aizawa: Dress nicely
Hizashi: Sho... nice. but also what the fuck-
Aizawa: Oh we also have a kid now
Hizashi: oh. YAYYYYYYY!

Chapter 9

Notes:

Here it comes.

Chapter Text

The bartender smiled softly as he looked at his phone. His memories were hazy at best, but he could remember his password like the back of his hand. Kurogiri could only recall snippets of his time alongside Shouta and Hizashi, but he still felt the fondness of their time together. And they’d never kicked his ghost out of their old groupchat. He felt a twinge of sadness, not being married together with them, but there was not much he could do with a body made of smoke and a remote explosive quirk put into him by the Demon Lord of Japan.

A new picture was sent to the chat between the three by Shouta. It was a small girl, with white hair, red eyes and a horn. She was smiling in Aizawa’s lap, holding onto a Present Mic doll. Oboro Kurogiri smiled softly. Shouta and Zashi’s daughter. He wishes he were there to be another father in the girl’s life.

DING

A new notification knocks Kurogiri out of his musings. He winces at what he sees. Izumi Midoriya, the target of his boss, was pictured alongside the girl, as well as another girl… who Shouta referred to as Midoriya’s daughter.

The smoke monster sighed. The poor kitten was going to get caught in the crossfire if All For One had anything to say about it. He had to tell the man. He had too.

“Master… I do believe I have new information regarding one of our targets…”

Kurogiri attempted to keep himself monotone, to not let his turmoil show. Everyone in the bar looked intrigued at the man.

“Oh? Let us see what you mean Kurogiri…”

Master’s voice called out over the speaker in the room. Kurogiri projected the image onto the TV over the bar.

“That would be Izumi Midoriya’s daughter, my master…”

A cold laugh emanated from the speaker.

“Oh my… what a useful pawn…”

“No.”

Tomura’s eyes were filled with rage, the word spat out his mouth with disgust.

“No? Whatever do you mean Tomura? You will not disobey orders.”

The cold voice was condescending and threatening. Tomura didn’t flinch. He didn’t back down at all.

“Kidnapping a fucking child for your plans? That’s fucking disgusting. What are we? The Safety Commission?”

Dabi smirked at Tomura’s defiance of his mentor. After all, Dabi had some (a shit ton) of hatred for what the Safety Commission did to his precious Keigo.

“Tomura. This is non-negotionable. Midoriya is our largest enemy and-”

“...Zuzu’s… kid…”

Himiko’s silent cry cut through the elder villain’s monologue. She walked up to the tv and placed her hand on the screen.

“... Take me there.”

“Huh?”

Everyone was shocked.

Himiko had tears in her eyes as she turned to face them, pointing at Hana with one hand and revealing her fangs with a frown.

“She’s… she’s mine…”

Izumi was scribbling out her notes as Aizawa droned on about heroics laws and ethics. Did she or Aizawa fully follow these guidelines?

Totally.

Definitely did not actively patrol alongside vigilantes almost every shift.

Izumi definitely also did not have a former relationship with a current villain on the run.

BRRRRRRRRING-

Aizawa sighed and picked up the phone on his desk.

“Yes?...”

He raised a brow.

“What do you mean quirk awakening… doesn’t she have a cat quirk?”

Izumi’s eyes shot wide open.

“Wait… if they’re talking about Hana… having a quirk awakening… it must be… oh no .”

“Sensei is it-?”

“Problem Child, you and I are needed at the dorms- immediately.”

Izumi didn’t need to be asked twice, the two rushed out the door, Izumi literally launching herself from her seat, over her desk, not landing until she was already outside the door.

“IZUMI! PLEASE DO NOT RUN IN THE HALLS!”

Tenya called out and made chase. This, had the unfortunate effect of having the rest of the class follow Aizawa and Izumi’s sprint, running to catch up with Iida.

Aizawa was too preoccupied with the idea of the girl manifesting a dangerous quirk to focus on the people behind him. Hana was the priority. Izumi was the same, tunnel visioned on her specifically, nothing else mattered.

The group heard explosions as they neared closer and closer to the dorms.

“Katsumi’s here with us right?”

“No shit Pikachu, I’m right here.”

“Then who the hell is exploding our dorms?”

Izumi and Aizawa burst through the doors, where Inko was waiting, hair slightly singed and dirty.

“Oh thank goodness, I tried to calm her down but-”

“Where is she?”

Aizawa bluntly asked. Inko pointed to the corner of the room, where smoke was pooling and sobbing can be heard.

“I can’t- hic - I can’t turn it off!”

The group all turned to look at the source, a small child with cat features, and a calico pattern of green and blonde, with explosions firing from her fingertips.

Aizawa activated erasure to stop the misfire, and Izumi ran to the girl and hugged her close.

“It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m here, it’s okay.”

