   Donnie doesn’t believe in twin telepathy. He doesn’t believe they’re twins, either. But it feels like something is missing, when he no longer has someone so intrinsically linked to him. When someone who has always clung to him suddenly withdraws, pulling everything with him. It feels like holding water in his hands, seeping through every crack. And he cannot catch it, cannot stop holding his hands there even though he is losing all that is inside.

   “You don’t want to go in there.” Leo says quietly, hauntingly. His ninpo is pushed away, while the water continues to somehow drown itself.

   For once, he wishes he could see what was going on inside Leo’s head. For once, the idea of telepathy doesn’t seem quite so bad.

   OR:

   Donnie does not believe in twin telepathy. Surely there is some other reason to explain all of this.
