Chapter Text

It was a beautiful October afternoon: the orange and yellow leaves dancing in the pale blue sky that was decorated with white cotton candy clouds, the smell of apples and pumpkins lingering in the air, the crunch of the dying foliage that has yet to be raked off of the gray paths...

Katai hated it. He much rather be curled up in his futon in the comforts of his small house not to far away from his work, reading digital books on his computer. Why he bothered get a job at a school is a question not even he knows an answer to.

A cold wind flows by him, sending shivers down his spine. He clenched into his coat (which was, not surprisingly, a piece of his Futon) and didn't let go. He hated the country side: it didn't nearly have enough technology as Yokohoma did.

Yokohoma. Oh, how he longed to go there. Where he could just stay in his futon all day and nap. Maybe get a job that doesn't require physical effort.

But for now, he's stuck teaching snotty kids how to work computers.

As Katai entered the School, he was greeted with the usual scene. Fighting, yelling, explicit music: the works. All he had to do was get to the staff room.

Katai ran for it, dashing by students, jumping over backpacks, dodging flying pencils...everything. This was the only physical activity he wanted to know.

He sighed as he walked into the staff room. He hated kids. Why did he bother to to school and get a degree?

His thought was cut off when he bumped into a tall man.

"Oh, my bad, sir-" Katai was cut off when he looked up. A man with shiny glasses and a ponytail was looking down at him. He was gorgeous.

"Its okay, sir. You must be the Computer Lab Teacher. I'm surprised we haven't met sooner." Kunikida said as he looked down at the shorter man. "My name's Doppo Kunikida, but you can call me Kunikida. And you are?"

" T-Tayama Katai. Just call me Katai. Nice to meet you. "

Kunikida smiled gently. "Pleasures all mine."

"You must be the new Math Teacher, right?"

" that would be me, yes. "

Katai was internally blushing. he needed to find an excuse to leave. "Welp, I think I left my Computer running, I better to catch it."

He internally cringed. That was such a stupid line-

He looked up and saw Kunikida laughing. "You're a funny one, aren't you. I'll see you at Break."

" Y-yeah. See ya.. "

Chapter Text

By the time Break rolled around, Katai was exhausted. All he wanted to do was sleep on the soft red couch in the staff room, maybe even drink some hot cocoa with whipcream...

That sounded wonderful. The only problem was that the couch was being taken by Principal Fukuzawa and the Health Teacher, Mori.

"Morning, sirs.." Katai mumbled out.

"Tsk, shouldn't you be up and moving by now, Tayama?" Mori asked.

Fukuzawa sighed. "You're not any better in the morning, Mori."

" can you blame me for just wanting to stay in bed, being cuddled? "

Katai chuckled. The boss can try as hard as he wanted to hide his affair with Ōgai, but it will still stick out like a sore thumb.

The staff room door opened. Kunikida walked in, holding a book titled " Ideals. " Kunikida looked over at the three. "Morning, Ōgai, Yukichi and Katai."

" morning, Kunikida-Chan~" Mori joked as he was met with an unamused scoff from the other party.

Katai giggled under his breath. Kunikida-Chan...that was an adorable - no. Don't think these things. "Good morning, Kunikida-San."

" morning, " Doppo said, "I hope the day's been treating you well."

"It has." Katai said with a soft smile.

Kunikida smiled back before plopping down on a chair, opening his book.

"What's that book about?" Katai questioned.

"Oh, this? These are my Ideals. I simply couldn't live without them."

" interesting, " Katai muttered, "say, so you want some hot cocoa? I'm going to make some."

"Sure, I'll take a cup. Thank you."

Katai grinned at this. Kunikida looked happy. He could almost fall in love with this man. No he couldn't! He just met him!

Katai sighed as he poured two mugs of cocoa. He topped them with whipped cream and shaved chocolate (extra on Kunikida's) and slid it over. "Order up."

Kunikida laughed gently. "Thank you, my good sir." He said as he sipped the cocoa. His face brightened. "This is...really good."

" One day, I can reach you the recipe. " Katai said.

"I hope that day comes by."
