Summary
The mountains were unforgiving during the harsh winter season. Most of the animals that lay claim to the terrain were away for the season, migrating far south to avoid the sheets of snow that fell as heavy as rocks. What little game remained in the forest was either too viscous or too meager to sustain a living being. Trees had fallen left and right, succumbing to the weight of freezing ice, snapping in cracks at odd angles. Unsettling bouts of silence swept through the barren grounds, wind whispering like gwisin that left the remaining wood mice bound under the safety of a fallen tree trunk. Lonely, cold and feedless. The mountain range had nothing to offer once January woke up.