Izumi stroked the girl’s back and tried to keep her voice soft and comforting as her own tears formed.

“Mama… Mama I’m- hic- sowwy…”

“It’s okay, it’s not your fault, it’s all okay.”

“MAMA?!?!”

Was the collective thought of the class (at least those who weren’t aware).

Katsumi ran to her niece’s side.

“Hey, hey, c’mere, you’re okay, explosions are rough, I know too. It’s all okay.”

Katsumi embraced Hana and Izumi, petting the kitten’s hair softly.

“It was really similar when I got my quirk too, don’t worry.”

The class had never seen Katsumi act so… calm and caring. She was quiet and supportive… and showing physical affection.

The class was too stunlocked to move. Shoto was putting puzzle pieces together (mentally gluing pieces to fit to eachother-). Those who knew of Hana already were worried. After Izumi and Katsumi soothed Hana for five minutes, the sobbing ceased.

At that point, Hana poked her head out of the group hug and cocked her head at the other students. Her ears perked up and she smiled.

“Hewwo! Are you Mama’s friends?”

“MAMA?!?!”

Was the collective thought of the class once more.

“M-ma-ma-mama?”

Ochaco stuttered out, a blush on her face. Hana nodded and nuzzled into Izumi and Katsumi’s hug more.

“Mmhmm! I’m Hana Midowiya! Nyaice to meet you!”

Izumi winced and took a deep breath.

“Here it comes.”

“K-kero? With those explosions and that appearance…”

Tsuyu started asking.

“Iz-Izumi do you and Kats have a kid?!?!?”

Kaminari blurted out.

Katsumi flinched at the question, but looking at Izumi’s pained expression she was ready to take one for the team. After all, the nerd’s partner hadn’t shown her damn face in four years.

“No, no, Katsumi and Izumi are like sisters.”

Kyouka shook her head, interrupting Katsumi. Momo’s eyes lit up.

“OOOO! EVEN BETTER!”

Everyone chose to ignore Momo’s comment on the matter, she’d been reading too much fanfiction lately and it showed.

Complicating matters further, Hana reached for a bottle of milk that Inko had prepared for her earlier, and the item soared through the air into her palms.

“...”

“Nerd isn’t that Auntie Inko’s quirk?”

Katsumi asked dumbfounded.

“...Yes.”

Izumi was realizing in real time what her daughter’s quirk was.

“And she had my explosions.”

“Also yes.”

“WAIT! With those looks and mimicking quirks, is she Monoma’s?!?!?!”

Mina shouted.

“Nononononono- you’re all wrong it’s-”

A lightbulb lit up over Shoto’s head.

“Izumi… is this you and Himiko Toga’s secret love child?”

And then the chaos began.

Would you believe it if I said I planned that Todoroki line since the fic began? Lol.

Chapter Text

Tsuyu Asui was a rather subdued person, but that did not mean she was immune to shock or emotion. Infact, seeing one of her best friends interacting and caring for a child so well was making her heart swirl. She already wanted to jump (or hop, as frogs do-) Izumi’s bones, but even more now. Even if it was small, she was smiling.

Until Himiko Toga was mentioned.

Ochaco Uraraka thought herself a kind person. She wanted to be a hero for her family, and for kids who grew up in poor situations like herself. She also deeply loved cared for Izumi. It wasn’t hard to fall, and seeing her be so soft for her child warmed her heart. She and Izumi both had similar aspirations, being heroes for people, not for fame and fortune. Ochaco wanted to be a hero for small communities, not to fight.

And then she met Himiko Toga.

Both Tsuyu and Ochaco had the unfortunate displeasure of being sliced and diced by Himiko during the Summer Camp Attack. Tsuyu had sustained a nasty cut to her tongue, and Ochaco had been stabbed in the thigh repeatedly whilst she had Himiko pinned. There was something feral in her eyes, like a deep, unsettling hunger of a predator…

No. It was like a starving animal. A desperation, A need.

It shook Ochaco to her core.

She was a villain who hurt her and her friends.

But she seemed like an abused animal, not a monster.

“... fuck.”

Izumi swore at Shoto’s declaration of Hana’s parents.

Katsumi looked at Izumi as if to say “REALLY? IN FRONT OF THE FUCKIN’ KITTEN? DON’T SWEAR NERD! BAD NERD!”. Izumi knew Katsumi would spray her with a squirt bottle for that later.

Izumi looked and Inko who was still sweating from Hana’s explosions and then Shoto’s theory.

“... Mama, could you take Hana up to our room? I think I need to talk to everyone.”

“Awwww but Mama! I wanna meet your friends!”

Hana pouted and clenched her fists at her side. Izumi knelt down and kissed the girl’s forehead.

“Honey you just had your quirk awaken, you must’ve tuckered yourself out, how about a quick nap before you meet everyone?”

