Chapter Text
*PING* *Ping*
That was the unmistakable sound of the school bell. Everyone began running and walking out of George Newman Middle School. The only kids that stayed behind were part of the Art Club and Jazz Band.
13 year old Pim Pimling went to bus 25. He sat in an empty seat.
Pim wished that his other friends were on the same bus as him, but Fillmore and Duncan were on bus 12, and Bill got picked up by his parents. The girl in the seat next to Pim’s was drawing and listening to something on a pink CD player. Pim recognized that girl from math class, she also sat at the lunch table in front of the one that Pim sat at with his friends. Pim wondered what she was listening to when he suddenly heard her faintly sing a familiar tune.
“If you’d like to make a call, please hang up and try again. If you need help, hang up and then dial your ooooooooperator.”
The bus drove for a good minute before it made a stop at the High school. The Middle School buses are shared with the high school, Pim didn’t like it because he found the High Schoolers to be a bit mean. One even threw a chewed lollipop stick in his direction!
As the bus stopped, over a dozen High Schoolers walked on. Some had art projects, one had a book, some holding their instruments from the school band, a boy with a pamphlet for a community college in the area, and a kid with a textbook in his hand and a worried expression on his face.
The bus drove off and the bus was buzzing with chaos. Two kids were arguing about which Mr. Frog movie was the best, the kid with the textbook was doing his work with a panic, the girl with the CD player was still listening to the “Running With Scissors” album, and a boy was telling his friends about how he had completed “GWIMBLY: The Creamed Corn Tower”, but was failing science.
At one stop, the people who lived at the house, a couple in their 60’s, walked up to the bus driver and said that the kids no longer lived there and had moved to Kentucky.
“Why is everyone moving to Kentucky?” A boy shouted.
The bus ride went as normal for a while when suddenly, a scent filled the back of the bus.
Victoria’s Secret Love Spell
Pim recognized the scent, his older sister Amy had it and wore it all the time. The bus quickly came to a halt, and the boy with the perfume had to come to the front of the bus.
“Everyone here smells like crap” The boy said to the bus driver, to justify why he did it.
The bus driver took the perfume away and said that the boy would get it back when he got off.
The rest of the bus ride went normally.
