Kamishiro Rui, a genius third year student attending kamikou had quite the reputation tarnished for himself. No matter what, he’d always be behind some sort of experiment, wether it be fully functioning AIs capable of consciousness, to flower petals being mechanically thrown out of whatever new robot the boy had finished working on. But alas, he never works alone! (Or atleast now he never does) because none other then tenma tsukasa, the man born to be a star, is never far from his partner in crime. They’re practically inseparable! The weirdo wombo combo never fails to disappoint with their miraculous stunts (even if oddball one is a bit reluctant to whatever oddball two wants to present). That takes us back to the present, where Rui is currently waiting for the blonde to come out of kamikous doors
Tsukasa is finally seen exciting the building, and his eyes seem to light up just at the sight of the purple haired teenager.
After a quick moment of standing around, they pass the school gates in silence
How was your day rui? Got any prop ideas for our newest show? Tsukasa asks to finally start a conversation. Rui admits it could be rather awkward when neither of the boys have anything to say in these types of situations, but it’s not like he doesn’t mind. staring at tsukasa’s charismatic features are a good, if not better alternative. Rui could go on and on about the star and his pretty face and hair and eyes and lips and hands and arms and-
“Rui?”
It seems like Rui had his head head in the clouds thinking about tsukasa, again.
“Ah! Sorry tsukasa-kun, I might’ve zoned out for a moment there.”
So the director might have the tiniest of crushes on the star, but it’s only a small one, right? It’s not like his feelings are shared, so a small crush wouldn’t kill him. Everything’s fine.
When he arrives out of his train of thought, Rui realizes that tsukasa had draped an arm around his shoulder, causing a pink hue to dust his cheeks
“In response to your question, I had quite a good day, thank you for asking~”
He tries to ignore the small flush on his face and attempt to keep the teasing tone in his voice.
“May I ask how was yours, tsukasa-kun?”
“Ah! It went fairly well!”
He says
“my duties in the disciplinary committee kept me held up during lunch, which is why I’m glad we have the chance to talk to eachother now! I actually have an idea where-“
Ruis eyes lingered from the blonde’s face to his lips as he continued rambling.
“You seem very devoted to your duties, tsukasa-kun.”
“Of course I am! I care very much so for the things I love and have a passion for, you being included, rui! You seriously need to take a day off for yourself once in a while.”
The subtle hint in that sentence made the director’s heart race faster as he felt more blood rise up to his cheeks, slowly spreading to his ears aswell.
“You’re always so thoughtful, aren’t you?”
Rui is trying (and failing) to stay calm
“I try to be! A star such as myself needs to prepare for all of his future fans worldwide!!”
“Fufufu~”
The taller one found himself staring at the smile on the shorter one’s face for a little longer than anticipated, thinking about how his brightness could rival that of the sun’s.
“You must be the most caring star in the whole universe, right?”
“In the whole multiverse, that is!”
He proudly exclaims
“Oh my~, that’s quite the statement you have there, my star. Do you have have proof to back yourself up?”
Tsukasa flinches slightly at the nickname, before straightening his posture and giving his response to Rui’s overly flirtatious tone and comment that really got to his head. (In a good way, but it’s not like he would actually admit that to anyone)
“Hmph! I suppose I could show you a couple of poses reserved for the star’s most special audience!!”
Removing the arm that rested around Rui’s shoulder, he backed up a bit, nearly hitting a streetlamp in his path, and proceeded to start his frenzy of poses
Rui didn’t have the chance to miss the arm on his shoulder and the warmth it brought him, because before he knew it, the purple haired teen had already started giggling at the sight of how "dramatic" some of the poses were.
“Well, with a sight as magnificent as this, I can’t help but feel more special then just your average fan~ “
he lightly joked
“That is certainly because you are one, dear director! You are quite the special fan, if I do say so myself..”
“Is that so? Being complimented by THE tenma tsukasa is certainly an honour.”Rui adds
“Well not just any dear director i suppose, even if you are the dearest of all directors. But still, you are wonderlands x showtime director! You get the privilege of being in the presence of not only its dreamer and diva, but it’s beloved chairman who is not only incredibly handsome, but who is also capable of striking amazing poses!”
“So I’m not just any old director, huh? I never knew that I held such a high place in your heart.”
“None other than MY director!”
“How flattering~”
Rui’s cheeks just kept on getting hotter with the praise, leading to him covering his face with one arm, thinking that it’ll magically remove the redness. His voice definitely doesn’t match to up to his expression.
“Hmm? Rui? Your face and ears are really red, do you not feel well?”
The star places his hand on the director’s forehead
He was somewhat taken aback by his sudden concern.
“D-don’t worry about it! It’s probably just the heat, I’m fine.”
“It isn’t that hot today.. you sure you aren’t sick?”
“It’s really nothing. I’m fine, seriously.
“I’m fine.”
He repeated once again like a mantra to himself, as he took a deep breath to hopefully calm his racing heart down.
“Haha.. well on a different subject, I was kinda hoping you’d come over today, maybe like a sleepover? and we could like- discuss our newest show or maybe watch a musical and such!”