Izumi smiled and brushed one of Hana’s curls to the side. She nearly paused at the small horn poking from the side of the girl’s forehead. She then remembered Eri had already been dubbed Hana’s “new best friend forever”, and given her other mother’s elaborate copy quirk, it was likely Hana had copied Inko, Katsumi and Eri’s quirks.

“Oh my gosh- Copy Cat- she’s copying quirks of all the people she feels close too!”

Izumi nearly exploded with how effortlessly adorable Hana was. Hana smiled a little and then hugged Izumi.

“Okay! I’m gonna nap and then I can meet everyone!”

Hana pounced on all fours over to Inko, who scooped the girl up into her arms and carried her upstairs.

Izumi turned to face the class before walking over to the couches in the living room.

“Take a seat. I’m sure you have questions.”

“So… Izumi…”

Ochaco started.

“We met almost five years ago now. On my way home from school, I ran into a bunch of people harassing a girl for her quirk. They said she was villainous and not to be trusted. Since I’m quirkless… I related to that.”

Izumi’s hands roughly fidgeted with eachother, wrangling her fingers together. Katsumi and Shoto took either side of her, grabbing her hands so she wouldn’t hurt herself. Shoto gently cooled Izumi down by leaning against her, Katsumi rubbed small circles into Izumi’s hand to calm her down.

“She needed blood to survive. Just like we need food and water… she needed blood. She was being starved by her parents, and her mental state was deteriorating.”

Shoto stiffened at that thought. Another person going through what he went through. The torment of being abused solely for one’s quirk. While his was a “heroic” quirk, he was beaten and bruised by Endeavor to become a machine of war. Himiko had been starved and beaten for a need of living. Both of them abused for something they never could control.

Hitoshi and Shoji were having similar thoughts to Shoto’s. Both could relate to being harassed for a villainous quirk, something that made them different and hated. Hitoshi remembered how Izumi always took extra care to his muzzle scars, as if she’d done it before. But, if she saved someone who needed to drink blood, there was a good chance she’d have experience treating those old wounds.

“She was doing better after a year together, and I was… I was alone. Nobody liked the quirkless kid, aside from the vampire girl who saw me as a hero…”

Izumi’s eyes watered, and Dark Shadow burst out of Fumikage to go grab Izumi tissues. Izumi took them graciously.

“... The morning that I learned I was gonna have Hana, Himiko never came home. Mom and I tried to look for her, we looked into her parents but… nobody would help us. She just vanished…”

Izumi stared at the ground for a moment.

“I’m sorry.”

The tears started flowing.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened to her. I don’t know why she hurt you. I wish I knew. I’m so sorry.”

The words barely came out through sobs and gasped breaths. All that could be done was have Ochaco and Tsuyu hold onto Izumi.

“It’s not your fault kero. You did the right thing, you helped her kero.”

“What she did was her own doing, not yours.”

“P-p-p-p-please don’t hate Hana… she doesn’t- she doesn’t deserve that!”

Izumi cried into Ochaco’s arms. Ochaco held onto her tight and Tsuyu gripped onto them both like her life depended on it.

“Kero. She isn’t a villain. She’s a child. Your child.”

“Yeah! She was just born, it’s not her fault!”

“And she’s adorable, kero.”

“That too!”

Izumi fell apart in the two’s arms. She wished Himiko weren’t to blame, but right now, she just wanted to make sure Ochaco and Tsuyu, two of her closest friends, didn’t hate her or Hana. Mainly Hana. The reassurance didn’t heal her heart, but it did lessen the burden.

“Hate to say it, but she proved everyone right.”

Ojiro cut through the quiet comfort.

“...what?”

Katsumi looked at Ojiro with fury, and Ojiro shrugged.

“Well. Everyone said she’d be a villain, and look at her. She IS a villain. She got what she deserved.”

Izumi broke down into tears again, this time Shoto, Shoji, Dark Shadow, Hitoshi and Kyouka all joined Tsuyu and Ochaco in the comfort cuddle. Katsumi began to walk to Ojiro with fury in her heart.

SLAM

Ojiro’s face was smashed down into the coffee table, breaking it beneath his nose. Everyone looked in shock as the one who retaliated against Ojiro wasn’t Katsumi or Izumi, but Tenya. Tenya shook his hand out from the punch down on Ojiro.

“I’ll buy the dorms a new table. How DARE you Ojiro.”

Ojiro tried to launch himself up at Tenya, but Tenya held onto Ojiro’s shoulders and kept him from moving.

“We are trying to be heroes here, Ojiro. I cannot believe you’d be so cruel as to excuse a child’s abuse with your bigotry. You’re despicable.”

“She’s a vampire, she was hurting people. There was no other way for her to go.”

