Work Text:
The campers screamed somewhere outside the big house.
Chiron looked up from his book, “Dear,”
There was a beat of silence before Dionysus stirred from his spot on their bed, “mmm yes Horse?” He mumbled, sleepily (did gods even need sleep?).
“Please go help the campers”
Dionysus rolled over on his side, long, curly hair sticking with sweat to his face so only the glow of his eyes could be vaguely seen through dark hair, like stars. If he was being helpful, Chiron would have told him that. “Get your own damn brats”
Chiron sighed and put his book down to cross his arms. “They aren't my children. We’ve been over this”
He didn't have to even see the eye roll Dionysus did at that. It was a typical argument between them. Chiron was right of course. And Dionysus just was that predictable. (He loved his predictableness though).
“They aren't mine either, I only have two right now” He put two fingers up to emphasize his point, “two, deux, δύο: Pollux and Bacchus’ one—Dakota”.
Chiron could almost hear the smirk in that retort. “I believe I can hear Pollux among the screaming.” He said.
“Polly’s a big kid now maybe she's finally unlocking his power over madness".
Chiron sighed and stared at him in silence for a few moments, the only thing being heard was the slowly getting louder sound of campers shrieking. Dionysus sighed.
“Fine you win!” He exclaimed throwing his hands up in mock annoyance and finally picking himself up off the bed to go deal with the campers. (who were concerningly quiet now)
“Thank you.” Chiron said before going back to his book.
He blew his hair out of his face and rubbed his eyes, “Fuck you.”
“Not tonight” Chiron replied.