It looked like the blonde was almost hesitating to ask that, judging by his tone of voice.
“S-sleepover? I-I’d need to stop by my house first to grab my things, but why not”
For the 100th time today, rui felt the blood rush up to his cheeks, and he took a moment to process the others words.
Spending the night at tsukasas house was definitely an offer he would never refuse, so how could he not decline?
One thing about tsukasa, was that he was always the oblivious type, so he’d probably never come to the realization of his and Rui’s feelings if things kept going on like this.
“Like I said before, if you’re not feeling up to it, take a break! You deserve it”
“Oh, no I don’t mind, I can sleep over.”
“HAHAHA!, “well, It appears like we’ve arrived at your house, go get whatever you need for tonight, and to make it easier for you I could happily lend you some of my own clothes!”
“Y-yeah, let me get my stuff real quick”
He immediately rushes inside after unlocking the door not saying a single word to his mother who had been waiting for him to come home, and who unfortunately saw his very flushed face. She was aware of her son having feelings for a certain blonde boy, but this time being the first she’s ever seen him in person.
While Rui’s mother and Tsukasa shared some small talk, Rui rushed to his room, grabbing a duffel bag under his bed. He shoved random supplies that would be necessary along with some notebooks plastered with new show ideas Tsukasa would mostly likely wanna see.
After quickly throwing the bag over his shoulder, he ran downstairs only to feel his mothers eyes immediately landing on him.
“M-mom, I’m just going over to tsukasa’s house for the night, don’t worry. I’ll be back in the morning.”
He quickly said as he walked towards the front door, in hopes of walking out before his mother could make any remarks about his face or any akward questioning about tsukasa.
“Alright, we can head over to your house now.”
As the star walked off of his front porch Rui hastily pushed up his glasses and readjusted the duffle back resting on his shoulder before catching up with tsukasa.
“yknow, I’m surprised I’ve never actually seen your mom before, she seemed like a really nice person back there.”
“Ah, right. I assume you talked with her a bit?”
The thought of her saying anything embarrassing about him infront of tsukasa didn’t help the rapid race of his heart, but he still tried to play it cool.
“U-uh, what, exactly did she say?”
“She mostly talked about how much you talk about me, actually. She said you’re always so cute when you have that lovestruck expression on your face.”
It was in times like these where the star couldn’t exactly take the hint and his obliviousness got the best of him.
(Oh god..mom what have you done.)
He facepalmed
(Ill have to deal with this when I get back home)
“Do you, ever talk about me at home?”
His breath hitched a bit and Rui’s face went from blushing to tomato-tier red when the question was asked. He could feel his heartbeat getting more and more rapid as he struggled to reply.
“U-uhm,..W-well, it may come up in conversation every once in a while”
Honestly, what was up with him today? He’d usually be able to keep his composure when it came to the star, but something was definitely going on with him.
“My director is so kind, talking about me like that, but even if I do believe every word of praise that you give me, I’m not the only one that deserves it. Emu and nene are also amazing actors”
It seems like Tsukasa was blushing slightly for a change after what Rui said.
the director was surprised to see a small hint of blush on his face, it was subtle but he noticed it. He looked at the stars expression once more before looking ahead.
“I agree, they definitely are brilliant actors and wonderful friends to work with. Emu has her unique imagination and personality that always helps us when we’re in need, and Nene always knows how to shut me the fuck up when she thinks my ideas might be a bit over the top~.”
He said before looking back at tsukasa, giving him a slight smirk.
“Why’d you have to specifically say when your ideas are over the top?”
He looked at Rui with a slightly puzzled look
He chuckled and continued
“I specified that part because your the only one I can rely on as my wonderful, handsome, caring talented star who’s willing to go along with anything I say with that pretty smile of his when it comes to my inventions~”
“W-well, thank you very much!”
His blush started to look like a more vivid red rather then a light pink, and his tone became much more soft, a large contrast to his usual booming voice
“fufu~”
Rui noticed his change of voice, which made his heart skip a beat and felt his own ears get even warmer from how flustered Tsukasa was making him
“Is the wonderful star already this flustered by the simple praises given by a merely humble director~?”
“It might just be the fact that you’re just good at giving compliments!”
He pouted slightly
The flattery only made his heart beat even faster as he chuckled at the statement
“You’re one to talk, your already the most confident and egotistical individual on the planet”
Their banter went on for quite a while before reaching the Tenma household, anticipation taking the best of Rui as they arrived on his star’s front porch, Tsukasa’s pair of keys being jabbed into the front door
Rui couldn’t take it anymore. Tsukasa was just too adorable for him, as his golden hair shined through the rays of the sun, making his already beautiful face even more majestic then it should be. Letting his heart take over most of his feelings was not a good idea, as he placed a gently peck on the other’s cheek, earning a surprised squeak mixed in with a blush in return.
“Rui you..you..I um-“
He cradled the spot that had been kissed with his hand, Like he was trying to savour any bit of warmth that remained with it.
“I just..oh my god..I just did that”
The weight of his actions started to overwhelm him, not being able to look at the blonde in the eyes properly without literally melting
“RUI?!”
“Aha..ha..fufu~?”