“I-i-i-i-i gave her all the blood I could!”

Izumi wailed from beneath the cuddles of Hitoshi and Shoto.

Tenya lifted Ojiro off of the ground, making him meet them in the eyes.

“Ojiro. What would you say about a person whose quirk influences people’s brains? Makes them immediately smile or start laughing uncontrollably?”

“They’re manipulating people’s emotions, they’d be a villain.”

Tenya tightened his grip.

“Quirk: Outburst. That quirk can be used to make people smile and laugh upon activation. That is my mother’s quirk. My mother, Ms. Joke, the Smile Hero.”

Tenya dropped the boy, who fell to his knees.

“Our teacher, Eraserhead, negates quirks entirely. Villainous. Midnight can knock anyone unconscious without effort. Villainous. All Might’s strength can level cities and change the weather. Villainous. And yet, all these people are heroes. Ojiro. There is no excuse for bigotry. Quirks are a part of us, they do not define us. Our actions do. Izumi saw a girl in need and helped her. How do we not know she was not kidnapped and starved until she was unleashed at the camp? No part of one’s identity justifies abuse of any kind.”

Tenya looked coldly down at Ojiro.

“You. Are. Despicable.”

Aizawa sat on the sofa, sipping his coffee. If anyone asks why Ojiro was in the infirmary later that day, all he’d respond with was “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

After Ojiro had been escorted (blasted by Katsumi across campus) to the infirmary, the class prepared to properly meet Hana.

“IZUMI! ANYONE! HELP!”

What they didn’t prepare for was Inko screaming for help, as Hana was warped away into the villain’s lair.

Notes:

:3

This is probably the most Shoto/Izu and Tenya/Izu I've written ever. Shoto/Izu is pretty popular, so I prob won't contribute more to that, but maybe I should do more with Tenya, since I'm starting to see the vision of him and Izu.

Chapter Text

The class stood in shock as they gripped with the terms of the League breaking into the dorms, meant to be safe and secure. And Izumi had just had her pride and joy stolen away. Just inches away, and seconds too late.

Izumi took a long, deep breath in.

“In for four. Hold. Out for four.

In for four. Hold. Out for four…”

Izumi’s face turned to a sinister snarling smile.

“Kacchan… the burner phone from the kitchen. Now.”

Katsumi tensed up as the class stilled from the harshness from Izumi’s voice.

“Shit you don’t mean-”

“Katsumi. Phone. NOW.”

Katsumi ran to the kitchen to get Izumi the emergency burner they’d placed in case someone needed it. The class was confused as Izumi scowled entering the number and placing the phone on speaker.

“Hey Giran. It’s your favorite vigilante. I need the League’s whereabouts immediately. At any cost necessary.”

Giran: Now now, Bunny. You may be a favorite client of mine, but you know I can’t just dish out information on my contacts.

Izumi gripped the phone tightly, cracks forming at the edges of the screen.

“Giran, my daughter was kidnapped by the League of Villains. I need whereabouts NOW.”

Giran: Sorry kiddo. No can do.

Izumi sighed.

“Okay. Hard way it is. Info Broker Alias: Giran. Quirk Status: Originally Quirkless, given the quirk Muddied by All For One. Muddied allows the user to cause minor amnesia to an affected target for the past five minutes and the following five minutes, allowing your identity to be mostly untraceable. Mostly, of course, being the key word there. Isn’t that right, Hisashi Midoriya, currently residing at [REDACTED]?”

Giran: How the…

Izumi smiled, but the room grew cold.

“Now, remember Giran. The Rabid Rabbit brought in Muscular, didn’t she? And remind me, it was a closed casket funeral wasn’t it? After all, he was brought into custody in separate pieces. And who is this Rabid Rabbit again? Oh. It's me. Isn't it?”

Giran: …

“Now, how about you tell me where exactly I can find my daughter, free of charge? In fact, sweeten the deal for me. Get me my favorite partner for this raid as well.”

Giran: WHAT? She’s in Tartarus you can’t seriously think I can-

“The average human body has two hundred and six bones, Hisashi. Would you like to arrive at the morgue in four hundred and twelve boxes?”

Giran: … I’ll text you the info and get her out.

“Good. I’ll give you an hour before I make you look like the wall I painted with the USJ Nomu’s entrails.”

Izumi palmed the phone, smashing it between her fingers effortlessly. Izumi and Shoto’s eyes met.

“Shitty dads, am I right?”

Now, All For One is over two centuries old. Now, most people are unfit for any sort of position of power past the age of 60, as cognitive decline begins to set in. All For One should have experienced cognitive decline four times by now. And given the predicament he had found himself in, he very well may have.

Number One: He chose to defy the wishes of his team and go ahead with the retrieval of an enemy combatant’s child.

