What if… Sun Lilies and MoonStones

What if the monkey duo looked for their child a little harder?

There are some details of the world I’m shifting around compared to the OG series for a more entertaining tale

Chapter 1: Death begets Life

Chapter Text

“I shouldn’t have said that… m just… pushing him away again…” Wu Kong whimpered softly. Molten copper tears streaming down his face as he slowly stood up. Looking around the room once more for any sign of their child…

How could their child die so easily though?

Little Hazel, and wasn’t that such a boring name, was born of two Immortals. Even if she was born when they were mortal it… it shouldn’t be THIS easy to kill their baby… right…?

Stumbling to his feet, Wu Kong made his way to what remained of the Crib…

Should have made her a baby hammock. Would have been much easier to ease their little one to sleep that way…

The room stank of the Diyu so it was easy to assume Voldemort cast the Killing curse and it had a more… severe effect thanks to the wards Lily had put up. Yet…

Looking around with golden vision, Wu Kong saw things differently.

“Lady Bone Demon,” he muttered with horror as he watched a brief glimpse of how the explosion happened. Noting how Voldemort was talking to that… that manipulative bitch!

What really caught his eye was the fact that their baby didn’t perish in the explosion… he couldn’t see what happened next but… it kindled some hope.

Now to grasp his husband to go looking for where their baby went…

In the woods, Macaque was having a bit of a mental breakdown. Haunted by whispers telling him how much of a failure he is. How he should have never considered the idea of a happy family…

How Wu Kong doesn’t truly love him…

“Liu’er! Liu’er!” He heard calling out through the woods.

Looking where the sound was coming from he saw Wu Kong. Copper still stuck to his face as he looked around.

“Liu’er! Mihou!” He called out again.

Eventually ending up directly underneath the tree Macaque was hiding in.

Looking up, Wu Kong offered a small smile, “there you are. Come on we have to go find our kid.”

“She’s dead… didn’t you see the nursery?” Didn’t you shout that at me mere minutes ago was left unsaid but heavily implied.

“I ah… okay that was an idiot move on my part… I hadn’t even used my golden vision to check yet…” Wu Kong sighed, scratching his check some, “I checked though… whatever happened, our baby didn’t die by fire or ice. She’s gotta be out there somewhere in someone else’s care.”

By fire or ice?

Odd way of putting it…

Macaque had a feeling there was a reason behind the phrase but let it be…

“Why do you need ME there? Don’t I just run away from everything?” Macaque sneered, curling into a tighter ball. Tail wrapping around his legs…

“Because I don’t want to do this without my husband,” Wu Kong offered as he lifted himself onto the branch to be closer to said husband, “we planned a life together before this war and death. A Baby to call our own… Oh Buddha why did we have to pick a name like Hazelelpino?” Giggling softly as more copper tears leaked from his eyes.

“You picked it… said no magical contract would get her name right that way,” Macaque snorted. Slowly relaxing, “and you refused to let Sirius name her cause he wanted to call her Cheeky Monkey… n Remus had a whole notebook of ideas…”

“And Severus wanted us to wait a year to make sure she’d survive,” Wu Kong giggled, rubbing at their cheeks some.

“What will we do if we find her? She’ll be human…” Mortal, fragile, breakable. All left unsaid but left hanging in the air…

“Can’t take her back to Flower Fruit mountain… I have too many enemies looking for the “Great Sun Wu Gong”,” Sun Wu Kong sighed.

“What if… Lily and James… didn’t die?” Macaque proposed. Putting a glamour on to look like his human self again. Their arts of transformation making the illusion far more tangible than most demons could manage.

“Wait wait… we still have enemies here though?” Wu Kong pointed out, letting her glamour of Lily form without even thinking about it. Having grown comfortable like this.

“But Lily and James don’t have enemies in China~” James purred smugly as he pulled his Sun Lily into his lap, “it’ll be like that one Human show you like~”

Wu Kong giggled, “you mean the one about the family of assassins that went into hiding so they could raise their equally as deadly kids?~”

Mihou nuzzled the crook of Wu Kong’s neck, “exactly… but instead of assassins, we are a family of demonic celestial monkeys, hiding as humans, from humans~ a fun little drama~”

Lily leaned into the nuzzles, sqeeing quietly, “Miiihooooouuuuu~ were in public!~”
