Chapter Text
Rose was over the moon. Ravage had been busy all week but today was the day and he finally had enough time to play with her. It was a simple game of hide and seek tag but Ravage could make it the funniest game ever. Lazerbeeak had also decided to join but he wasn't as good as Ravage was at it.
She happily snuck through the vents of the Nemesis looking for the best spot to hide since the game had just started. Rose had a good amount of the vent system memorized; she just hoped she didn’t end up in the same room as some of the grumpier cons. As she exited the vents partially lost in though she suddenly froze. The room she was in was Shockwave’s lab and right in front of her was Shockwave himself.
“What are you doing here,” Shockwave said in Cybertronian.
Shockwave never spoke to her in English even though Rose knew he could. It had been that way since Cometstorm first adopted her. She knew he hated her but as she learned more and more Cybertronian she realized he didn't even try to hide it. She had been told he had been through something awful, well she had too and she wasn’t rude to him. At least she didn’t try too.
“I was just playing a game with Ravage and took a wrong turn.” Rose said nervously in Cybertronian.
“Of course. Now go, I don’t want some idiotic human sparkling in my lab. As I have told you multiple times,” Shockwave said.
Rose just wanted to get out of there, so she ran so scared she shifted into her dragon form without releasing it. Just as she was nearly out of the lab her tail hit a beaker on one of the tables and hit the floor with a loud crash. She ran faster heading toward a supply closet.
“Son of a glitch,” Shockwave yelled as the door to the lab closed.
Rose then curled up in the supply closet, how could she have been so careless. She thought she had memorized all the routes to Shockwave’s lab but apparently not. Why did Shockwave scare her so much, she should be braver? She had spent so long alone in those woods she shouldn’t be scared of anything now. Yet as she quietly cried it was clear that even with everything she had gone though she was still just a scared kid.
“Found you. What’s wrong,” Ravage said, his voice quickly going from excited to concerned as he entered the supply closet.
“Nothing,” Rose said quietly.
“You sure,” Ravage aksed softly sitting next to her.
“Yeah, just somebody being mean, like always,” Rose said frustrated.
“You don't have to tell me who it was. I am just making sure that you haven’t forgotten that there are people who care for you. Primus knows that there’s times in my past when I have,” Ravage said sincerely.
“But you have so many siblings and Soundwave,” Rose said, sitting up shocked.
“There have however been times that they were not with me. When I’ve had to do things alone and even I get scared sometimes,” Ravage said.
“I’m sorry,” Rose said.
“Nothing you need to apologize for. It’s just a kid like you shouldn’t be afraid like this but I know when you’ve had a stretch of time where there was no one who cared the smallest things can make you afraid that that still is the truth,” Ravage said.
“Thank you. You’re the best,” Rose said, hugging Ravage.
“Are you ready to get out of this closet,” Ravage asked.
“Yeah, I think I am,” Rose said, drying the last of her tears feeling tired.