Number Two: The mother of the child working for you is currently pissed because she wanted to go TO the child, as to prove trust, not take her in.

Number Three: This child is the child of the former vigilante turned heroics student, Rabid Rabbit, who is particularly brutal with her takedowns of monstrous criminals (she is also known to be very kind and supportive of those committing smaller crimes, like shoplifting, trying to find them proper support and places to help them if need be).

And most importantly, Number Four: This child has just had a quirk awakening, something he would know, as nearly all children develop their quirks at this exact age. A quirk awakening that is very powerful, and currently, not adequately controlled. A quirk awakening, by a child who has the instincts of a cat, which would make them instantly attack when threatened. Attacking with their quirk, which, of course, copied the quirk Rewind, which can rewind people out of existence.

And the League had to watch in horror as Kurogiri dropped Hana out of a portal, into All For One’s grasp, where immediately, Kurogiri’s wispy form was whisked away into a fluffy teal cloud, and All For One, having direct contact, was reverted into the primordial sludge from which all life on earth originated.

“... Wow. That went about as horribly as we all expected huh?”

Tomura snarked at the no-longer-existent boss. Oboro looked at his now human form, his signature bandage still present on his nose his goggles weren't there. But of course they weren't. He'd given them to Shouta just a few minutes ago, before running into that building to save that last citizen from the villain- right? "Where- Where is he? It's... It's only been a minute hasn't it? How... How long was I out?..."

“Y’see I told’im that I just wanted to meet my daughter, go there to see Izumi and see what’s up but noooooo he has to bring her here and get himself dusted.”

Himiko sighed out.

“Wait, daughter?”

Hana looked up at Himiko, with their eyes mirroring eachother. With the familiarity in their eyes, Hana’s nerves eased, instincts flaring to life, saying "This girl is part of your pack"

“You’re my other Mommy?”

Himiko picked up Hana into a crushing hug, causing the girl to giggle.

“Mmhmm! That dummy you just beat had kept me away for so long, but now I get to be the fun mom!”

Tomura sat at the bar, with a very panicked and shaky Oboro cleaning glasses out of need for something familiar.

“... Can I be the fun aunt?”

The occupants of the bar looked at Tomura.

“What? I’ve got plenty of age-appropriate games for her.”

Twice called out from the back room, out of sight: “MORTAL KOMBAT IS NOT AGE APPROPRIATE!” “YES IT IS, TEACH HER CYRAX!”

“Do you mean Uncle, Dusty?”

Dabi looked at Tomura with a cocked eyebrow.

“I never went to school, Dabi. What the fuck do you expect?”

Himiko gasped and covered Hana’s ears.

“Tomuraaaaaaaaa not with the baby!”

“Shit sorry!”

“TOMURA!”

“Dammit. My bad”

“That’s it.”

Himiko held up a squirt bottle and sprayed Shigaraki repeatedly.

“AH WHAT THE FUCK!”

Himiko sighed and pulled out a super soaker.

“BAD TOMURA! BAD AUNT!”

Hana just giggled and clapped as she sat in Dabi’s lap, watching Himiko chase the (former) heir to the league of villains throne.

“Auntie Tomo- Tomu- mura- Auntie Tomoko is silly!”

Dabi gently pet the girl’s hair, the two tones reminding him slightly of Fuyumi.

“She sure is, kitten. She sure is.”

Chapter Text

When Izumi and Nagant burst through the doors of the League of Villains Bar, they expected several things.

  • A fight
  • A trap
  • Perhaps weapons drawn at them

What they actually received were:

  • Multiple Twice clones and Magne having a Tea Party with Hana.
  • Himiko Toga spraying Tomura Shigaraki with a spray bottle
  • Izumi’s new dad’s (Eraserhead’s) dead ex boyfriend Oboro Shirakumo currently very much alive and concerned about being alive. (Izumi learned about Oboro pretty much day one, Present Mic is a sad drunk and with one glass of wine with Inko he started crying about Oboro. It was unfortunate for everyone involved.)
  • Dabi and Mr. Compress appearing to take bets on something (how long it would take Tomura to come out as Tomoko. Dabi intentionally made a further bet to lose, as he’d just found Endeavor’s credit card information again.)

“Rabid, any clue what’s going on here?”

Lady Nagant asked out loud. Slightly too loud. Hana was very much still a child who just had their quirk awakening. And she was startled. And she accidentally used Pull to drag Nagant to her. And then accidentally used Rewind on her.

And now Kaina was back to being 18. Izumi and Kaina stared at eachother for a moment.

“... Sorry about my daughter-”

“I’m Izumi’s age now? I can live a normal life outside of the commission?...”

Kaina pulled Hana into a hug.

“ThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouohmygoshthankyou.”

Hana was slightly befuddled by this strange purple floofy-haired girl cuddling her, but the cuddles felt nice so she accepted it.

