Work Text:
The maid gulped as she approached the mansion. It seemed to be the right address, leading her right to Spider Mansion. Chills ran down the maid’s back as she remembered all the things people have said about the place and the two maids that went missing after cleaning up the Mansion.
She walked up to the door, readying her shaking hand to knock when the door swung open to reveal Truffle Cookie, standing there almost as if she was waiting. “Excuse me ma’am, I’m the maid sent by Cl-” The maid started before Truffle interrupted her. “Hello dear... Come in, come in.” She told the maid, stepping back to allow her to enter. The maid followed her cue to walk in, looking around at what she had to clean up. When she looked back at Truffle, her pet was in her hands, being petted as if it were a cat. “All I have to tell is be wary of my sweet spiders, and watch where you go! When you’re done, I’ll make you some tea and biscuits.” Truffle smiled at the maid, waiting for a response. The maid nodded and looked at Truffle’s pet, completely still and… a feeling of something wrong with it, sinister almost. Then something moved under the wrappings. “Is everything alright?” Truffle asked, still smiling at the maid. She gave the cookie her full attention while giving the pet pets that became longer strokes. “Oh it’s nothing, I was probably seeing things. I’ll get to work now.” The maid said in response. Truffle Cookie looked at her with a wide, strange smile and walked off into the darkness of her home. The maid was… kind of surprised. She’s heard stories of how Truffle Cookie would have a sinister attitude and curse you into a painting or doll, or eat you up or even kill you and feed you to her spiders! She wasn’t sure if Truffle’s friendly attitude was either friendly or creepy but she paid no mind to it; The maid had work to do after all.
Dusting and sweeping about, the maid went about her day cleaning up the house. The work was very easy, too easy, but she had no complaints. As she dusted around the hallway, being careful of the cobwebs, the maid noticed a painting with a familiar face. It was too familiar, a cookie with maid attire and frazzled hair, looking as if she were screaming in fear. The maid looked at it for a while until it hit her; That maid, she was one of the missing workers. Her work attire was the same of the company’s, and she was the familiar face that always greeted every employee when they visited. This is where she went. She was here the whole ti-
Squish.
The maid, caught up in all the emotions, realized that she stepped back, almost as if she were to run away. And of course, she stepped on a spider. She immediately heard small legs all skitter away, to be unseen, but she could feel eyes on her. The eyes of someone who didn’t like what she just did. In an attempt to run from the crime scene, she immediately walked away as quickly as possible, looking down to watch where she stepped. The maid wasn’t sure what to do, she was told to be careful around the spiders, and now she’s killed one. How was Miss. Truffle going to react? Hopefully not bad? She could end up fired though! Or eaten or imprisoned in a doll or stuck in a painting or dead-
The maid’s foot had gotten stuck in something. When she looked up, she realized it was a spider web. A large one, covering the entire entrance of the hallway. She tried to pull it away, seeing as she knew spider webs were very easy to step through, but saw no success. Pulling or pushing her foot wasn’t working at all. She then tried to use her hands as support on the spider web as the maid tried to pull her foot away only to realize she got her hands stuck too. It felt like doing tug of war with a gorilla or a buff cookie. She pulled and tugged with all her might until her wriggling threw herself into the spider web. The maid was completely stuck, her whole body was stuck against the spider web. Is this how she’s going to die? Have the spiders struck and decided to have revenge? “H-Help..!” She called out. “I’m stuck!”
No response.
Maybe if she called out again. “Help! Please!” The maid tried to move around, she could just barely, as she wiggled the spider web. Suddenly she could hear the footsteps of something, finally! She was saved.
But she wasn’t.
It wasn’t Miss. Truffle.
It was a large spider, wrapped in silk. It was coming for the maid. She started screaming as it came closer, “HELP!! HELP PLEASE!! PLEASE HELP!!” she cried. The spider got to the web, and went to the feet of the maid and started wrapping her in silk, like a fly- Like PREY. The maid was losing her mind at this point, she was screaming and crying for help. Her screams were those of one who feared death, who feared leaving this world. The spider’s silk was coming up to her torso, it was quick at tying up its dinner. The maid frantically looked around, for someone, something, anything. As the spider was getting close to her head, she saw someone standing in the shadows. It looked so close to Truffle Cookie but… her face was filled with disappointment, and disgust. Was it at the maid? Was it at the spider? “HELP! HELP PLEASE! PLEASE, I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!” She screamed. Truffle stood there, no response, just watching. The maid tried to scream again, but her mouth was covered, it all came out muffled. She went to a last resort of just screaming as the spider proceeded to cover her body up.
And Miss Truffle walked away, a small smile building up her face.
