Chapter Text
The first time James met lily was in first year. Merely walking down the hall carrying his books with an annoyed sigh…
A fiery ball of energy ran into him. The young fiery haired witch came barreling into him with enough force to knock over the relatively tall 11 year old. His books sent scattered across the ground. Dressed in the golden hues of Hufflepuff, she was like the sun in his eyes.
The young witch looked like a puffed up cat that was fleeing something… and indeed he spotted three Griffondor upperclassmen running down the hallway.
She got back to her feet quickly and pulled James along with her, “NO TIME TO EXPLAIN! JUST RUN!”
And run he did. Though he didn’t have enough energy to keep it up for too long, collapsing after only a few minutes. Lily dragged him into a closet for safety…
“What… what was that?” James asked, gasping for air.
Lily shushed him, eyes alight with mischief and mirth. She listened to the door to see if the tails were gone.
James rolled his eyes, “I heard them run past us not long after you shut the door.”
Lily blinked in confusion, “you did?”
“I ah… I’ve got really good hearing…” James scratched his cheek with a chuckle, “now why were they chasing you?”
“I maaay have ah… Dropped some laxatives on their chocolate bars… without them seeing me do it…” she giggled, “when they saw the bottle in my bag they started to chaaase! Whooosh!” Giggling over how fun it was, her voice sounded like the clearest of bells.
“And… why did you bring me?” James asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Cause it was fun? I just wanted some company. Rem-Rem and Snapey are suuuuch a sticks in the mud when I want to have fuuun,” she offered, shrugging idly.
“And they aaaare?” James asked, trying to get some more information on the situation.
“Oh! My study buddies~ Snapey and I came from the same neighborhood n used to play together aaaallllllll the time!~ and we met Rem-Rem in the library! He couldn’t help but fall for my gorgeous charm!~” she winked while giving a cheesy finger gun.
James blinked a couple times before laughing a little, “ooooh Merlin that’s so cheesy~ worse than Sirius~”
Lily gasped, “I have competition?!”
“Nooooo! Nono nooooo! I ah… just don’t think introducing you to my friend Sirius will be… safe… for anybody’s sake,” James chuckled, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Oh? That sounds exciting!” Lily purred as she invaded James’s personal bubble, “tell me mooore?~”