“Well Kaina, I’ll ask my dad to get you a new identity after this. Hey Hana, are you okay? Did anyone hurt you? Where’s All For One? I’m gonna kick his sorry-”

Himiko levelled a glare at Izumi.

“-butt.”

Hana giggled.

“Nyahope! I’m purrfect! Mama Himi is really nice, and all my aunties are nice too! I dunno where All For One is? Is he the one that I accidentally gooped?”

Himiko nodded.

“Yeahhhhh. She killed All For One by mistake.”

Izumi sucked in a breath.

“My four year old daughter killed the Demon Lord of Japan, a task even All Might wasn’t able to do?”

“Our daughter.”

Himiko corrected.

“Well, given her bodycount, I’d say she takes more after me.”

Izumi joked. For a moment she forgot about how Himiko was ever gone. Just sitting beside Hana and Himiko cozied up on a couch in the bar.

“... Oh wait yeah. HIMIKO WHERE DID YOU GO?!?!?!?!? WHY DID YOU ATTACK UA????”

Tomura stepped up, raising his hands in a “I mean no harm” gesture.

“Wait wait wait- don’t blame her! She’s just a brainwashed NPC like Kurogiri over there-”

Tomura pointed at Oboro, looking in a mirror and panicking as he remembered two lives separate from eachother.

“Sensei sorta kidnapped her and starved her of blood so she’d be an attack dog for us. She is totally innocent here, I swear!”

Izumi raised a finger to her mouth thinking for a moment before shrugging.

“Yeah that does sound like something he’d do. We’ll have to verify it with the detective later. Given y’all were coerced or forced into this, you’ll probably be fine. If not, I have a Giran and a Nedzu.”

Tomura let out a gasp of relief.

“It’s not MY fault I got stolen by the BBEG! Seriously! Does everyone think I’m so Low Intelligence stat as to not decay everything in sight if I really wanted to win? NO! I had an explosive quirk stuck in me! I did what I was told so I wouldn’t GAME OVER!”

Hana giggled at her aunt’s phrasing of everything.

“Fatality!”

Izumi looked at Tomura with a glare.

“Tomura, did you teach my daughter to play Mortal Kombat when I was gone?”

Tomura nervously waved their arms in front of them.

“IT WAS THE SNES VERSION! NO BLOOD! NO BLOOD!”

“Oh right, speaking of…”

Izumi turned back to Himiko.

“Need any blood Himi? I’m assuming it’s been a minute.”

Himiko looked shocked.

“You’re… you’re still willing to share your blood?”

Izumi cupped Himiko’s cheek with her hand gently.

“Honey. I’ve worried about you night and day for four years. And in those four years you’ve been abused and neglected. You made mistakes sure, but nothing is broken forever. We can repair it with gold, just like always.”

Himiko and Izumi smiled at eachother before Izumi leaned in for a kiss, with Himiko eagerly returning it.

Izumi pulled back the sleeve of her vigilante suit to let Himiko have a drink of blood.

“Here, take all you need.”

Himiko greedily latched onto Izumi’s arm. Hana, not wanting to miss out on the family time, bit Izumi too.

“OW! Hana! You don’t need blood… wait do you?”

Hana looked up at Izumi with her kitty-eyes pleading, before shrugging and continuing to steal Izumi’s blood. Tomura just laughed at the pair.

In the upcoming weeks, Hawks announced his relationship with a man named Touya Himura, and opened a foster center for children and young adults who had been abused and had nowhere left to go. The Todoroki family members each had a room prepared for them whenever they would like.

Magne went on to work alongside the Wild Wild Pussycats, using their strength for rescue work, and as an apology to Pixie for smashing her head a bit. (Luckily for her, Pixie thought it was hot anyways. The wedding would happen just a year after her introduction to the team.)

Multiple new students joined UA’s classes. Tomoko Shirakumo, Kaina Aizawa, and Himiko Kan all joined class 1A. Tomoko’s Disintegrate quirk was ideal for rescue situations, and she went on to study under Thirteen to become a respected rescue heroine, teaching people about the dangers of quirks and speaking out about inaction in society. In honor of her late grandma who was the High Flying Hero Seven, and her mentor in Thirteen, Tomoko chose the hero name: The Mighty Hero : Nine (no correlation to any former All For One test subjects). Kaina was introduced as Shouta Aizawa’s daughter (Shoto squealed in delight at a “real” secret love child). Her Rifle quirk was ideal for long range combat, and her years of experience (citation needed) made her a powerful twilight hero. She chose the name Lady Olympia. Himiko Kan was adopted by Vlad King, and frequently spoke out about quirk-based discrimination and how such things can end up leading to crimes of desperation. Her quirk and stealth training made her an amazing stealth hero, but its medical possibilities were quickly noted by Izumi Midoriya, and after interning under Recovery Girl, she was set to be a new Medical Heroine. Tomoko insisted that Himiko use the name “Bloodborne” for her hero name, and after Vampirella and Elvira were both shot down, she settled for it. Oboro Shirakumo returned to class 2A after a decade of being dead. Shouta, Hizashi and Nemuri cried a lot during their reunion, and the Quartet of Morons was back in business, even if one of them was now an undead student.

Spinner and Tomoko both went on to become popular game streamers. Mr. Compress wound up returning to the stage, becoming a popular magician and actor. Twice became a popular boy-band group, with every boy being himself in different styles. People still found a way to pick favorites. Following her rehabilitation from the Training Camp Attack, Mustard was accepted into UA’s support course, intending to develop gear for people whose quirks harm them. She and Mei Hatsume were responsible for 87.56% of all explosions at UA, including Katsumi Bakugo’s quirk. Her and Midnight both did DNA tests and found out Midnight was biologically Mustard’s aunt, and Midnight adopted her soon after. (Mustard was now technically Izumi’s sister, given Inko and Nemuri’s marriage).

It took a while for 1A to fully accept Himiko into their groups, but Ochaco slowly started crushing on Himiko in addition to Izumi, so things slowly fell into place there. On the other hand, as soon as Tomoko made her gamer status apparent, she was brought into Kaminari and Sero’s circle, creating the world’s greatest (worst) Fortnite squad of all time.

With Himiko around, Hana had two moms!... plus Hitoshi, Kyouka, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Mei, Rody, Tenya, Shoto, Kaina, and Tomoko.

After a life of abuse and hardship, Izumi and Himiko got all the love in the world. And Hana was surrounded by a large loving family.

And that was all that mattered.

Notes:

So I'm sure people will be mixed on this ending, but I wanted something happy for everyone. That was the point of this whole fic after all, a happy ending for everyone, and an adorable kitty cat.
I might revisit this work later and do more in this world, but I think this is a good enough place to end it.

Chapter 13: EXTRA: Chapter 13

Chapter Text

Now that the League had been dealt with (ie, gooped, rehabed or romanced) it was safe for Class 1A to go on a proper shopping trip at the mall. This time Tomoko would only choke Izumi if she asked nicely. However, this did not occur as Sero and Kaminari dragged Tomoko to the nearest game store. Tomoko still had a card for All For One’s bank account (“who let him have a bank account???”) so she was greedily buying games and anime figurines.

Izumi, Himiko and Hana were walking together as a family, Hana holding each of her parent’s hands and swinging between them while giggling. Some passerbys cooed at the sight, while others looked on with disgust. Those others were quickly met with an intense red glare and firecrackers courtesy of Aizawa and Katsumi.

“Thanks for comin’ along on our shopping trip Dad.”

Izumi looked up at Aizawa with a teasing smile. Aizawa did his best to hide his warm smile beneath his scarf. He scoffed.

“Kid, you currently have two former villains who attempted to kill you alongside you. While I trust them personally, it’d be illogical for us to not escort you all in case of emergency.”

Himiko shrugged slightly.

“No hard feelings, I get it.”

The blonde cat scooped up Hana from Izumi’s grasp and nuzzled into her cheek.

“But I would give up anything to be with my lil kitten!”

Hana giggled as her whiskers were tickled by Himiko’s cheek rubbing up against them.

“Mama, if you’re a kitty too, where’s your ears? Or your tail? Or your whiskers?”

Himiko wilted a bit at the question. Izumi cocked her head. She had always figured Himiko’s catlike traits were a byproduct of genetics, with a primary cat-quirk skipping a generation to get to Hana.

“Ah… Well, personally I never had cat ears or whiskers… but um… my parents weren’t great people… my tail was snipped when I was young…”

Izumi could physically feel the parental rage emanating off of Aizawa at that comment. She idly noticed him pull out his phone and sent a text to Nedzu.

“Oh somebody is about to DIE-”

Hana tried tapping at Himiko’s lower back over and over.

“Hana, love, what are you doing?”

Izumi crouched down next to her daughter whose eyes were slightly watery and her ears drooping.

“I wanna use Eri’s healing to bring back Momma’s tail!”

Izumi scooped up Hana into her arms.

“Honey, Eri rewinds people’s booboos. If you rewound Mama back to when she lost her tail, she might be a baby.”

“Oh…”

“I appreciate you trying to help baby, but if Himi wants her tail back, she might be able to see Recovery Girl about it.”

Hana lit up, her tail swishing and ears on end.

“Yeah! Then we can be kitties together!”

Himiko smiled at Hana, who returned it. Izumi fawned over how Himiko and Hana’s fangs looked identical.

“She really is her daughter huh?”

“Maybe Mommy can be a kitty too!”

Izumi softly chuckled and kissed Hana’s forehead.

“Dear, I was never a kitty, I don’t think I’ll grow a tail.”

“But what about those tails over there?”

Hana pointed to a nearby shop and Izumi and Aizawa both nearly melted to the floor. Himiko on the other hand was fighting a losing battle of hiding her laughs. Hana was pointing to Nightly’s Adult Toy and Video Store, an R18 Goods Store co-owned by Izumi’s step-mom Midnight. In the window were a rainbow of tails in the window display, clearly for a pride month sale, each with a peculiar form of being worn. Izumi sighed and used her hands to cover Hana’s eyes.

“... The toys in that store are for adults love- not for us.”

Himiko on the other hand had handed off her shopping bags to Aizawa and ran into the store.

“... It’s always problems with you isn’t it?”

Aizawa looked down at Izumi, but she could tell there was nothing but fondness behind it.

“You adopted me, no take backs.”

Aizawa did his best to hug Izumi in spite of the bags filling his arms.

Himiko ran back out of the store, a small bag in her hand.

“Hana! I got something purrfect!”

“Himiko no-”

Himiko reached into the bag and brought out two sets of Cat Ear Headbands, one in blonde, one in green. She slapped the green pair onto Izumi and the blonde on herself.

“WOAH! Mommy and Momma are both kitties nyow!!”

Hana lit up in excitement as Izumi flushed, embarrassed, but still happy with Hana excitedly hugging her. At the sound of a click, she saw Aizawa taking a picture of her in the cat ears and she almost wilted, knowing Nemuri and Inko would tease her forever about that. Himiko on the other hand had a devilish grin on her face.

“Oh right! I got one for your Granddad too Hana!”

Aizawa looked down at the black cat ears with gold bells and pink ribbons in them. He looked at Hana who was pleading with him to wear it with her puppydogeyes (… kittydogeyes?... kittycateyes?...). He sighed and wore it for her. He only slightly grumbled when Izumi and the rest of the class took pictures.

“Himiko that CANNOT be good oh my gosh-”

Izumi and some of the girls were sat around at a small bakery in the mall, as Himiko took out her thermos and started dipping the cookies she had bought into blood.

“Kero. That seems like it’d taste like chocolate covered in pennies- kero.”

Kyouka shuddered as Tsuyu spoke.

“Girl why did you have to say that I can feel that on my teeth now-”

“I’m more concerned with the texture, like the thickness of blood cannot be good with that.”

Izumi butted in. Himiko shook her head.

“Nonono, it’s perfect actually. Blood and milk are both chunky so it substitutes well.”

Izumi cocked her head at Himiko.

“Himiko I love you with my whole heart- milk should not be chunky.”

“Have you been drinking spoiled milk?”

Ochaco looked slightly concerned. Himiko shrugged. Kaina chose to reach across the table and dip her donut into the thermos and take a bite.

“... Not as bad as I expected.”

Momo and Tooru looked close to death, Izumi and Himiko both snorted and Kyouka and Ochaco just looked at her in awe.

“HOW CAN YOU EAT THAT???”

Mina practically screeched. Kaina shrugged at the question.

“Prison food is worse not gonna lie.”

Izumi nodded.

“Can confirm, she cried when she had some of my pancakes the first time.”

“They’re good pancakes.”

The group continued eating without incident, outside of Hana asking to try more sweets than she should eat, of course.

“... Hey wait a minute, Izumi, what do you mean you can confirm blood is better than prison food?”

Izumi and Kaina just walked away when Mina asked.

“HEY! No fair! Answer!!”

“Alright, we should probably start heading back to UA soon…”

Izumi looked at the time, but Hana tugged at her skirt.

“Hmm? Yes honeybun?”

“Can we go to the toystore we went to with Auntie before?”

“Of course sweetheart, there’s always time for that!”

Izumi picked up Hana and sped off in the direction of the  toy store. Himiko ran off after them.

Izumi let Hana to the floor where she instantly scampered off to the stuffed animals.

“Whatcha lookin for dear?”

Izumi asked as Hana dug through a bin before excitedly swishing her tail and leaping up with a plush in her arms.

“Yay! I knew I saw one! Look look! It’s momma!”

Hana presented a yellow cat plush to Izumi and Himiko. The toy seemed to have been here for a while, having been worn in a few places, and missing it's tail. Himiko clutched Hana in her arms, happy tears in her eyes.

“It’s purrfect kitten, just like you.”

Hana nuzzled against Himiko and Izumi just smiled at her adorable kittens.

Notes:

so fun fact... with how Hana grabbed the "broken" plush for Himiko- personally I do that all the time. Any time I see a plush whose missing an eye, or is torn up, I feel bad and I take it home. My wife can confirm this haha.
